7 Reasons Why “Babylon the Great” was Jerusalem
by Tiresias inauthors david chilton (1987) and james stuart russell (1878) propose that the revelation is primarily a prophecy of the destruction of ancient jerusalem by the roman armies.
the revelation is jerusalem's armageddon (mountain of assembled roman troops).
i see the revelation as a war siren warning the first century christians of the imminent destruction of the city.

Revelation 21 the disclosure of the bride .aka the New Jerusalem, shows the Jews had first right of refusal to the promises made to them to be a blessings in the heavens to th nations, and is just another recapitulation of rev 7:1-7, rev 14:1-5 ..I'm assuming the spiritual building started just after 70 AD when the old temple was destroyed.....and apparently will descend in a future time period ,,,,,,NOT 1914 LOL ;)

Chris Tann -***Therefore I lean toward the understanding that the 144,000 were the first Jewish Christians of the first century before the fall of Jerusalem in 70c.e****
i agree, it's the same message as In JohN 10:16
I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd. the little flock is the LIMITED amount of Jews that accept Jesus as the Christ, then the message when to the Gentiles where a great crown accept Jesus as their a a Christ... the WBTS GB would be fortunate to be considered worthy of a court yard position, like the rest of us plebs :)

A few questions for believers
by keyser soze inwhen confronted with all of the inconsistencies and atrocities of the bible, many believers invariably claim that they don't base their faith in christ on what's written in the bible.
so what is the basis then, if not scripture?.
and please don't tell me "the lord has revealed himself to me".

I found this interesting, I hope this helps...." strip of revelation and end up with Deism"
One of the cornerstone ideas of the Enlightenment was to give every idea and assumption the test of reason. When they applied reason to religion they found it necessary to strip it of revelation and they ended up with Deism. Deism is belief in God based on reason and nature. The differing alleged revelations of the various revealed religions are conspicuously absent from Deism. It is a natural religion as opposed to a revealed religion such as Christianity, Judaism, or Islam.
----
i wake up a deist every morning in my cranky old man state and gradually give way to a higher power(Christ) to escape my devils within, which makes me more bearable to those around me ;)

recapitulation - 7 Cycles in Revelation
by Pterist inthe chart provides a summary of the whole book, supporting the theory of recapitulation.
this view suggests that the events in revelation do not all form a continuous series but the series of sevens (seven seals in rev 6:1-8:5, seven trumpets in rev 8:6-11:19, and seven bowls in rev 15:1-16:21) repeatedly bring us to the end of the world, when christ comes in judgment to either reward or punish.
as noted earlier, even the interlude of revelation 12-14 begins with the first coming of christ (rev 12:1ff.

The chart provides a summary of the whole book, supporting the theory of recapitulation.
This view suggests that the events in Revelation do not all form a continuous series but the series of sevens (seven seals in Rev 6:1-8:5, seven trumpets in Rev 8:6-11:19, and seven bowls in Rev 15:1-16:21) repeatedly bring us to the end of the world , when Christ comes in judgment to either reward or punish.
As noted earlier, even the interlude of Revelation 12-14 begins with the first coming of Christ (Rev 12:1ff.) and ends with the Final Judgment (Rev 14:14-20). There is"chronology" in the sense that within each series of seven (the seals, the trumpets, and the bowls), and also within the interlude of Revelation 12-14, the reader is brought to "the end." Thus, once again we see that a chronological reading of Revelation is not possible.
Interesting stuff ....
