WHY does discussing this poisoned "spiritual food" from the banquet a Jehovah's table.....always make me feel sick?

OBVES and Reductio ad Absurdum
by Farkel inobves,.
given that 1 = 0, i can prove that i am jesus.
add 1 to both sides of the equation: then we have 2 = 1. .

Don't make fun of OBVES, he is a very sensitive guy and might hurt his feelings and then won't post anymore.

I think he will get his when 2012 comes, thereby proving every single one of his threads totally wrong.
ROFL!
You dont think a little thing like THAT will stop his madness, do you?
He has been predicting this stuff for YEARS now....he used to be on (probably still IS) a group I used to post at years ago called ARJW....always with the "dates that fell through"......like I didn't have enough of THAT in the WTS!
And here he still is.........always the clown.....bringing fun and amusement to us all....

No Excuse to Shun Families - Almost Lost my Son Today
by Gretchen956 ini had such a shock today, its almost bizarre, my son was involved in an accident at work.
he's an ironwoker, which means he works the high steel on skyscrapers and such.
today he was working and tied his safety harness off to the cable as usual, and went to work.. lots of times they have to lean out and rely on that harness to keep them secure while they reach out to do whatever the hell it is they do (best mom's don't always know all), and today his dumbass bosses didn't have the cable attached on one end.

to the JWD person who sends erynw hatemail
by eclipse inas much as i hate to make a new topic for a low-life like you - you need to read this.. there are people in this world who are born to hate and to suck the life from others.. those people are the blood-sucking parasites that thrive on hurting, and abusing others.. those people are rapists, pedophiles and sadistic sociopaths without any moral fiber or conscience.. you are among that classification of sub-human vermin devoid of empathy love or compassion.. you can quit telling eryn to die already.
you can quit telling her that she can shoot herself in the head just because you are a friendless person without anyone to love them.. you are pathetic.
people like you disgust me.

This is the third time this week that I have been moved to say that as much as I don't think anything that another would do would shock me....some thing and some one DOES.
I am SO sorry for our dear Eryn to have to go through this, what with everything else she has on her plate.

We had a lot of oddball restrictions here in the northeast.....things about blood in Wonderbread and blood in certain hot dogs or brands of chocolate, etc. How about that stupidity that went around concerning Proctor and Gamble? We heard nonsense about Smurfs and Cabage Patch dolls too. I was such a dork and followed all these ridiculous "warnings".....never realizing that the warnings my nonJW friends had given me when I began to "study".....were what I SHOULD HAVE lisened to!

Shock at the Doctor's office...
by Odrade ini had a routine doctor visit this morning with a primary care.
she happens to be someone i saw once about 9 years ago during a brief swap in insurance providers.
shortly after that visit, our insurance changed and the doctor was no longer on the "approved" list.

Thanks for the heads up, Odrade!
I can't recall just what it was that I read on here a number of weeks ago....but it prompted ME to stop in at the medical records dept the next time I was in town. The first receptionist I saw at the desk, was a little cool about pulling up my records and said that no matter WHAT it said on them---that when the time came---that they would ALWAYS ask if I changed my mind and DID want blood products.
My husband piped up and said yeah but---that if I was unconscious, and he was not with me to speak for me, and this was still ON my records---what THEN! She just grumbled something unintelligible.....and HE made the remark (very loudly too) that he didn't care for the "looks" she was making OR her attitude either! I about sunk to the floor in embarrassment (I HATE confrontations andI would have just let it go).....but he was right! The ladies in the office were a bit more pleasant when we got back in there....but then---THEY were only a few feet away when my hubby voiced his opinion, LOL!
We really HAVE to check and make SURE that we will not be held to a bad decision we made when we were being obedient to the men in Brooklyn. It IS very important!
hugs,
Annie

Christmas Card exchange?
by bem inhas someone started a christmas card exchange list yet for this year?
we did this in the past and it was such fun to get all the great cards.. .

Ian...I can MORE than appreciate what you have said.....we're finding it a bit overwhelming too. I told hubby yesterday after the last batch of cards came in----that I may never "do this" gain, but I wanted so much to do it this year and to see all the places these cards would come in from. (I think it softened him up a bit :o)
I received one card with a darling picture of three very cute kiddies....and don't know the screen names of the parents that send this out! I have gotten several cards with just given names, but no clue who they are HERE on JWD! I was able to figure ONE out because of the state and the first name added at the end of a post, LOL! The cards are lovely, and I would dearly like to know "who" sent them, ya know? I don't KNOW a lot of your "real names" and we may have talked on JWD for years!
I have also gotten SUCH an array of exceptionally BEAUTIFUL cards this year! I mean----they are really quite gorgeous! LOTS of ooohs and ahhs as they are pulled from their envelopes! I had bought a pretty Christmas basket last year to put the cards in as they arrived---but I am thinking I may just pull them out of there and tape them all over the archway between the diningroom and the living room so we can actually SEE them when going back and forth from the kitchen to the livingroom, haha! They make me feel so happy inside! (My
get well and "thinking of you" cards are still perched on my computer desk!)We have had a few days of icy (and now very snowy) weather and just had the driveway cleared out, and I have not yet been able to get out to GET the stamps I need ! You folks are SO PROMPT at this---I haven't been AT this very long---but I don't usually mail them out until the middle of December! We have not gotten ONE from a family member and only gotten one from a lady who is NOT on JWD, LOL! SHE has always been our "first card" of the season in the past three years and hers came in on Saturday, the 1st of Dec!
Blah....I was up early (before it got light) this morning because I wasn't feeling the best....it s now light and I just glanced out the window.....it is snowing again.... and quite heavily . I may NOT be getting stamps any time soon! But know that I love you all....and I and MOST appreciative of all the wonderful cards that have come my way in the last few weeks. You folks ARE the best! My heart is VERY full.

Purps....I had five kids too when I stopped celebrating Christmas. My baby was just three years old....the oldest was 13. I threw out ALL the precious little handmade Christmas decorations and things they made in school, one was a huge painted Santa and reindeer that must have been eight feet long...done on that brown paper the kids used to do those big school drawings on.....it has broken my heart every year at this time when I think about it. The son that painted it is now 48 years old. It still tears me to bits.
The weird thing was....that I am the type that never throws ANYTHING out....I always saved things the kids made. It scares me at times, at just how "under the spell" I MUST have been to change my behavior that way. How MANY of us did things that we never thought we would do....and are extremely sorry for having been sucked into this cult? How many of us were tallked into doing things that were not "us", or reflected who WE truly were?
