What the new JW light position really is đź‘Ť
by ElderBerry ini’m still an elder and i consider myself jw light.
as my fellow elders are.
we don’t throw our weight around like elders used to in the past, it’s all very easy going these days.

It’s just the same in many other religions there are many who do Not believe it is true
So your entire belief system is based on what THE CROWD does or doesn’t do! The ideology you ascribe to reflects idiocy.
“Stupidity has been described as a powerful and destructive force that permeates individuals as well as society, and poses a far Greater Danger than evil itself. The reason being is because evil can be resisted using reason and moral Principles.
But Stupidity is virtually invulnerable to rational influence.”
“Stupidity manifest itself as Active resistance to Critical Thinking and a conscious refusal to analyze One’s own actions, ideas, and their consequences.”
“Such a person is unwilling to reflect doubt, or put his beliefs to the test. Unlike evil, which can be curbed through argument and persuasion, Stupidity is not intellectually amenable. It stubbornly resists awareness and shows no capacity for correction and change”
"This pernicious way of thinking that you have embraced, is embodied in the historical realities of authoritarian regimes, especially in the heyday of Nazism. Where Ordinary citizens with an ideology like yours, became the corner stone for the success of Nazism."
“The refusal to critically analyze and question the infallibility of authority, allowed the Nazi machine to commit atrocities on a grand scale without equal in our modern times. The destructive power of the genocide committed by the Nazi Regime lay not in the power of the regime itself,
But Rather in the lack of resistance on the part of people who lost their sensitivity to moral and intellectual demands.”
And this is why the Watchtower will continue to be the cause for many-many more innocent children to be sexually abuse. Because elders who wake up to all the atrocities the Watchtower is committing, continue to serve as elders for a corporation who continues to destroy hundreds if not thousands of children's lives.
It’s now easier than ever. There’s no real sacrifice and no real obligations just all the good things.
The blood doctrine for example seems to be getting a lot lighter compared to in the past
Regardless of what you say, hundreds of Mothers, Fathers, and underage children World Wide, will continue to commit suicide this year, unknowingly because “Elders” have to enforce the Blood doctrine because it’s still valid if you want to be a Jehovah Witness. YOU CANNOT BE AN ELDER IF YOU DON’T ENFORCE WATCHTOWER’S NO BLOOD TRANSFUSION POLICY!
“You are like Adolf Eichmann. Hannah Arendt (a German Historian) said that the worst evil in modern society does not necessarily come from “the most evil or monstrous individuals, but rather from the ordinariness of those who commit terrible acts without thinking of the consequences.”
“Ordinary people become agents of evil through blind obedience and the suppression of critical thinking”
“According to Arendt, Adolf Eichmann who was one of the Key Organizers of the Holocaust, was not particular evil, he appeared as an ordinary human devoid of moral reflection who thoughtlessly carried out Orders without regard to the Humans suffering his orders would inflict on millions of innocent humans.”
In the end, Adolf Eichmann kept insisting that he had no authority in the Nazi hierarchy and was only following orders.
He kept trying to pursue the judges that he was trying to lessen the pain the Nazi regime was inflicting on the innocent victims.
He tried to defend his actions with some of the Good he did for the victims. Even trying to lessen the punishment for many like you claim you do as an elder dealing with Jws in judicial committees.
The judges saw the hypocrisy and had him executed.
You can’t be Awake and willingly continue to be an Elder and say you are not as responsible for all the evil the Watchtower does. You can’t pretend you are helping people. You are part the of reason the Watchtower continues to exist. You will be part of the reason many will die this year because of not accepting a blood transfusion. You will be part of the machinery, that will rape, sodomize, dehumanize, hundreds of children this year and get away with it.
You are Morally deficient. You lack the ability to adhere to accepted moral norms or values.

carla -------I agree with what you said.
What matters is that those who continue to support the Watchtower in ANY WAY or FORM, continue to give them power to stay in business and condemn THOUSANDS to death with their no...
Blood policy
Shunning policy
Free labor policy
No Higher Education policy
Retirement disastrous Policy
Plus the MILLIONS of lives it has destroyed, including most that post here and threw 20-30-40-50 years of their life away, serving a criminal organization who sole purpose is to deceive people into believing they are GOD'S ONLY CHANNEL FOR SALVATION,

Like always, Money talks. This case was settled with the WT paying money to avoid prosecution before trial.
The WT members don't realize that by continuing to help the Watchtower with their Donations, The Watchtower will continue to cover up the sexual abuse of children by Elders in their Organizations. The Governing Body knows that their members are gullible stupid people who will continue to support them
And the Governing Body aren't as stupid as most exjws seem to believe. They know the ins and outs of how the Legal system works which why they structured their position in the Watchtower Corporation the way they did. They can literally run a child traffic ring in the organization and Get Away with it ....Legally.
The Hines case was stayed during the summer of 2021, along with other cases in Kings County New York. The Jehovah’s Witnesses sought representation from the Law Firm of K&L Gates, together with their in-house team of CSA attorneys. The case did not move forward into discovery and was settled in a confidential agreement between the plaintiff and Watchtower.

This was posted on the discussion whether the GB could get jail
This is what was the reply to the question; Does punitive damages mean jail time?
No, punitive damages do not mean jail; they are financial penalties awarded by a court to punish a defendant for particularly harmful behavior. They are separate from criminal penalties, which can include jail time.

This is a court case filed in August 2021 by the Zalkin Law Firm. Deborah Hines vs Watchtower AND the Governing Body.
What's interesting is;
"NY already set a precedent that an unincorporated group can be sued for its action and has specifically said this case can move forward.
Unincorporated means the GB are not employees of WT, are not members of the corporation, and don't own anything so they can claim to have no liability, but since they are recognized as a group having authority inside the organization they can be sued.
The individual members of the GB are named and will be subpoenaed to testify. NY is the correct jurisdiction where the GB was residing and where the abuse happened. The abuse occurred when the GB was still personally appointing elders before they threw the blame on the CO's, and the perp was a Bethelite elder working in audio video so the GB was directly involved in the cover up and appointment of the perp. The abuse was horrific, long lasting, with a partial admission of guilt (trickle truthing common in judicial committees) and the cover up equally horrific. "The incident included Sodomy, Rape, Forced Oral and Urinating in the plaintiff mouth.

Most men are afraid of their wives
Of Course they are!
Once you're married, you're stuck with whoever you choose!
Choose wisely or don't choose at all.

12 days ago 3 elders in Brazil were sentenced for disfellowship announcement which is against the law in certain parts of Brazil. The first article discusses that.
The second article discusses the outcome so far
In 2024, a couple in Brazil informed three elders that their names could not be announced due to data protection laws. Despite this, the elders proceeded with the public disfellowshipping announcement. In response, the couple filed a lawsuit against them.
On Friday, a Brazilian court ruled against the three elders, ordering them to pay compensation and issue a "proportional/similar” announcement in a meeting to repair the moral damage caused. More details are in the video below (sorry it is in Portuguese):
The elders are expected to appeal the decision.
Second article
A few points to clarify: Contrary to what was stated in the video, the Watchtower was also part in the case and was sentenced. However, the elders had different lawyers from the ones representing the Watchtower, they had to instruct their own lawyers.
The elders were also sentenced to announce in the meeting (translated as "service") that the disfellowship announcement of the claimants violated constitutional rights and that Jehovah's Witnesses are free to associate with them. Hopefully, this decision will help others in similar situations. The fight goes on.

The verdict is out.
After full understanding and decision by the State Administrator, full confirmation in the appeal case by the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs, three victories in the injunction case, a full victory in the district court, we now faced a loss in the Court of Appeal.
These are the kinds of things you always risk when fighting against someone who never gives up, who has unlimited resources to hire teams of the most expensive lawyers you can find, and lobbying forces that manage to get even human rights organizations like the Norwegian Helsinki Committee to take their side and work against our case.
I have not read the verdict, have not read the reasoning, have not seen what the consequences will be. I expect the State to appeal this to the Supreme Court, which JV would also do if they lost. In that sense, this does not have any consequences right now, beyond a little disappointment.
"Liv Inger Gabrielsen at the Government Attorney represented the state at the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs in court. She comments on the verdict as follows:
– The Court of Appeal shares the ministry's view that the practice of Jehovah's Witnesses towards children who violate the norms of the religious community and risk exclusion can be very unpleasant, humiliating and demanding, among other things because they can lose contact with family members and friends. Nevertheless, the court "doubts" that this is not psychological violence that violates children's rights, she writes to Vårt Land."
Unfortunately, the law has its limitations when you always have to deal with people who have no idea whatsoever about how such groups work. How language works, how control works. How total control over people cannot be transferred to written arguments in a completely different setting.
But no matter what happens, the point of this has always been public education, understanding, community, the desire for reforms, the need to tell our story. Establishing the voices of those who should never be allowed to have a voice.
The fight for the freedom to be able to make one's life choices without facing heavy, life-destroying reprisals from the same organization that received state support in our name.
That fight continues. If the Court of Appeal's judgment stands up to the Supreme Court, §6 of the Religious Communities Act is in practice stone dead and will never be used anywhere. If it cannot be used against JV and their detailed instructions for how defectors are to be punished, it will not be used against anyone else either. Then it must be rewritten.
The last chapter has not been written anyway.
Here is my comment in VĂĄrt Land:
Jan Frode Nilsen is a former member of Jehovah's Witnesses and has testified for the state in court. He is disappointed by the judgment.
-
I am critical of the judgment, but cannot go into depth without having read the reasoning. There is something about the sentence "it was not made probable either". If you can't prove Section 6 to a religious community that has written instructions on exclusion, then Section 6 of the Religious Communities Act is completely dead, he says.
He also points out that judges often have a different opinion of the matter than those who have lived in the religious community.
-
Law and religion are two worlds that collide, and therefore there can be differences in the understanding of how closed religious communities function, he says.
Nilsen clarifies to VĂĄrt Land that he has not yet read the reasoning of the Court of Appeal.
-
I have always expected that this case would go to the Supreme Court. The difference is that they enter as "winners", I had hoped to avoid that.

I'm new here and also to new to other exjw sites. I've seen several exjw say the same thing, that they are done with jw stuff. But eventually they come back. Not because they want to come back to Jehovah witness stuff. But because even if we are not interested in Watchtower Doctrine anymore, All of us,exjws or not, live in a crazy world run by people who are worse idiots than the Governing Body. And those people who have power over us, are worse because they use the law of their Countries against us average citizens.
The Governing Body gives us a glimpse of what a small group of men with total control over some 9 million people, can do to people with good intentions who are just trying to figure out what some Supreme Being/God wants from them.
Jehovah's Witnesses who "Believe" the the GB are good people, are just people that still haven't figured out the GB are just another part of the Human species who are just as evil as most of the politicians on the planet.
For many of us that have left, it gives us better insight on how to deal with situations when a few men are given the power to rule over us. We can't escape that because Humans still haven't evolved to the point where we realize the We Don't Need Rulers. People still want Human Rulers to tell them what to do. And as long as that's the case, we can help one another with input from each other.
I don't know anything from other parts of the world, but I learn from some here that live in a different part of the world. Unfortunately what happens across the Ocean thousands of miles from my home Might affect me.
So I always stay in touch with exjw sites. There have been many times someone, on an exjw site said something that has nothing to do with the Watchtower, but world events, that saved my ass in one way or another.
These days, the media cannot be trusted. You have to get information from different sources, and filter them until you find the truth of what's happening. That's what us young people who have left the WT are doing.
That being said, you might considering visiting from time to time to see what's going on in the World.
