Good vs Evil

i was wondering lately... what i do not really understand:.

if there was only perfectness and goodness in the beginning of the world, why was there even knowledge about good and evil in the heavens?.

If there was only perfectness and goodness in the beginning of the world, WHY was there even knowledge about good and evil in the heavens?

Genesis 3:5 says:

5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

and

Genesis 3:22-23 says: 22 Then the Lord God said, q “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand r and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden s to work the ground from which he was taken.

If we were made in the image of God... why did men not KNOW evil?

The only explanation I can make is that they (human's) knew the boundaries... but that they had not known (experienced it) yet... but if that is correct then in heaven "evil" had happened before (because it was already experienced by God and Jesus?

Am I thinking to much?

in an effort to keep their delusion alive it is only natural for them hate something that lifts the vails of their delusion and lay it barren.

their hate is transfered to the faithful rank and file and manifested in their forbidding it to the young who will surely see the ignorance of their delusion.

narcissistic delusions of divine appointment are resisted at the expense of the young.. they hate higher education to the same extent they hate psychiatry because both tread on their delusion and identify it in clear terms..

it also notes aob in excess of word count limit.. wonder if they did that to buy more time?.

i've been a lurker here and an inactive jw for a number of years.

i've always had some annoying doubts but brushed it aside but over the last few years i've had time to "think" away from the wt.

perhaps there is no paradise, maybe no god and this life is all there is.

Sheeps and Goats... People or Nations?

for jw's the scripture matthew 25:31-33 was always a very import issue.. i was reading this scripture lately in the new international version where it writes the following:.

the sheep and the goats31 when the son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.

32 all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

... the circumstances that led up to the incident ... so being in the wrong place and the wrong time might soften the verdict for a rapist and MIGHT make it pornei'a

... delay in reporting ... as if someone who is raped is going to report straightaway... most victims don't because of the shame...

It is so full of bullcrap I can't hardly read it all!

Poker is ruled a game of skill - not chance

so it is not straight gambling.

it can be compared to golf buddies betting on the game.. this will have implications for internet games.. if this is the case, why not intenet video games , like car racing, sports, shoot-outs...etc.

but with real betting?.

I play poker at a lot of rooms (including PokerStars) and for real dollars... not play money :P

You can be disfellowshipped because of it (although they seem less harsh about it)...

shunning and jw funerals

when a jw from your area dies, do you attend the visitation or funeral ?.

since i have da'ed myself, several people that i have known for years have died, and i have attended both the visitation, and or funeral.. but everytime, i have been treated like i don't even exist.

just trying to follow normal human emotions, by attending and showing my feelings to the surviving family has been alot like running into a brick wall.

I think it depends on the country and the region you are living in... the Df-ed people I saw when I was still active where never ever shunned... I talked with them and greeted them... everyone did... after that though it became "normal" to shun someone... which makes it hypocrit doesn't it :D
