I thought so too, til I wrote posts to forums and letters to the editor all over the U.S. only to have most of them either deleted or told that my posts were "inflammatory"!!!!!

I included URLS and links to sites like silentlambs, etc, and the negative replies (back to me) from Editors and deletions from sites like MASSLIVE.com and SYRACUSEONLINE.com made me crazy.

I FINALLY posted that I guess NOBODY CARES about Witness kids being molested, or maybe their relative's kiddies if they were JWs or were "studying" with JWs.

My posts were deleted within 10 minutes.(sigh)

I then wrote post to one forum and asked WHY it was okay to discuss the pedophile Catholic priests (on the SAME forum) but when I post websites about the JWs, who come into their neighborhoods and knock on their doors, wanting to gain ENTRANCE to start "home bible studies" who merely RELOCATE known and admitted molesters to a new area to "knock on more doors"........doesn't this ALARM anyone?

Guess what?

No reply.

It is extremely frustrating, to say the least.

There WERE some folks on a couple of boards (one is "FRAY" @ msn.com) where my posts met with some enthusiasm and thumbs up, but when I kept mentioning the "Dateline" coverage........well.......it began to take on the dynamics of (cough) "It's right around the corner, it's right around the corner,it's riiiggghhhtt aarroouunndd......."

I'm not blaming anyone for the waiting game (well, maybe the lawyers at the Society <grin>), certainly not Bill Bowen, or anyone on the side of "let's GO with this program", I'm just venting, I guess. I have been MOST anxious for the members of my immediate family who view me as pond scum, to SEE what filthy secrets and illegal practices that the "policy" upheld and enforced by the WBTS has DONE to nice people all over the world.

We HAVE to keep hammering away at whoever will listen, or wherever we can post the TRUTH about the Watchtower. Even if it ISN'T popular and readily accepted, at least we have the inner satisfaction that we KNOW we gave it all we HAD...to expose this hideous "coverup" of JWs who prey on little kids and GET AWAY WITH IT!!!!!!!

JW's Claim the Truth...Where's the Proof

ok, i'm a senior member, but still 'new' to this board.

since i'm not a jw or ex-jw, can someone please explain to me how jw's trace their 'authority' to be the true church that god set up.

a jw friend of mine said they go back 6,000 years.

Totally Betrayed By A JW

when i was an active jw, my closest friend was the wife of an elder who had been disfellowshipped because of an affair with a pioneer.

i loved her and we got along great together.

i considered her my very best friend.

My "betrayal" made about as much sense as Beck's!

We had only been in a WV congregation a couple of months....I had invited a family up the road to dinner (hubby wasn't a JW but the wife and 3 kiddies went to the KH) The sister brought a 1/2 gallon of ice cream, which I put in the freezer and totally forgot about.

My oldest daughter had made a cake, and we served that for dessert....nobody said a WORD about the ice cream.

The sister had bought an article of clothign for her daughter, it didn't fit, it DID fit MY daughter, so I wrote her a check to pay her for it.

A few days later, I get a call from the Elders to set up a meeting about how I stumbled her worldly husband......(my first and only committee meeting in almost 30 years, mind you, LOL)

Seems that hubby was insulted cuz I chose not to serve the ice cream HE bought....we wanted to keep it for ourselves for later (are you KIDDING me?)

Apparently not, cuz I also was accused of fraud.....the check I made out was TEN CENTS less than what she had said the price of the clothing was.....NEVER said a word to me when I wrote it out.....

Such LOVE and warmth.....GAG!

Wanted to say "sorry" to Metatron as well.....it makes my blood boil!

Dateline Update

i will not be able to answer all questions raised or try to defend the basis of the statements made in the dateline update.

i can say that we are getting very close to an airdate, so close i can taste it.

If YOU are satisfied with the way this is going, despite the delays, what more can we say??

I've posted your site and Tallman's in well over a hundred letters to editors, city forums, other forums like FRAY @ msn, and countless others for weeks ans weeks now, only to have most of the public forums delete my posts in minutes.

I was up til 3:30 this morning, got SO many postd...all were wiped out when I logged on at 9:00 AM...grrrrr.....

I was really steamed and posted that apparently nobdy CARES about their kids or families (if they get sucked in by the smiling JWs) or they don't care about the little Witness kids either....who NO ONE is protecting at present!!!

ONE person came back and said *I* care, thank you......so I quickly posted the URLS again and left.

On one forum, I asked the "deleter" just WHY they felt it was alright to discuss the Pedophile Priests, but NOT the Pedophile JWs!!!

They deleted it :(

Go figure....

Thank you for getting this ball rolling....I can't imagine how many frustrating days YOU'VE endured!!!

JW couple beats daughter to death

i just read this article in the chicago sun times.

when i started reading the parents were religious and then saw home-schooling, i had a gut feeling they were jw's.

i read on and found out i was right.

This is the first post I've read here in two days, I went to the article and got totally furious....I wrote this to the Editor;

I am sickened and appalled at the death of Laree Slack at the hand of her own parents.
One only has to read that her mother, a Registered Nurse and a Jehovah's Witness, bound and gagged the girl before her father, also Jehovah's Witness, beat her to death, and the credibility of this religion's tenets loom as extremely frightening.
Not that this changes the fact that this poor girl died, but the REASON for this savage beating? Because a smock was missing? Did I misread it?
Aren't these the same people (Jehovah's Witnesses)who repeatedly enter our neighborhoods and try to persuade us to accept their "brand" of religion as the only one that has God's approval?
Maybe it's time that this religion be more carefully scrutinized by local agencies everywhere, children shouldn't BE subjected to this treatment!

Mispronunciations at the meetings

moxy raised a point in the "exaggeration" thread that aggravated me at the meetings.

mispronunciations.

moxy mentioned the word 'hyperbole' as frequently being mispronounced.. another one that bugged me was 'epitome'.

One particular word that made me wince was someone saying NY-a-sin for the month of Nisan.

Another that I'll never forget was one Elder always used to say Haggy-eye for Haggai, it never failed to make me have to hide my grin or bite the inside of my lip. All I could picture was some really old man with a toothless smile, and one watery eye bigger than the other starin' at ya! LOL!

I've been trying to decide if I should post the names and dates of the three suicides in my (former) congregation. I wouldn't want to cause any problems or add to the pain of the families of these victims. It could really be another slap in the face if they happened to see this thread and find a family member's name online like this.

I'm willing to share this info privately.....

The Bristol assembly hall scandel

is there anyone from the area who remmbers the story of the 30,000 spent on trees for the vist of a gb memmber.. i dont know the exact story as it is now about 7 or 8 years ago but i heard it from several people that worked on the hall.. apparently a gb memmber was to come to britian to dedicate the hall (i cant remmember which one).. the brothers in charge wanted the hall to look nice for his vist.but the land around was yet to be landscaped.. so brothers enquired as to the viability of planting some trees but were informed that it was the wrong time of year and they would die.. the cost of the trees was around the region of 30,000.plus the amount of free labour from the brothers in planting them.. anyway the big bosses of the scheme decided to ignore the professional advice and planted them anyway.. they all died.. 30.000 pounds of money from old ladies, pioneers and little children as well as ordinary publishers went down the drain for the gb's visit.. nice to know they used our money wisely.

Wouldn't ya just love to have packed THAT up and taken it home!

MY main "beef" was with those highly polished marble FLOORS, all looked like an Italian villa or something, but were SO dangerous to walk on! I slipped and slid on many occasions and saw lots of kids and sisters fall on them.

Have you ever seen a running toddler fall and smack their head on that
rock?

Then they had to have helpers scurry around with buffers-on-a-stick to rub out all the scuff marks that marred the floors. Many times I secretly wanted to grab a sander and put some serious traction down just for safety's sake.

I can't even imagine what all that flooring must have cost when something more practical but just as attractive could have been used, and a lot easier on the "budget".

(But didn't it LOOK beautiful and bring praise to Jehovah's name though?)

UN involvement announced at Assembly?

i heard from someone that the wts was going to or had already announced something about the un involvement at an assembly.

anyone else heard of this or is it a local thing ?.

i would guess they may have only done this because of the coverage in the uk national newspaper which they know they have to counter.
