I'm sure there has already been a thread started to pose this question. However, I'm curious as to a specific aspect of this thought. There have been various threads started inquiring about specific miracles performed by God. Some believe these events did not take place. Others believe they did and attribute them to God's power. Still others believe them to be only stories with an intended lesson from which we are to derive benefit. My question to all is this: If you were God, how would you prove your existence to your creation residing on earth today? (Sure sounds like it's coming from the WT)
** I must also add some criteria to this question. First, the proof must be given thousands of years ago and last until today. No additional proof can be given beyond 2000 years ago. Second, the proof must be able to measure up against science. If it can be proven by natural or scientific knowledge of our day, it is not valid.

Bible Error: Peter Denies Knowing Jesus
by JosephAlward inin the dialogue below, jesus scoffs at peters claim that he will give his life for jesus.
he tells peter that before the sun comes up in the morning--before the rooster crows--peter would that very night pretend he did not even know jesus.. .
readers should note especially that in the john passage below, jesus is predicting that the rooster would not crow until after peter has denied knowing jesus three times.. .

Interesting to note that Mark's account (Mr. 14:30) indicates that Jesus stated that Peter's denial would come before "the cock crows twice." After the denial, Peter recalled that Jesus had said "twice." Why would the Gospels record Peter's statement of how he remembered Jesus saying "Before the cock crows twice" if Jesus hadn't used the word twice? I don't see the discrepancy.

Dennis Miller.
The first time he told me a joke that used abstract references that no one could understand, I'd knock his a$$ out.
Then again, maybe Barney. Same result.

The Apostle answers some questions...
by TheApostleAK inprisca wrote:.
here http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=4561&site=3 you said the elders refused to let you get baptised.
that thread was dated april 19, 2001.. here's your summary of your witness life: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=5101&site=3 where you admit to never being baptised, and that you were a publisher for a year and a half.. so why go to the trouble of disassociating yourself when you weren't even baptised?.

I was a Aux Pioneer from Feb-Aug last year. I was baptised half way thru that.
Perhaps the policy in Australia is different, but last I knew, a JW could not hold the title of "Aux Pioneer" or any pioneer, for that matter, before baptism. One can only turn in time as an unbaptised publisher. Am I wrong??

We once had a CO that would come around and always make us sing the same song at least once during the TMS or SM. I can't remember which one, but I do remember that we all got so excited before singing that song. He would have the women sing one line, then the men sing the next line. Finally, we would all join in for the chorus. We were so bored with our songs that it took barely anything to make them exciting. Sad.
And who can forget: "From house to house, from door to door...."

Why the disrespect for Jesus?
by MavMan innow i understand completely that most in this forum are 100% against jws and the watchtower.
what i don't understand is the disrespect that has been shown for such a sacred occasion that is the memorial (last supper).
whether you agree with jws or not, the fact is that the last supper has a lot of meaning for christians.

rhett:
Why the disrespect? Easy. Why the respect?
Although respect is often a thing that must be earned, it is also given out of human decency. Rare is the case that someone will (without provocation) disrespect another's mother. It is avoided simply because it is the decent thing to do. For instance, would anyone on this board dare post a cartoon of a woman hanging on a cross and label it "bboyneko's mother?" I think not. We give respect for others that extends to those they hold dear. For many Christians, Christ is just as dear, if not more so, than their own family members. To disrespect Christ can be as insulting to Christians as disrespecting their mother. As was pointed out, Christ certainly does have broad enough shoulders to handle insults. This, however, makes it no less insulting to Christians. Just a thought.Yadirf:
Yeah that's it, walk right on in -- just as if you belonged there. Satan did the same.
Is it, or is it not an open invitation? Thought so. Have a nice day. -

those horror stories that parents tell their children to keep them from doing something annoying or potentially dangerous (e.g.
"your face will stick that way).

Personally I always try to avoid unwholesome association brought about by the heavy music of these last days. Rather, I like to ponder on simpler times such as when my father taught me parts of another language:
"Jeet-yett?? No-Ju??"
Ah, the good old days.
