Suggestions for horror/supernatural movies
by Addison0998 inhey guys, so now that i’m pretty much atheist and i’m not scared of demons or supernatural things, or bring them into my house by watching movies or reading books about them lol, i defenitly want to watch a few scary movies.
i’ve always loved scary movies, but as witness, you don’t get to watch many since they need to be pg-13 and have no spiritism in it lol.
does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you guys. I do love Carrie that’s a great one. And yes jp1692, maybe I just need to build a better tolerance lol. I just meant that I’m not really interested in Saw movies, truth or dare, would you rather, where the whole movie is about people being tormented. I don’t mind if it’s done disturbing stuff, but I’m more interested in like paranormal haunting stuff, I understand all horror has gore though.

There was a group of young guys a few hours from where I lived who looooved bikes. They were like a little JW biker gang lol. But a few of them were pretty reckless and loved going way too fast. And very tragically, a young man about 21 lost his life, they said that in the helicopter on the way to the hospital, the last thing he ever said to the paramedics was, no blood. Very sad. But anyways, all his friends immediately sold their motorcycles.
But on a different note, there was this young single brother I knew who had a beautiful mustang, and the elders were constantly passive aggressively nagging at him and hinting their disapproval for his car choice. Maybe they were jealous .
But there’s never any part of your life that gets by without people in the congregation, trying to attempt to regulate and control it.

My failed attempts to help my brainwashed family

First of all I just want to say a quick thank you to all of you who’s been listening to my story and my little rants and dilemmas lol. This website has helped me so much to not feel alone and to keep me from feeling like I’m going crazy.
Anyways, I’m defenitly going to try much harder from this point on to play the part until I move out after this summer. I’ve tried to bring up a few points of reasoning with my family, but their cognitive dissonance is so strong. I talked to my dad about the child abuse scandal, and I asked him, can you imagine a child confiding in you about being sexually abused, and saying, well sorry, you have no witnesses, nothing we can do for you. And he said well unfortunately that is the case a lot of the time and there is nothing we can do. I told him about the story in Deuteronomy about the girl getting raped and there were no witnesses around to hear her scream for help, and the rapist was still punished. He had no response, but still defended the way we did things and said the Catholics are much worse.
I spoke to my mom about the disfellowshipping arrangement and how our view of repentance and reinstatement was much different than the Bible’s. I asked her if she would completely shun one of her children. And her response was so weird, she said, “Well if one of you leave, we are still going to be JW, go to meetings and out in service, but your not anymore, they would want us to be involved with their life, but we will be too busy being Jehovah’s Witness. WHAT??! Lol, I never heard that one before, but she her logic never makes sense anyways.
And lastly, I spoke to my sister about the 607 issue, and told her that there is a lot of evidence that 607 is not the date Jerusalem was destroyed. I told her if it is not true, that means that 1914 means nothing, and explained to her how that would make a lot of other things fall apart. She said, “Well that’s ok, it would still be the truth.” I reasoned with the also about twisted scriptures or scriptures the WT ignores, she actually got scared and said, “You seem to know your scriptures really good, and your starting to sound like apostate!” Lol wow whoops
I give up, I felt I had a responsibility to help my family the best I could so they wouldn’t have to waste their life anymore, but they will probably never let go, as I s heard before, religion is an affair of the heart. They did ask me if I was reading apostate stuff and I denied and started acting “right”, so they’ve layed off me for now. Anyways, thanks for listening.

A ridiculous thing I found in the old young people’s book
by Addison0998 init was in some book for young people that i found going through the watchtower library when i was doing research for old publications, i cannot believe this lunacy, i feel so bad for the teenagers at the time who had to try to take this seriously, but they’re not a high control religion or cult though, anyways here is is : .
if you sleep in a room alone and you find that you seem to feel special stress in this direction at night, you may be able to arrange matters to share a room with another member of your family.
also, you may find it helpful to sleep on your side rather than on your back or face down.. 18 another thing that may be helpful is to see to it that your clothing does not unnecessarily cause friction with the sexual organs.

But when someone out in service would bring up our child abuse policy and how we allow Pedophiles in...no comment, no emotion when we would get back into the car. And when it came to light that an elder in a nearby congregation had molested TWO young girls, and the only consequence was being taken down from being an elder, (which even that doesn’t happen in a lot of congregations), and of course the elders strongly persuaded the family not to tell the police, NO negative comment made by ANYONE, I would hear something along the lines of, oh yeah that’s a hard situation over there, but no disgust shown to the Pedophile. I wonder why they are so cold and emotionless towards such a traumatizing harmful crime, but are so disgusted towards two consenting adults doing their business. I even told a young 19 year old girl, who had sex when she was younger before becoming a witness, about the Australian royal commission and the problem with protecting sex offenders in the org, and she was surprised, but of course like any completely brainwashed Witness went on about imperfection, not knowing all the details, blah blah, and so I said, I don’t understand why an adult who had sex one time many years ago can be disfellowshipped and shunned but someone who molest a child can just have their privledges taken away, and she said, “Well their both VERRRRY SERIOOOS sins!” I was so disgusted, I realize they are programmed to be so cold and calculated, and it honestly disgust me and terrifies me at the same time.

Struggling to Live a Lie
by Addison0998 init’s been very difficult, much more than i first anticipated to live a lie, (be pimo and a regular active member) i still live with my parents but i plan on moving out at the end of the year, so i really need to keep it together.
but i think people are starting to get suspicious that something is up.
i’ve stopped commenting, going on service all the time, talking at the door, and occasionally voicing something, such as a question that no one has a good answer for, that makes people think, but ahah, thinking is dangerous and wrong so that is suspicious of course.

but she squealed, “we don’t believe in the afterlife!
