so be careful.......there may be one out of ten.....or a hundred or a thousand......... and even the unreal one was pretty real....but had major issues..............oomps.

we are a very small club......compared to udders..........

Oh.....I recall a few years ago there was an apostafest (something to do with crawfish I think?) down in TX and there was a cam on in the kitchen showing the festivities with the party-goers there from this board. I ate my heart out, stuck up here in upstate NY, ....LOL I SO WISHED I could have been there! I do so miss so many of the "older" posters that I grew to think so much of.

A poster named Mike who lived in England hosted some fabulous apostafests there too and the pix that we got to see looked like SUCH GREAT FUN. Seriously---I used to think that if I was able to do so and had the money....I would fly to these apostafests and meet as many posters as I could!

There have been some real oddballs that have turned out to be not quite who or what they said they were.....but for the most part....I think that folks here that have been "regular posters" have been pretty honest about representing themselves and their situations.

wife and i had a bit of a spat about this a few weeks ago.....i blew her mind that i felt like things were so great around us........i guess i only recently understood how dubs think things are so so horrible in daworll around us........i never did...never......i loved school!!

!......damm those were good friends that i lost after graduation......dammit........i am finding a few back on facebook and such.... she and prob most dubs think all else in daworll is soooooo evil.......but damm........here in the states i can walk most of it without a care in the world......my neighbors are good people...they care for their fam and friends just like dubs do .......and do not commit crime.

i told wifey that if daworll were sooo evil there would be full prisons about every two miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once the horrific WTS scales had been lifted from my eyes, I began to realize that *I* had pulled *myself* away from everyone and everything non-WTS-approved....including the many people that I most certainly would have enjoyed knowing and being enriched by.

As I eased back into the human race once again......I saw so many opportunities to be OF help to others and to BE HELPED by others....and not necessarily in a "religious" way. I have been astonished and so warmly surprised at things that near strangers have done for me or for someone close to me.....and my faith in others has been restored a hundred fold since leaving the hideous WTS mindset. At the WTS bidding....all the trust I had chosen to dismiss (and ONLY allow to other WTS followers) was brought back into the proper focus again, and the constant "living in fear" that the WTS placed us under.....has been revealed for just what it was: a fear tactic by a cult.

No, the world is not all a trip to Disneyland.....but it is not a demon-infested swarming underworld either. There are countless warm and loving people out there who are not looking for any harm and are genuinely fine folks through and through. I am not always thinking, hoping, praying, living FOR and putting my life on hold for "the end of this system" to deliver me into a world of self-righteous WTS followers to live forever under WTS requirements. No thanks. I choose to live the best I can NOW, in freedom and loving ALL others that are looking for the same basics that make us all human. It's all in the attitude.

I have been shunned several times in nine years. The worst time was at a nonJW relative's gathering after the funeral and my JW BIL walked around to each and every person there, hugged them or shook their hands, and made a big gesture of walking right past me while I was standing there. I let him get about a few yards away from me and said "GOODBYE, XXXXXX" so that everyone could hear. He turned around, ignored me and walked down the path to his car. He was most likely quite proud of himself for being SO obedient to the GB.

I have been at the Post Office, the local Drive In theater, the grocery store, Rite Aid, Walmart, Big Lots and the One Dollar Store when coming across the snubbing and sneering WTS followers. We have a Family Auction house that opens about every six weeks and I sat directly in back of a whole flock of JWs out on a Wed night....that passed right by me several times to get cold drinks and to use the rest rooms....all with their "noses in the air" routines. Living in a small town does have it's disadvantages when everyone knows everyone else's business .

WTS defenders on boards like this....will ask "when will WE ever let it go, get ON with our lives, and stop being so angry with the WTS".....and I have to wonder just when THEY will stop behaving like self-righteous jerks and "let go" of their intense hatred of anyone that does not worship the Watchtowergod as they do.

MY SISTER IS NO LONGER ALLOWED TO PIONEER

my sister, a devoted jw of many decades, has chosen to attend another church.

she has been given a period of time to come to her senses and get back in line.

hopefully, she won't make that mistake.. the way she's being treated now by her former friends and leaders caused her to remark to me, "i never realized before how much they are like a cult.".

Wow....that picture of Christ was just SUPER and shows exactly the joy he feels when a lost one finds him and GOES to him!

How wonderful to hear yet another WTS adorer has left the coldness of this cult and found comfort in the Risen Christ!

I was asked to leave the table...an incredible shunning experience

there was a social event and i was invited to attend.

the event was by a kindergarden school that my 3 year old child had a play.

after the songs and theatrical plays by the kids food was served.. .

I have had two of these experiences since walking away from the cult nine years ago.....and it IS amazing how such a small group of men can so strongly and hatefully influence such a large number of people into behaving like cold and compassionless idiots. It takes a long time for these events to fade from our hearts....and it takes a bigger and better person to realize they are doing the bidding of Satan with their deliberately insulting actions.

Doing to others as you would like being done to you.....has obviously been cut from the NWT, along with many other scriptural thoughts on showing and demonstrating kindness to others.

Hugs to you and hugs to us ALL who are forced to live with these hideous cult members poping out of the woodwork.....wherever they may happen to show up to put their "petty show of self-righteous pretentiousness" on for everyone to see.

I had been out of the WTS for a few years before I had the pleasure of meeting Mouthy online. Something she said in a post to me.....really changed my thinking on a very important topic and it has now changed my life. It was only a very few well chosen words....not preachy at all....but JUST what I needed to hear at that particular moment in time. An entirely new appreciation towards Christ was born in me that day.

Grace is a truly a very special lady that I have met in person, cherish as my friend and will treasure always.....and welcome to our newest JWN poster!

My neighbor's daughter hung herself

when i got home from work tonight i was told my neighbor's daughter had commited suicide.

the daughter lived several hours from here and i had only met her a couple of times over the years, so i didn't know her at all really.

from what i understand the daughter had struggled with substance abuse problems for a long time.

Only one who has been in that deep dark pit of total and seemingly endless depsair, could begin to understand the emotions that encompass one at this time. They can not SEE any possible way "out" of whatever problem they are dealing with. It is the worst.

My heart goes out to anyone that has taken his/ her own life, and know what devastation it leaves behind to the survivors that now are living with the aftermath.

Ones that are this young have not even really begun to live yet...and here they are gone. I trust that these poor and troubled deceased ones are now finally at peace forever.

The Today show on Monday, June 15

my 14 year old grandson will be on the today show on monday june 15 as he begins his walk to washington dc from orlando, fl to raise awareness about the enormous number of homeless children in this country.

it will air if all goes well... they have changed it a couple of times know, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.. in case you haven't read about his cause, his website is www.helpingstepbystep.com.

i'm leaving massachusetts later today so i can be there for the kick off.... coffee .

What a terrific and beautifully selfless young man he is! How very proud you must all be of his efforts and his loving heart. Thanks for posting this....it is always nice to see GOOD and POSITIVE news about others.

Have you ever done something to show your disgust with the Kingdom Hall?

this one time, the night they disfellowshipped my sorry ass from the christian congregation smerk smerk,i came strolling back from a beer bar and had to pee in a major way so i stumbled my way next to the entry door of the hall and let loose with at lest a picture of rolling rock beer after it was filtered through me kidneys, it still makes me proud..

My act of rebellion showing MY disgust was to vow to never set foot in any Kingdom Hall or WTS-assigned sales meeting ever again.

I have written firm but polite letters to the newspapers to advise the unsuspecting public of the pedophiles that are allowed at their doors to promote their "pure religion". Among many other topics, my letters also have dealt with the shunning issue, the disdain for the Military, and the idea that celebrating Christ's birth, death and resurrection are all "displeasing" to their Watchtowergod.

I wrote a letter of disassociation from this cult, explaining WHY I was so astonished and appalled at discovering what had been going on behind all our backs...all those things that were so well hidden from us before we were baptized into the phony religion. I sent copies to the PO, the CO and the WTS headquarters. I am sure no one cared....but at least MY conscience was clear and MY integrity remained intact....even when theirs was not.

If there was a way to approach each and every Watchtower follower and personally scrape the scales from their eyes for them to clearly see the true glory of Christ....I would have surely done so.
