i wanted to know everyones opinion on him losing his show and his comments.. first of all i do think his comments warrant the cancellation of his show, but it should have never got that far.

when you are talking with family it should never leave the house.

it should stay behind closed doors.

She started screaming at me and calling me some very offensive names including one I needed someone else to explain to me.

When I lived in the city, and I was walking to the corner store with a black friend, somebody walked by and said "stupid cracker" to me as he walked past us. I had no clue what that meant, and my friend said they would explain it later when we got back to my house. When I heard what it meant---I burst out laughing. It seemed SO silly to even SAY that to someone like that!

I would also like to say that I LOVE the Bounty Hunter show and watch it all the time. I DO hope this can all be resoved and we can get back to watching a unique TV show!

This "Tucker" should have known better than to sell the tape to TMZ or whoever it was....and Doug should have known better than to spout what he did to the kid. Tucker and his loyalties should be examined.....because this girlfriend will most likely be a thing of the past in a few months....but his FAMILY is going to BE his family forever.

I got that dreaded call....

my ex sister in law called me this morning to tell me that bother had shot himself.. he was raised a witness but stopped going at 18. he was my favorite brother always level headed and smart.. except lately.

apparently he has been robbing banks in ca this summer.

he led the police on a freeway chase and decided to shot himself instead of go to jail.. now i am wondering how well i know anyone at all anymore.. .

After Effect of Flu Shot

i got my flu shot on halloween.

.

it didn't hurt a bit - then.. now my arm is killing me.. i'm getting old.. sylvia.

our shots are free via the county,

We got our at my doctor's on my usual three-month checkup.....and we were charged for them. They go for $30. I also got the Pneumonia shot this time too.

The only time I had a severe reaction to a flu shot was back in the early 70's when I got the shot to prevent "Swine Flu". It was coming and supposed to be very bad....and they were giving out free shots to residents at a vacant store in the next town. So I went and got one. I was the only one in my household that got one----thinking I was so smart and informed and all. I figured if any of the kids brought this flu home from school---at least there would be ONE healthy person to take care of them. (har-de-har)

A few hours later, I began with the chills and fever, tremendous aches and pains, and was "out of it" for the better part of three days. It was awful. I would hate to have the "real thing" if this was what the preventive measure" was!

Nobody in our family came down with this Swine Flu, and nobody we KNEW did either. Hubby says it was probably a government-financed experiment that we will NEVER ever discover what it was really for.

Call me a guinea pig for Uncle Sam.

I had my flu shot a couple of weeks ago....and my arm throbbed for two days. This is the first time I had this happen---this badly. It is my fourth year of getting a flu shot. Hubby got one at the same time and never felt a thing afterwards (and he would be sure and let me know if he HAD )

I wonder what the difference WAS?

Did you have "a personal relationship to Jehovah"?

remember how it was always stressed how important it was to "have a personal relationship to jehovah"?

that those who got disfellowshipped or disassociated themselves because of what members of the org.

had said or done, or failed doctrine etc., wouldn't have done so "if they only had had a close, personal relationship to jehovah"?

I was a typical JW lemming that followed what the WTS told me was "pleasing Jehovah". I was totally uneducated in the bible when I was contacted in a "poor" section of town, in an apartment block, and had just given birth to my fifth child in ten years. I was looking for something to cling to....and the WTS "new system" (as we called it back then) just fit the needs to a tee. I THOUGHT I was being taught what the bible said....because that was why I accpeted that "free home bible aids study" so many years ago.

I never felt the "close personal relationship" that apparenty, others were experiencing. As with many other examples...I always figured it was something that *I* was not doing right, or was failing AT doing. I BELIEVED it when we were told that WE were the happiest people on earth; that only WE were "approved" by Jehovah, and that if I kept striving and struggling to fit into what the WTS said to do.....that it would all work out in the end somehow. Any feelings of peace and comfort were in my own mind because I so desperately WANTED them to be.

It wasn't until I LEFT the WTS, had done some serious research and study OTHER THAN within the parameters of "WTS-approved" literature and THEN asked Jesus Christ into MY heart (and life).......did I begin to see the vast difference in a "personal relationship" with my Lord and Savior; IT WAS NOTHING LIKE what I had spent the previous 30 years to develop while attempting to fit the mold that the GB had set before me.

Speaking for myself, I can say that as a JW, I did NOT have any personal relationship with an IDEA of who or what "God" was supposed to BE. Everything I learned from Day One, was contrived and cleverly geared to lead to adoration FOR the organization. I never "grew close" to that man-made organization.

I don't think I have ever posted a "goodbye" (even when something said has upset me).....but I HAVE quite often been involved with posting at other boards and have not checked in on JWD very much. I ALSO must say that this forum is "home", it is where I feel the most comfortable....and will always feel the most attachment to.

GONNA GET CORNERED TONIGHT

how yall doin?.

all my relatives are in town tday,from south texas, at my moms, fixin to get some dinner, and they will all come at me, where have you been?, not at the hall?.

and i took my kids trick or treating last nite, i know they wont shutup, the little ones are 9,im just gonna keep asking for more pie!!!!.

I don't want (nor mean to) come down as too hard on you, but I have to wonder WHY you would take your nine-year-old kids out to Trick or Treat on Halloween and THEN shortly after, take them to a family dinner where they will be expected to keep quiet about it! Isn't this going to send very mixed messages to them on "what pleases God", etc? (Or at least cause some relatives to say some very unkind things to these little ones!)

Most kids that age are bubbling over with excitement about what they were dressed up as, and so forth (ESPECIALLY if this was their first experience)....and to expect them to be silent on all this...kind of baffles me. Unless I am reading this wrong, you are placing THEM in a very awkward and uncomfortable situation.

Either you are "in" or you are not. This will cause a lot of unnecessary discomfort for everyone involved. I hate to ask you "what are you thinking"....but it HAS crossed my mind.

Personally speaking, I have no problem in trusting the bible----it is the men who write for the Watchtower that I do not trust AT ALL! Their complete past history is one of idiotic interpretations, stupid blunders taught as "present truths", and foolish speculations, has spoken for itself.

but i'm willing to consider christian belief systems.. just recently i've been studying the jewish kabballah (qabalah).

Thank you DiamondBlue and Sirona for your reply on the "sacrifice" info. I do not know who "Horus" is......nor do I actually intend to study up on this to find out. It simply holds no interest for me and I have many topics that I have on hand to look further into....that DO interest me. (I don't mean that to be sarcastic: there ARE so many things to look into and research that are "right up my alley" so to speak) But I did find it of interest that there do seem to be many correlations that you spoke of.

Briefly, another question: We believe that Jesus gave his perfect and sinless life on behalf of us.....are there pagan gods that claim to be perfect and sinless that come under this "rebirth for the good of mankind" as you related to?
