  i am an active jw and was raised as one.

  i have been watching the site for a while and thought it could benefit from the opinions of someone who is happily a member of the jw's.

  i will not get into any argumets that lead to nothing except name calling, and will not talk with anyone who is just plain mean (plenty of them in here).

  Talking about bumber stickers on cars, dealing with religious issues. One day I was walking into a store, in the parking lot was this god awful color of a green car. I guess it was close to baby poop green. Well I guess the owner of that car was too poor to buy any bumpersticker. Because they had written in permant black marker all over the car. Things like Jesus saves, end of the world, and had a few scriptures written on it.

  Emergency !!!! Can Any One Help?

  this plea for help goes out to anyone in the st louis mo area.. okay this is the situation, my father and sister are both disfellowshipped and have been sharing an apt.

  since my mom and dad have been separated.. my dad was being kind to my sister who was in need after her divorce.. she was the typical jw just, high school education then depending on a man.

  dad agreed to let her live rent free till jan when she graduates from dental school.

  Hi Ranchette, I just came across your post today. I am a former JW, and will never go back. But I was thinking about how your father has treated your sister, his daughter. And it brings to mind, you know that scripture that the JW's use and it basicly says, "If a man does not care for his own, he is worse than a man with out faith." I don't think that are the exact words. But it is close. He and your mom, brought you and your sister in this world. And don't you think that a parent should help out their off spring when their are in dire needs. I don't know it that will help. But you could use it to throuw back at him.

  Anyone Remember The Chaperone Thing?

  back when i was a lusty young lad of 17, a certain sister caught my eye - i swear that she could make her eyelashes beckon - and i duly decided to pay court to said sister.. however, it was not to be so simple.

  round about that time, it would have been mid-60's, the wtbts were having a real downer on anyone who wore a short skirt (not me), danced the twist or grew their hair (me) over their ears.. but, the worse thing was still to come.

  folks, i am talking about chaperoning!

  Yea I remember that Chaperone Thing. And it sucked big time. But we figgure out ways around it. he he. And no one caught on. I fuggured that if we kept things clean in God's eyes, that should be all that mattered. But I remeber right after we was married, I mean that very night. We stopped a quick stop/gas station, to get so refreshments on the way home. We was doing the newly wedd thing of kissing in the car (necking), this sister walked by and gasped. She left very quickly. About a week later I ran into her, and she said, "I saw you in the car, and I am going to report you". I laugh at her and said go ahead. You should have seen the look on her face when the elder she reported us to. By the way that very elder was the one that married us. I just loved how the JW's are SO quick to judge. This time it back fired.

  it reminded me of a couple of things that happen in my youth.

  the first story i did not do.

  I was reading about how just before Halloween, kids will do stuff, such as throwing eggs at the cars, and all that other stuff. It reminded me of a couple of things that happen in my youth. The first story I did not do. When I was a JW, one of my jobs was to clean a bank. I had totally forgot it was Halloween night. Every so often the bank would shread alot of paper. It would litterly fill over 20 garbage bags. So this night, I also had to take out the trash, because the next morning was trash day for the bank. All was well, or so I thought. Early the next morning, I got up (I was pioneering at the time), and looked out side there was shreaded paper all over town. I thought, no it could not be. But sure enough, some body had found the trash that I had taken out. There was shreaded paper all over town, but the bank's parking lot look like it was carpeted with shreaded paper. So I had to get it all cleaned up (just on the bank's property) before they opened for busnesses. Took me 3 hours to get it cleaned up.

  Now to the pranks I did as a child. I live out in the country, and across our yard was a field of cows. When July 4 would roll around I would shoot bottle rockets at them. I remember I accidently got one rocket just a little to low, and one hit a bull in the butt. HE HE HE I know I was bad, but I was having fun.

  Jehovah is sifting the organization

  jehovah keeps sifting and cleanning out the organization.

  this board is proof of that sifting work.

  congratulations on being cleansed out of jehovah's organization because of your inmoral and prideful lives.

  Sifting......hmmmmm....When I think about baking and sifting the flour, is it not the good flour that comes out. And the bulky stuff that stay inside the sifter. Just something to think about.

  I'm kinda squimish over very gorie movies. But my favorite horror movies are Tremor, and Tremor 2. I hope I spelled that correctly.
