The UN's motto means the END OF DAYS!! Gloom and DOOM

a email has been going around the witness community explaining how prophecies are falling into place concerning the wild beast.

aparantly the un's motto this year is "peace and security" 1 thes 5:3 "whenever it is that they are saying peace and security then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pangs of distress upon a pregnant woman aand they by no means will escape".. according to this scripture the "end" should already be here since peace and security has already been declared by the un; i do wonder if this was done on purpose as a slap in the face to wtbs, due to them gb declaring the un a wicked and destable thing.. i would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.. honeybucket.

Does This Happen to You? I Need Help :/

hey guys.... i have a few important questions for everyone.

this applies to doubters, faders, inactive, dfed or seasoned apostates.

first, let me set it up:.

It doesnt matter what other people think. You need preserve yourself. They will never change their thinking, its programmed; to be honest they probably enjoy the drama. What has helped me with my situation is finding joy in non-witness activities, relearning how to live without a stigma attached to everything. You might have to accept the fact that your going to be deemed an "evil" person, although you know this is not the case. When you hear of people that have left the "truth" You always hear about those that turned to drugs, alcohol, sex addictions. They want you to believe that these things WILL happen to you if you choose another path. What they dont mention in the magazines is how many ex witnesses do have happy and successful lives outside of the Borg.

Someone I know has faded, we are very close, and I refuse to give up my friendship. People ask me all the time "how is ___, she must be so depressed and have a horribly life since she left the organization" THEY WILL THINK THIS NO MATTER WHAT YOUR "CRIMES" ARE. Its up to you to not let their diseased ideas continue to control your life. I hope things get better

Our First Halloween

(i grew up in the "truth".

) very risky, considering we are still active in the cong..... so we started at the first house and methodically walked up and down each driveway as worked along the street.. we were quickly over-taken by kids who were zig-zagging across lawns and doing houses in random order.

suddenly, it dawned on me.

This post makes me happy and sad at the same time. Sad that the organization has put those road blocks on people they cant even live normal lives without a twinge of guilt. But yay for the kiddies. Service sucks but getting candy is fun. I too was excited because my husband carved pumpkins with me. Im fading and I had told him I dont believe in its teachings and I am going to live a normal life, start visiting my family on the holidays, and give gifts. btw, why are witnesses so stingy? In all my years as a witness, the only gifts I ever got was for my wedding. Witnesses always reason that they dont need a holiday to show someone they love them with a gift. Giving spirit my rear end. holidays teach you how to give. Christmas- giving. Thanksgiving-thankful Halloween-fun. You get my drift.

How do I disprove "New Light"?

i currently am a jw and my parents are too.they seem either confused or dislike it when i raise questions and recently, when i questioned them about 1925 and 1975, i've been told it's changed due to "new light.

" i don't remember nor do i have very much knowledge of "new light.".

this "new light" just dosen't sit with me and neither do the false prophecies.new light first of all, breaks a scripture in deut.

Ding- I think you hit the nail with the hammer. They think that the mormons are batshit crazy, have the witnesses taken a look in the mirror lately? No! If some other church pulled the same shananigans that the WTBS has pulled, we both know they would be pointing fingers and judging. Try to tell someone a "hypothetical" story of this church that changes the rules, and if you dont agree, they kick you out. Explain how this religion has numerous failed prohpecys yet condemn modern prophets. Tell them this religion has a body of men that can talk to God, and God wants everyone to read their bible, but god said we can only read the bible if we have the proper literature that this group of men approves of. This literature is viewed as "holy" as the bible itself. These men also level themselves with Jesus if not higher. Would you join this church or would you see it all at face value- pure B.S?

All things given to us

2pe 1:3 "his divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the full knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence".. it is my concern having read some post here that too much faith is put in the groverning body of the jehovahs witnesses.

the bible says that a believer has everything needed for life and godliness, through the direct revelation of god.

people don't need too have people to govern their lives, as god is the one who governs.. mans opinions are not always correct, only god is a refuge.

I am so happy to see those who actually want to get over their mental ailment the WTS inflicted. Reading is the easy part, posting is the hard part. Im glad you took that step. I agree with you 100%, why cant people see through all the crap. Is it because they dont want to? When something is so deeply ingrained in someone, the possibility of the opposite is inconceiveable. Think outside the box! PLEASE! Just mind control and brain washing at its best... do they even do that good of a job at it?

this is my hall

retired, retired, retired, unemployed, retired, retired, professional yard mower, retired, unemployed, baker, office manager, engineer, retired.

We have nothing but old people in our hall. They all have children, but most of them arent witnesses. I have noticed in my area that most witnesses are low income. The wealthier ones have their own business, they are usually all in the construction business. They build eachothers houses, and sit in them, then judge everyone else for not making as much as they do. If your poor, consider yourself marked and never expect an invite to anything.

Medical Marijuana, wasn't there a WT letter?

i have been searching several exjw sites and can't find it, but i swear i remember seeing a letter on medical marijuana posted once.

So... I am technically a witness and a medical marijuana user.

When I was doing my research on this I went directly to the elders and asked. They did their research, talked to whom ever it is they talk to and then got back to me. They pretty much said in a nutshell is it is to be viewed the same as any other kind of medicine your doctor would give you. You follow his course of treatment whether that be smoking, eating or drinking it. I know a coulple other witnesses that also partake and their elders told them the same thing. In fact the witnesses really have no say over health matters nowadays. I actually grow a few plants and my buddy grows about 15 plants. The elders are well aware of this. We are marked though, so beware of that. They do tell you its a conscience matter of course, since this is considered a drug, but they cant legally tell you not to follow medical advice.

Thats a great point. There should be a massive uprising. Demanding answers and the truth. It will never happen though. Their way of thinking is so controlled, even if the governing body said it was all a lie, they probably wouldnt believe that. Do the governing body, rutherford and all those at the top truly believe the end is at hand?It seems to me that they want power, well whats their next power move. I was noticing in my soon to be ex-hall, that there arent hardly any young ones left. Im 27 and the youngest married adult that isnt brain washed from birth. In fact ALL of the young ones I knew in my teenage years are either DF'd or dis-Ass. When the "heart" of the congregation dies, there will be no one to replace them. They are in thieer 60's and 70's now. After that generation dies, lets hope the religion will die with it
