Live To 150?
by metatron inhttp://www.businessinsider.com/drug-based-on-red-wine-could-help-people-live-to-150-2013-3.
i'm skeptical because i think defective proteins limit longevity but i think the above could greatly improve aging prospects.. .

Just what the Earth's ecosystems need: rich people living twice as long.
It'd be fun being 140 and looking out the window at the wasteland that was once nature.

Er.... Hate to break it to you Jeff, but the entire jw organisation is about making money, and protecting and enhancing its assets.
Why are you surprised at this letter?
And why do you always refer to Jehoovah as if he's real?

Should a Jehovah's Witness allow an imperfect person to come between him/her and Jehovah?
by I_love_Jeff in"what are some ways in which you might develop such loyalty?
one would be by cooperating with your local congregation elders.
(hebrews 13:17) recognizing that christ is the appointed head of the christian congregation, mature christians are loyal to those appointed "to shepherd the congregation of god.

the seven trumpets have not yet been sounded
by MASIMBA inin the book revelation its grand climax at hand in chapter 18 (earthquakes in the lords day) on page 112, the writers mention that the sixth seal is going to be opened some time in the future and yet they go on to mention in chapter 21 (jehovahs plagues on christendom) that the seven trumpets have already been blown and they give explanations of the fulfillment of these trumpet blasts in mankinds history.
however, i believe it is impossible for the seven trumpets to have been sounded before the opening of the sixth seal because firstly, as they pointed out in the book, the sounding of the seven trumpets is ushered in by the opening of the seventh seal, which seal is only opened after the sixth seal has been opened as happened with the other seals.
the seals were opened or are opened in order form the first to the seventh, which is the last, without skipping one and going to the next.

And one more thing: why are those who post on bible prophecy so averse to using paragraphs?
They are able to find deep hidden esoteric meaning in the bible, but are unable to locate the <return> key on their keyboard!

I have an alternative interpretation of the Book of Revelation. You might like to consider it.
Old geriatric demented John was off his face on magic mushrooms. I mean really totally munted off his brain.
And it was a bad trip man. A real bad trip.
He was seing all kinds of shit. Horses and blood and swords and trumpets and seals (arf, arf).
In his doddery handwriting he wrote it all down.
Now centuries later, people still argue over what it means. All kinds of crazy people reckon they alone have got it all figured out.
If anyone takes Revelation seriously, they are one step away from being cared for by the State.
If people start giving their interpretations out as if they are the ones who can understand this geriatric drool, then it's past time they were institutionalised for their own safety.

Following their own rules, Should the Governing Body be disfellowshipped for decades of misleading the flock and thus tainting Gods name without any evidence of repentance?

Of course they shouldn't be.
They should be awarded medals of honour and given a new car.
Their sayings and writings should be written down in a series of pocket-sized books and studied by school kids in every land.
They should be given velvet pants with fur trim.
For they are great men.

Re: Will you attend the Memorial this year? Why? Why not?
by check inyou all had some interesting thoughts on that jw memorial thread.
some of you mentioned that you are going so that you can set some sort of example.
i gather that some of you believe that by going and eating, you are somehow showing them they can (or should) do it too.. that really confuses me.

Last one I went to was in 1994. And that wasn't long enough ago. Never go to another one. Ever.
Incidentally - one or the servers (is that what they call the bros who pass around the bread n wine...?) at that last memorial I went to in a country cong in NSW was later exposed on national tv as a pedophile. Good one Jehovah! Thanks for having a pedophile serve us all the Lord's evening meal!

Viv Moritz? Australian experience?
by FadeToBlack incan anybody here from australia fill me in on this guy?
i did the search thing and the only thing i could find seemed to imply that he had been shipped off here to poland to avoid problems there.
i talked to him at a ca in warsaw and he seemed kind of 'off'... it also seemed to me that he had lots of 'handlers'.

FTS that is awesome! Thanks so much for this great post. Yes, Max Lloyd. That was it. A very humble and decent bloke. What I remember most about Don McLean was that he loved pancakes and maple syrup. Every Thursday morning we had pancakes for breakfast. Being a callow youth I don't think that I had ever had Canadian maple syrup before. I still love it all these years later. The batter had to be made the evening before. I remember I was taking Doug King to Sydney airport once. We were held up in the traffic and when it cleared we were cutting it fine for him to make his flight. He told me that he didn't want me to speed because he didn't want me being pulled over by the police. Not because he didn't want me to have to pay a speeding fine on my meagre bethel pay, but because the delay would mean that he would miss his flight! That's what he told me. Good one Dougie! Such compassion. You know I haven't thought about these guys for years. But when their names come up in a thread it brings back a lot of memories.
