What are the reasons?

hi all,.

someone asked me the other day why i am so interested in reading about jws,ex jws and things that are going on with the wts.. i think for the most part,only those who have been involved with the wts can understand why we are so interested in the subject.. of course having believed everything the wts has told us over the years and dedicating our lives to it kept us tied in with them.. what are the different reasons that you all have for continuing to be preocupied with the wts?.

Will do. I mainly read the Bible. It is my basic for everything. I do read soicety Publications, knowing that men thoughts are convey in them, may I say adding to the scriptures.

Wow, I'm impressed, back to Rutherford days. Don't get me wrong, I am and will continue to be active. It's just somethings have change. I will let Jehovah guide me, not man. Thank you for all the support.
What do you think the elders would do to me if they knew I am on the internet talking to you al1? :-)

Sorry it took me so long to respond.
I was a "regular pioneer". I don't know what exactly change for me. Yes I still go out in service. In my post under confessing, I told the elders that I don't go out in service. Compare to the hours I use to put in I don't. I only have two hours for the month. At the moment I still give talks. But I sense my joy is leaving.

I encourage people to read their Bible. I tell them don't listen to what man has to say. Neyank I don't take everything that come out of the mouth of the speaker (elder) at face value. I have a mind. Jehovah's word is law, the Bible says do not take away, or add to it.

Again I was raised in the truth. Alot of things embedded in my brain.
Thrid generation JW. But I have always, reasoned things out for myself. Like if I was told not to socialize with wordly people because of 1 Cor. 15:33. I use my own judgement. You have to watch your association in the truth also. Just becasue a person is not a JW,
does not make them a "bad" perosn.

I agree that a person dignity is involve. I just decided, it was not for them to know. The right person knows, (Jehovah) and like RHW stated he knows my heart. Man does not have the ability to reads hearts.

Agaih I am totally at peace with myself.

This is a sight where only people who were and are still are associated with JW's truly understand.
It gives you diffrent angles, personailties to view various topics. People who have been there, done that type of thing.

This is a place for a person like me who is still active, but could'nt and would'nt dare obtain advice from the congregations elders, pioneer etc. It is not a stumbling block. I even told a girlfriend about it.

Update. I had my meeting, they did not ask and I did not tell them.
I did tell them that I was spiritually weak, tired, I don't go out in service, that I love this man, I don't know if I can stay away from him. Have been to his place before. They will talk to the other elders, and I have another meeting later this week.

This is the best I can do now. Jehovah is my judge, Jesus Christ my redeemer. If this means I miss out on paradise, then so be it. It is my choice. I am at peace with myself at this point and time.

When should you Disassociate yourself?

i have been having discussion with my sister (relative), who is an active witness, about writing a letter of disassociation.

the reason being is that i have not attended the meetings in over a year and it's been 4 years since i have went out in the jw ministry.. i going to try to sum this topic up.

my sister think that i should not da myself because i have not done any immoral act in her thinking.

To Larc Most of them know.(The Elders) It is like they fell through the cracks. Even when other "friends" see my brothers they speak. They never da'f themselves or were dis'f. They just stop going, they would go the the memorial. They don't talk against the JW.

Indeed Larc, thanks for the support, I don't think you wre harsh. I've pretty much made up my mind. When I said a series of things I was talking about the elders, not a series of things that that I did. Again this is an investigating committee to determine if their is a need for jc. I told the brothers a man was involve, not what happen, but that something did happen.
They know I talk with my brothers. I guess being the youngest this is something I have always done. Even people who still go to the hall speak to them when they see them. They never da'd themselves verbally or were dis'f. Besides who am I to judge?

Joel thanks for the advice, I know that in the end Jehovah is the one
who decides not man. I understood what you were saying.

That's all I have been doing is thinking what I will tell.
I am still leaning towards not telling them everything to be honest. Just a series of things that has happen, the elders expressions etc. I can't explain it. I have even put my thoughts down on paper. (for my personal use)

But one never knows until they are there before the elders talking.
Being questioned. Right, right.

As you all know I am still very much active in my congregation, and will continue to be so, with Jehovah's help.
Speaking on a personal level I have rec'd nothing but kind,honest, warm, upbuilding comments from "all" of you.

You have been here for me, when I could'nt talk to anyone else. You have not tried to get me to stop attending the meetings etc. I both appreciate and respect that. I have developed a bond with all of you.

Of course there are certain subjects that I do not engage in, for personal reasons.
I agree with Xandit, I enjoy the civil part of these posts, we might not all believe the same thing, or have the same thought, but we respect each others views, help where we can. I am honor to talk to you all.

When should you Disassociate yourself?

I agree there is no need to write a letter. I have three brothers, who are much older then I am. They got baptized as teenagers, and have been inactive for about 23 years. Some congregation do let you fall through the crack. No one ever checked on them, to see what was going on. They still live in the same area. They still beleive, but it is if they were never baptize.
They don't go to church, but they do their own thing, Holidays, birthdays. I still talk to them. My mother was inactive for about 16 years before I got her to come with me to my new congregation, she loves it.
