I was thinking back on something my sister, she is a JW, said to me. For some reason we had gotten on the subject of AIDS and Africa. We got to talking about how many people have gotten it and have either died, living with it, or are affected by it. I told her, that I heard on the TV how some countries over there have been really affected alot. One of the first things she said was, "I'll be glad when Amageddon comes, that will fix the problem." So I thought to my self fixing the problem, by wiping out people. Won't there be more people dead that way? I have seen photos of death and destruction. It is not a pretty site. But that is what she is looking forward...MORBID. Her solution to the problem is to kill every one off.

ABOLISH THE SHUNNING. And restore families. Infact, tell their flock that they made a BIG mistake, and it is ok for families to beable to reunite families. Stop parents from forcing children to get baptised. A person should only get baptised if it is in their hearts.

Before I got married to my husband, I told him that I will never lie for him. So don't put me in a situation, because I won't do it. I told him if he ever done something criminal, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW. Now mind you my husband is not a criminal, he works hard for his money. Any how, he decided to test me out in the area of lieing. And I held true to my word. Don't confuse this with trust, I keep confidincal things quiet.

This is my very first year as a parent having a child in school. So all this is very new to me. lol. This is my very first year doing much of anything. (I'm newly DA) I do plan on getting involved more, such as voting. But I think I need to get my self more informed on things around me, so that I know what I am voting for.

I got some news today, it is about my son's school. In the town where I live they are building a new elementary school. They are doing some things that just make my scratch my head and say "What are they thinking?" First of all the school, put in a nice parking lot, and one of those drives that goes right in front. I think ok, there is nothing wrong with putting in extra parking. But I learned today that on May 15 they are going to have to be completely moved out of that building. School ends May 24. They said to get around that they are just going to change some of the off days to cover for the difference. Now I am asking myself, why in the world would they waist tax payer's money on a parking lot? I sure could see that money being used better some where's else.

Bizarre Urban Myth...have you heard it?
by Preston ini remember a couple of years ago when i was out in field service i heard a story (haven't we all) about a district convention in california where the speaker was invited to give a talk, and as he was standing before the platform, he unexpectedly began to tell a slurry of sex jokes, profanities, and stories about his sex life.
everyone in attendance was shocked, and after he was removed from speaking, an elder had to inform the audience that what happened was completely unexpected and uncalled for.
being that i was a jw at the time i had no use for critical thinking, so i thought every word of it was true.

Here is some odd things that happened at meetings in the past. About 15 years ago, a fairly young brother was giving his very first Sunday Public Talk. He was extreamly nervous, but he tried not to show it. On the very front row sat a 300 plus pound sister. She got up to go to the restroom. On her way back to her seat, she sat down. As she sat down, her garter snapped, and flew past, bairley missing the young brother's ear.
The second story happen during the ministry school. The sister, who had the #3 talk was pregnate. Infact she was a week past do. But as a "spirtual" sister she went ahead and did her part. She happen to wearing a maternaty dress, with buttons on the front. As she was walking up to the stage, one of her buttons caught on one of the brothers topay. But being so large she did not see the wig. (Every one else did) She sat down at the table, on the stage and looked down. She noticed, what she thought was a huge furry rat. She jumped up and screamed. The next thing happen, was that her water broke.

Hey I forgot about another suicide case. But I am not sure if this one will count. I had a cat committ suicide. Yes it is true, and I am not pulling anyone's leg. Let me tell you the story and you will know. You must know first that his hearing was good. He would go out to the road in front of our home, and lay down. Normally when an automobile would come by, any cat or any animal at that would get up and move. RIGHT! But not him, the person driving the truck or car would have to get out and pick up the cat and move him. We'll we thought that was weird, so we took him into the vet. Acording to the vet he was ok. No hearing problems, or sickness. Well about a month later the next door neibor was getting in his car to leave. My cat ran over to the car when he started, and layed under the wheel. I could not get there fast enough to stop the neibor from leaving. My cat was killed. So that was that, I never thought animals would kill them selves. But I guess some times they do.

Pets
by kilroy ini have noticed in a few posts lately that there have been negative articles concerning being owned by pets.
the only bound volumes i have are 1991 through 1995 and the only things i can find in the index are a few snippets in watching the world except for an article in the 1/22/93 awake which was quite possitive.. the negatives that i read are that pets take time and money away from service to our dearly beloved printing society.
can anyone give me some quotes?

HMMM, so it is not a good idea, the Watchtower says to have pets, children, or anything that takes precious time away from them. Sounds a bit like the BORG on Star Trek. What is the point in living if you can not enjoy life. Yea, sure babies will take up time, cost money. But just think when they grow up and have babies of their own. Then ain't that where the fun begins, with grand children. Me personally I could not picture my life with out my children. I remembered this couple in a congeration that I went to. The brother was sent to prison for not going into the military back in WW2. He got married to a sister. This couple never had any children, they said we can have them in the New System. Well the wife passed away about 5 years ago. And the husband, he is in his late 70's now. He has no children, great grand children. He is just a lonly old man now.
