I think they will need to start tithing. They'll probably dress it up as an 'adjustment' to the congregation pledging arrangement. After all, its just one more step up.
What else can they do to raise more money? Nothing I can think of right now...
i realize that wt has got a wind fall of cash through various means.
so my question is in the greater scheme of things is it really that much.
for example let's say with all their real estate and cash on hand they are worth about $20 billion dollars.

" and a mighty cry went out over all the land: "sell !

Cheers Darkspilver, its difficult to tell what has sold and what hasn't when the estate agents don't update their websites.
Either way, finding KH's for sale could end up being a good hobby!

ezekiel 16 gives a brief history of israel.
surprisingly, it has no resemblance with what we already know about israel—their origin and progress as given in the prophecy genesis 22:15-18 and also in the description that follows.
ezekiel repeatedly says (16:2, 45) “your ancestry and birth were in the land of the canaanites; your father was an amorite [descended from one of the sons of canaan (genesis 14:7), occupied large parts of southern mesopotamia, and their god was amurru] and your mother a hittite [ancient anatolian people who established an empire centered on hattusa].
Nice bit of research Anointed1! You would have thought that if all scripture is inspired and beneficial, the small historical details would be the easy part to get right.
..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.
So when I get to the paradise, my pet panda is going to DIE????
if scriptures are written by people who have no sense of justice, it is natural that god would be misrepresented—something that happened to the biblical god.
to mention a few:.
1) david, murderer of the innocent and faithful, wrote portions of the bible.. 2) paul who set in opposition to genuine apostles who were directly trained by jesus himself sarcastically describing them as “superfine apostles” openly declared in some places that it was not spirit, but he was writing.
So who decides which bits of the bible are relevant? You? The bits that fit your version of how life should be lived?
News flash! Its called cherry picking! Its dishonest. You should be asking instead: Why would an all powerful god ALLOW his precious book to become tainted by immoral writers in the first place? Did he allow it, or didn't he have control over it. Why is that? Cant or wont? Does he even exist?
By the way, waxing lyrical using floaty christian effusive language doesn't make you more religious or godly. It makes you come across as a bit mad. Just saying....

anointed 1: "Personally I feel that God exists, but He is not interested in receiving any worship or praise from us. I formulated this concept from the Bible:"
but earlier you wrote:
"This gave later writers opportunity to rewrite everything in the way they liked "
How can you formulate an opinion let alone live by it if it's been rewritten by man?
You're just spouting bullshit! Making it up as you go along. Then telling others about it. Keep it to yourself. Unless its backed by evidence. Which it isn't...
just popped on to see if december broadcast was up and it's not.. however, there is a new vid of bro.
morris addressing child abuse within the org.. https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodstudio/pub-jwban_201507_2_video.
This comment is aimed at the rank and file. "We are proud of our reputation". Arsehole!!
It gives them an answer to 'apostates' that bring up the abuse cases. Thats the sole reason why A Morris the turd says it. Damage limitation. In his own words, its despicable!
i picked up bernard cornwell's the pagan lord at the library.
historical fiction set in england after the death of alfred the great.
i'm loving it, especially the between-the-lines wit and sense of timing in cornwell's writing, and the complete badassery of the protagonist.
If you're into historical fiction, Ken Follet's Pillars of the Earth is a great read. Set in the 12th century, it sets a fictional family and village into historical events such as the Thomas Becket murder. He also wrote a follow up called World without End, set 100 odd years later.
two weeks ago i got an email from a friend saying that according to a recent prophecy, trump would win the election by a landslide.
as i dug into it, i found the following:.
