I wouldnt be suprised if the guy wakes up himself soon. Its only a matter of time before he runs across info that he cant just bash his head against and illogically dismiss maybe like a Greg Stafford sorta thing, but at least that guy tried to be civil and educated, this Daro guy is almost on a trolling level.

Jehovah's Witnesses: A Coercive Organization?
by john.prestor inso in sociology we divide organizations up into three categories or types, you got utilitarian, voluntary, and coercive.
utilitarian means people join to accomplish some purpose like selling food or making furniture, voluntary means they join up just for fun or to hang out with people like the freemasons or a lot of churches, and coercive means they don't really want to be there but they gotta because someone will punish them if they leave, so labor camps, armies, or prisons.. in a paper i wrote for a class a while back i argued that jehovah's witnesses should be seen as a coercive organization.
yeah, people join up and they do leave, nobody beats you up if you stop attending or preaching, nobody imprisons you, shoots your dog, kills your kids that kind of thing, and nobody makes you join up either.

"Are you the plumber?"
by Jourles ini've been debating whether or not to post this story simply because the org knows who i am (post history from pre-'05 will tell you all you need to know), and i'm not sure if they would give my parents shit if they knew what transpired earlier this summer.
but you know what, i don't care what they do, because my mom is dying of stage iv cancer and i feel this needs to be heard by anyone struggling with the loss of contact from their relatives.. for those who are not familiar with my background, i became a small thorn in the side of the wts while i was still in.
i'm not big on being deceived, and for me, the org crossed my personal 'red line' when it came to blood and the child abuse issue.

The Watchtower are Right About Blood...
by cofty in... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.

Strong work, a different view and reasoning probably most witnesses have ever thought of!

Then is Finished - The Mockery of God
by Farkel inin case you think you've heard it all, have you heard that the wts has made the following claims:.
1. they and other holy angels are god's wife, therefore the wts elite is the "mother" of christ himself.. .
" the wts elite, of course!.

Early Editions of The New Creation (Vol 6) on the New Covenant
by cabasilas inseems like i've read that the earliest editions of the new creation by russell taught that the new covenant was in force for christians of this era.
then after russell wrote that, he changed his views and put the new covenant as something future and not now in effect.
he then later changed the text in the new creation to reflect this new view (i've been told this was about 1909) and this helped precipitate what's been called the new covenant schism.

How to remain with Jehovah's Witnesses even though you are Awake!
by TerryWalstrom inthinking is an active process.. evasion is avoiding that action of active thinking which would create a positive difference.
.realizing the truth about the truth.. thinking is the virtue* man prizes most.
all other virtues proceed from thinking.. evasion is the willful suspension of one's consciousness.

Im assuming this is either satirical or an examination on what witnesses do who have encountered TTATT but let the cognitive dissonance keep them in?

"Lone Ranger Christianity"
by leavingwt insome may enjoy this thread at the channel c forum.
by jim penton, it's about what he calls, "lone ranger christianity".
there are quite a few responses there, in the ongoing discussion.. .

I fall in with agreement that being a "lone ranger christian" isn't the best idea. That was originally my plan when I walked away from the organization. Its not really a salvation issue by any means I would say. Its just extremely difficult. True there have been plenty who have had to be "lone rangers" through the ages for whatever reason but I find it so much more satisfactory and up building to be able to get together with others. Ironically enough I also associate the "Free Bible Students", the group in Lombard IL whose church is named the Berean Bible Students. They split from Russell and his crazier ideas way back in 1907 with the "New Covenant Schism." Also ironically enough I only just recently found out that Penton has ties with them as well. lol

christian millenial fellowship
by musky inhas anyone ever received the magazine from the christian millenial fellowship?
was just wondering what others thought of it.
i enjoyed reading it.

They still publish "The New Creation" bi-monthly. I receive it and enjoy it, it's not very large and easy reading. The Christian Millennial Fellowship changed their name a few years back to Christian Discipling Ministries International "to better reflect the work of building up fellow Christians to maturity in Christ, and there are now many free Christians congregations in foreign countries that have embraced its message and are actively spreading the good news."
Its through CDMI I actually found the "Free Bible Student" congregation I associate with and immensely enjoy. I think alot of times exjw's hear the bible student term and get scared of thinking pyramid charts and that nonsense (I know I did) but I didn't realize there were groups who broke of from the "Society" way back in 1907 due to some of Russells wackiness and they have spread all over and associate with one another without a hierarchy.
This probably best sums up what most "Free Bible Students" hold in common.
