Riley Trust accounts - royalty income for the WTBTS closing on 1 million dollars per annum now
by dozy inhttp://990s.foundationcenter.org/990_pdf_archive/386/386043103/386043103_201204_990.pdf.
continues to be a good little earner for the wtbts - donated 750k dollars in 2012 & the royalties seem to be rising year on year.
i just wonder how much knowledge of this income stream the average rank & file jw member is aware of when they are increasingly called on to pay for the wtbts building projects..

I am still mad about this... so fricking mad! Some JW's don't even believe you if you tell them they sold it to a church (and are actually saying you are lying!)

Was Job a Righteous Person?
by DeWandelaar ini was reading a passage from "the book of jasher" in chapter 66 which i want to share with you:.
14 now therefore our lord and king, the eyes of all egypt are upon thee to give them advice with thy wisdom, by which they may prevail over israel to destroy them, or to diminish them from the land; and the king answered them saying, give you counsel in this matter that we may know what to do unto them.. 15 and an officer, one of the king's counsellors, whose name was job, from mesopotamia, in the land of uz, answered the king, saying,.
16 if it please the king, let him hear the counsel of his servant; and the king said unto him, speak.. 17 and job spoke before the king, the princes, and before all the elders of egypt, saying,.

I took this version:
Faithfully Translated
FROM THE ORIGINAL HEBREW INTO ENGLISH
"Is not this written in the Book of Jasher?"--Joshua, x. 13.
"Behold it is written in the Book of Jasher."--II. Samuel, i. 18SALT LAKE CITY:
PUBLISHED BY J.H. PARRY & COMPANY
1887.this is one of the apochrypal Books of Jasher . There are several (as many as five) separate works by this title, all composed much later than Biblical times. This particular one is a translation of a Hebrew book printed in 1613. Sepir Ha Yasher, the Hebrew title of this book, means the 'Book of the Upright', or 'the Upright or Correct Record'. This title was misread as 'Jasher', and at some point Jasher was treated as a proper name; however the pronoun 'the' (hebrew 'ha') never preceeds proper names.
There is also another spurious Book of Jasher, published 1750, in which Jasher is treated as the name of the author.

16 If it please the king, let him hear the counsel of his servant; and the king said unto him, Speak.
17 And Job spoke before the king, the princes, and before all the elders of Egypt, saying,
18 Behold the counsel of the king which he advised formerly respecting the labor of the children of Israel is very good, and you must not remove from them that labor forever.
19 But this is the advice counselled by which you may lessen them, if it seems good to the king to afflict them.
20 Behold we have feared war for a long time, and we said, When Israel becomes fruitful in the land, they will drive us from the land if a war should take place.
21 If it please the king, let a royal decree go forth, and let it be written in the laws of Egypt which shall not be revoked, that every male child born to the Israelites, his blood shall be spilled upon the ground.
22 And by your doing this, when all the male children of Israel shall have died, the evil of their wars will cease; let the king do so and send for all the Hebrew midwives and order them in this matter to execute it; so the thing pleased the king and the princes, and the king did according to the word of Job.
I am like: WOW!!! ... How on earth can a man that counsils to kill the firstborn of the SONS of ISRAEL be a righteous man in the eyes of the writer of the biblebook Job? Would Moses, who escaped this crime against humanity (and not to forget to the people of Yahweh), be writing what we read in bible book Job? Are we speaking about the same Job? According to the scriptures itself it is highly likely!
Read these bible verse please:
Job 1:1 says:
There was a man in the land of a Uz whose name was b Job, and that man was c blameless and upright, one who d feared God and e turned away from evil.
A big bit of a contradiction isn't it? Would it not mean that Moses wasn't the writer of Job (or Genesis for that matter?)...

Post New Light Magazine
by Kool Jo inso it seems that most persons just swallowed the'new-light' that was discussed over the weekend...the couple of persons whom i spoke to about it, responded this way:.
"we're grateful for these adjustments"..i mentioned to her that these are some huge changes and you can expect more in upcoming years...to which she replied "we can expect these things in the last days, besides, these aren't changes, they're just minor adjustments"...yup...it was a wtf moment for me...so adjustments and changes are words with totally different meanings.. 2.
"i'm so confused kool jo, do you want us to discuss it together, i really thought this is what we had always beleived in"...i said we can discuss it at a later time...quite interesting stuff.. 3.

The thing is that most people that attend meetings do not know shit about the contents of the magazines... most do not even study... they just swallow it in the hall and not even knowing what they swallowed. Some preach and throw in some mags at the people behind the doors and do not even know the contents since a lot of them do not even read them!
For me in the later years it was like this: I did not read the mags, came to field service, when service was there I was speedreading the contents and added some blah blah... that was it.
Many JW's knowledge is thus that they do not even know the most basic elements that are in the bible but are fiercely stating that they just know it is the truth... not based on wisdom or knowledge of the contents or something... when knowledge hits in it inevitable will be "game over". They do not WANT to have the knowledge a lot of other people have.
It is sad to come to the conclusion that most witnesses do not have any knowledge at all ... not of the bible... and not of the magazines... the only thing they know are some quotes that are drilled home and they stick with it their entire lives.

Circuit Accounts Servants Confesses how the SCAM WORKS!!
by JT inyes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.
i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.
as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?

To be honest... I have seldom given money to the congregations etc etc. If I gave around 200 euro in total it is a lot and i have been in the "truth" since childhood. I seldom paid a penny!

News reached me a couple of days ago of some big changes in The Netherlands for Jehovah's Witnesses. A letter from the branch office was read in all congregations so it can easily be verified by lurkers and faders who are still visiting the congregations.
Big changes:
- They are going to sell one of the two assembly halls. This is big news since they have this property for around 30-40 years at least. It is in a nice place near Utrecht.
- The district assemblies in 2014 will still be held in rented eventhalls. However... they will EXPAND the other assembly hall with a big hyper modern district assembly hall since they have bought the properties next to it. The district conventions will be smaller ones ( around 10 per year with aprox 3000-4000 visitors per assembly). EVERY congregation in the Netherlands will be attending district AND circuitassemblies in Swifterband.
- The most southern regions will be having their district assemblies in Belgium... they already had their circuit assemblies in Belgium (Bornem) so they are used with traveling there anyways. Since the bOrg do not have to rent properties this will mean a sincere reducing of costs. They also get a lot of support of the local governments and I even heared they will create ways for visitors to easily go to the assembly halls.
It is something that is happening all around the globe. Not only are they reducing costs by not renting big A-location halls but they also will collect a shitload of money for selling these locations. They are cashing out... that's for sure!

WHy Have You Turned YOur Back On The Messiah
by cassuk11 inok so you got out of the watchtower society after discerning it was false.
what is amazing is how many have turned their back on the king or was it they had no faith in the first place and the spiritual food they received did not help them stand upon a rock.
jesus the christ your saviour is a living breathing being with emotions.

First of all the title of this topic assumes that everyone has turned their back to the Messiah which is not true for a lot of people on this forum. It actually is the same as calling people ANTI-CHRIST (like the JW's do in their speeches these days)... Not believing the JW doctrine does not necessarily mean you turned your back to faith.
On the other hand: As I have said in some threads I personally have an open mind now... which in essense means that I am becoming sceptical to scriptures that were written around 2000 years ago and are full of contradicitions. It does NOT mean I am not openminded for a messiah or a God... I can only refer to what I have learned and I have seen a lot of things that were false.
I am not saying God doesn't exist... I am also not saying I do not want to obey God... But what I AM saying is that I want to have faith in someone who also communicates with me personally. Communication is a two-way thing. Communication is also personal which means that if a letter was not written to ME personally I can never ever say that the things that were in it were meant for me. So how on earth can I believe someone who I have NEVER seen or who never showed people in our time that he is alive? In other words: how can I turn my back to someone who I am not totally sure of he excists or excisted? I can only turn my back to someone who is there.
If God (or Jesus) would show me he exists and tells what he expects from me then I will absolutely obey him directly! HE knows I would!

Sometimes I kissed sisters on the hand (being the romantic guy that I am LOLZ :P). I once did it to a sister who could have been my mum and she just smacked me in the face at the foyer of the kingdomhall... she was scared (and I was shocked) as hell and found it very scary. Wow... I still feel it in my cheeks and it is about 15 years ago

New Zealand headquarters: Witnesses sell, Elim buys
by Fe2O3Girl inhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/local-news/manukau-courier/9124458/witnesses-sell-elim-buys.
it was the national headquarters for the jehovah's witnesses for 30 years.. but the 7.5ha wattle downs property has now been sold to elim church and could soon house a new christian college.. jehovah's witness minister george gray says advances in technology mean the property is no longer needed for running the church's new zealand and south pacific activities which will now be administered from australia.. elim church bought the property for its growing south auckland congregation and volunteers helped transform the site in just a matter of days.. pastor boyd ratnaraja says the congregation moved in on a sunday straight after morning services at their much smaller weymouth rd premises.. "they have done a superb job of setting up," he says.. the church will hold services for its 450-strong congregation at its new home as well as running counselling sessions and operating an op shop and a weekly soup kitchen.. "we believe in reaching out to the community.
we want this to be a centre of hope.
