  in an organization as obsessed with control as this one is,.

  i have to wonder if the society's leadership ever considers how.

  disfellowshipping can turn against them.. i doubt, when they developed the idea of a person "disassociating.

  Shunning was effective in a bygone age when the effect was to safely isolate and insulate DFed people from both current Dubs and (almost as importantly) from each other. Now, with the advent of the net, DFed can locate each other and the days of isolation are over. Now, more threateningly for the 'Tower, there are networks of angry activists forming, who are now starting to take the fight back to the 'Tower. The internet and the courts and the media are their forum, and the WBTS can do diddly-squat to stop this movement!

Unfortunately for them, it is that same anonymity which allows Dubs with questions to find sources other than those the 'Tower provides. This board is living proof that the WBTS and information exchanged freely in an uncontrolled environment don't mix!

  Maybe it's a sore point with you - perhaps you're a producer who wants to be forever rewarded for the one clever thing you ever did. I as a consumer, however, welcome the continual pressure upon inventors and manufacturers to continually compete against themselves and each other to get more and better products to market more cheaply. You claim nothing new is being invented? How bizarre!

  i have a old('76) gmc 4wd pickup truck.

  it has holes rusted in places and has 200,000 miles on it.

  it still runs good and i pull my 35' camper to the coast with it each year.

  Actually, this has sparked another idea. I earlier posted this pic of the cubby house (clubhouse) built for my kids by a local Dub.

  He's still in business building these things. Perhaps he could adopt a new line: full sized replicas of Russell's tomb for backyards! LOL

  Now there's a money making scheme, if I ever saw one! What ex-Dub wouldn't want their desk adorned with a "Russell's Pyramid Gravestone" paperweight??? There could be a version to hang from the rear view mirror in cars, too. The best idea, IMO, is to have one hanging on a door, kind of like a Christmas wreath, ready for when the Dubs come next! Be the envy of your neighbours, order now!!
