  Statistical Question

  a guy recently posted to nz.politics that from may 2, you're now working for yourself.

  the reasoning being that at nz's level of taxation, the first 4 or so months of the year are spent working for the govt.. so my question, using this principle: if a jw puts in all hours recommended by the society (field service, meetings, homestudy, etc.

  ) in a week, how many hours or even days of the week belong to the society before the witnesses can even think about spending time on themselves and their families.

  has typical article on terrorism; trouble is sign of imminent end, etc, etc.

  as usual it shows how bad the internet is by narrating how computer networks are increasingly the target of "terrorist" activity.

  i ran into some jws i knew last night and asked them if i could get the latest magazines; no-one seems to call on us anymore!

  they said they'd be around sometime today.. what subject should i bring up?

  a friend told me he once had two jw ladies visit his house while he was in the front yard.

  one was an older lady, the other young and attractive.

  my friend (who looks pretty rough) walked up to them and gestured to the older lady "you - ***k off!

  Art School JWs?

  some years back i went to art school for a year, and life drawing was one of the subjects.

  although the prospect of perving on naked women was at first appealing, it soon became evident that sex-drive is a left-brain function while drawing is strictly right-brain.

  iow, drawing naked people was just plain hard work, and it was the only thing that was hard!

  My Trip to New Zealand

  now that i've got a pic up, i'm moved to recount an experience which occurred at the time it was taken.

  on my last night in auckland before flying back home, i stayed at a friend's place; she was going to drive me to the airport in the morning.

  in the morning (saturday), just before we were about to drive to the airport, there was a knock at the door, and guess who it was!

  Procter and Gamble - The Myth

  i never cease to be amazed at how much the jws resemble the pentecostal movement - especially the fear of demons.. that they have adopted the procter and gamble myth should come as no surprise therefore; i first heard of it from a pentecostal friend.

  the whole thing sounded suspicious to me; i advised caution or that he at least contacted the company before boycotting their products (to no avail, i might add!

  ) i would advise anyone who perpetuates this myth to stop doing so; it can get you sued!.

  i've gotten the impression that gambling is not looked upon kindly by the 'tower.

  is it officially condemned, i.e.

  is it a disfellowshippable offence?.
