Babylon the Great
by stevieb1 inthe watchtower identifies the entity babylon the great as the "world empire of false religion" with christendom being the most reprehensible part.
as far as i can gather, the society is unique in this interpretation of the identity of babylon the great.
does anyone have a take on the identity of the harlot which differs from the society's viewpoint?.

Acts 20:20,21
by stevieb1 inacts 20:21,21: according to the nwt these verses read:.
"while i did not hold back from telling you any of these things that were profitable nor from teaching you publicly and from house to house.
but i thoroughly bore witness to both jews and to greeks about repentance towards god and faith in our lord jesus.".

WT Defends House to House Preaching
by stevieb1 ini am quite eager for anyone to critique the following statement which is perhaps the most scholarly defence of the house-to-house method the society has put out in recent years.. *** w91 1/15 11-12 teach publicly and from house to house ***.
the apostolic method.
3 jesus christ gave his followers this meaningful commission: "go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things i have commanded you.

Are JW's Christians. Will They Go To Heaven?
by stevieb1 ini know there is a huge gulf between the doctrines of the wtbts and the bible, many major doctrines minor beliefs all contradicting scripture but that being said can we say categorically that jw's are not true christians in the sense that their belief system is corrupt.
if they genuinely believe that they are footstep followers of christ and try to display the fruitages of the spirit then will they not equally qualify for everlasting life?
isn't god above orthodoxy and can he not forgive them individually especially since the society keeps the truth of the bible hidden from them?.

Validity of 607 BCE date
by stevieb1 inhas anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.
i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.
if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?

Scriptural Validity of Earthly Paradise?
by stevieb1 insociety correct in it's interpretation of such scriptures as psalm 72:16; isaiah 11:8,9; 35:1,6,7; 55:13; 65:21-23 and most prominently revelation 21:3,4 by intimating that these things will be fulfilled on earth at some point after armageddon, or have these verses been taken out of context and misapplied?
it would be important to be sure on this matter as this is a primary witness doctrine.
if they are wrong on this matter then what about jehovah's original purpose for the earth (psalm 37:11; isaiah 45:18)?

Demonic Images in WT publications
by stevieb1 ina number of years ago i read a book called the tower of darkness which included actual pictures taken from wt publications supposedly containing demonic images.
some were very convincing others not so or just a little convincing.
does anyone know if any more images have appeared in publications from the last three years?

What I Observed Last Night At The Kingdom Hall
by stevieb1 ini am still one of jehovah's witnesses and i still attend meetings at the kingdom hall though i am quite disgruntled over many of the society's teachings and the practices that go on in the congregation.
i have read everything about jw's both pro and con, (i have one of the largest collections of material related to jw's in europe) and i have contributed scholarly articles to the society on many occasions.
i could talk about many things but i'll just talk about what i observed last night.
