  ted jaracz, de facto head of the watchtower bible and tract society, has gone on an international tour in order to "build bridges" with former communist and fascist leaders.. "in the spirit of jesus," said jaracz, coughing slightly over the "j" word, "we seek to bury the hatchet with our former enemies and bring them into the fold of snoop doggy dogg's loving organization.".

  the meetings included a judicial seance with adolf hitler's tormented spirit.. "provided that brother adolf is willing to back down from his assertions that 'hellfire is real, is really really real, oh, it burns' i can see a bright future in our clean organization for him.".

  the hellfire doctrine is un-biblical according to the wt, and assertions to the contrary are grounds for removal.. also, jaracz petioned the united states to allow him to pay a shepherding call on the imprisoned saddam hussein.

  There were a couple of brothers that I found disgusting when they came thru...........one always started his visit telling you how to pronounce his name, even spelling it..........and for the life of me, I can only remember his first name was Paul!! LOL! Then there was that cranky oldtimer he and his wife were both in their 70's...they came to our congregation and started an uproar about locking the door of the KH, and not letting late ones in. Also, he'd stop his talk and stare at whoever got up during a meeting........just staring them out of the main hall! It was demeaning. They had just served the Bedford-Stuy' area of New York City, so some of the paranoia was understandable, but, I disliked him very much. Then, there was the CO, very fat, bald headed, hearty laugh, who told racist jokes from the platform!!!! Our elder body had a nice long conversation with him about that one, I'll tell you! The CO I absolutely loved best was Darrell Marlowe and his wife Joyce..........they were missionaries in Africa during the 60's and Joyce got pregnant and they had to come home. He was the most loving, compassionate person I ever saw in all my time in the JW's. He was a hugger too, both the bros. and the sisters and you knew it was because he really loved you as a person. You could tell he'd done research about emotional and mental illness beyond the WTS, and felt the friends needed all the encouragement they could get. Wonderful people!

  i don't really understand why some people can be such idiots.

  how can people dismiss every other person's religion or belief as illogical while holding strong to their own illogical beliefs.

  i work with a few bush worshiping ultra conservatives.

  Descender, I have a couple of work mates that I've had to fight long and hard to get any type of personal "space" or respect from. Some of these old schoolers are unbelievable. For instance, this morning, I came in to work and the receptionist ripped me a new asshole because I took Wednesday off. I stopped and looked at her as she ranted about me taking more time off than any other person here. After she stopped, I basically told her that it was NONE of HER BUSINESS if I took time off. She was NOT my boss. She could sit there and grouch all day about how she has to do this and do that before she can have time off, but, bottom line, that is between her and her boss. I'm not responsible for holding her hand..............she complained she was the only person here on the first floor.............WAH WAH WAH! This woman is 65 years old! I ended by telling her that I was totally offended by her attack. Can you imagine anyone you work with behaving like that? The problem with the people in this building is that they all have their noses stuck into everyone else's business. There's jealousy and back biting all the time. I'm appalled by it all, and basically stay clear and in my own little corner by myself. I wrote an email to my boss informing him of her behavior towards me..........it ought to be interesting to see what happens now.

  Well, this thread helped me to clear a puzzle up in my own mind about something that happened recently in my own life. My mom had called whining about my sister and her mother-in-law and was given advice by not only sis but me that she needed to let the wrongs go that she has suffered from this woman so she can heal emotionally. Well, she went on for awhile about my sister telling her about owning her own power, and I told her yes, that she did need to do that. She had no idea what it meant, so I offered to send her some books on the subject. I explained fully before I sent them what they were, and even included a nice CD with recordings of hump back whale sounds on it. About 1 1/2 weeks later, I got the stuff back..........seems that she was horrified that I had sent her "demonized" books and my sister told her not to bring them to her house, and if they made mom feel uncomfortable, to return them to me. LOL! Even the CD! But, now I know not to waste my time sending her anything............oh, and I sent her a beautiful wild turkey feather which she accused me to my sister of calling her a turkey and wishing her dead................my mom has always had emotional and mental problems................so, tho I was angry, I also realized she was just whacked again.

  Yeru, please re-read this part of Simon's post again, because I, altho politically a big babe, even knew this part of him.

  He was already a violent, evil dictator who had seized power and had his opponent 'dissapeared' when they started supporting him.

  Let me spell my understanding/perception out for you: (we) agree that he was evil at the beginning, before we got involved. Everyone knew it already. (We) just feel that the US should not have gotten involved the way they did in bringing him down, surrounding themselves with a cloak of false righteousness and false information, i.e. downright lies. (We) are tired of people dying, on both sides. Do (we) have all the answers........well, I know I don't. <sigh> I guess it just comes back to whoever has the most aggressiveness, dominance and power will do what they want. As for me, I choose not to dominate or be aggressive towards another life.........that does not mean I would not try to save my life or another's if I can........it's been said before that thoughts have energy..........I guess we need to have enough peaceful energy to mellow any aggressive energy.........then we will have peace. We need to balance yin and yang, male and female, matriarchal/patriarchal systems/energy. Balance, not do away with completely. Balance.

  well, it started out nice enough, i asked for a list of charitable works, (for other than jws) where their soup kitchens were, how a magazine will put food on someone's table, i brought up the un, the pedo data base, the whistleblower dfings, hoping that they'd be interested in one.

  and a df'd sister that is still an outcast cause she won't grovel to the elders. She is the walking reason why I have no patience for this poor excuse for a religion.

  I am DF'd also, and won't grovel and go back.........not that I want to anyways, but, as I told my mom after she shared the comment an elder said to her about not talking to me so I'll learn my lesson and come back, why would that make me come back? If anything it will just drive me further away, as you said, conditional love. My sister won't talk to me, and won't send photos of my nephews either.
