An AFL player here in Victoria Australia threatened to leave his club to pursue his religious convictions as a JW recently. A 26 year old and an un baptised publisher.

{It doesn`t sound like he was very committed to me }

Of course his contract was about to be renewed and he didn`t leave his beloved club to become a full time JW .witnessing from D2D

And of course it didn`t have anything to do with the extra money he was offered to stay with his club over his love for Jehovah.

You do not reach this standard of play being half hearted or apathetic about the game ,you have to be full on and 100% committed to the game .And it takes years to achieve that level.

All of which goes against the JW religion ,being competitive and taking the glory away from Jehovah by making a name for yourself.

Then again I suppose we all deceived ourselves while we remained in this religion rationalizing and excusing what we knew deep down was wrong.And trying not to notice it.

what do you think there hiding?.

Just think about the ARC that was conducted here in Australia with 1006 cases of child sexual abuse handled by Elders that were never reported to the authorities or police over the past 35? years .With a population of about 60-70 thousand Jehovah`s Witnesses.

Now compare that with how many Jehovah`s Witnesses there are in the USA and what the ratio is likely to be with child sexual abuses in the congregations their.

If somebody more adept than me can do the correlation I would appreciate it.

While I`m at it the ARC is due to give it`s final recommendations in mid December and in light of what has recently been shown on JW.Org that the two witness rule is non negotiable even in child sexual abuse cases ,I wonder how the ARC will respond to that statement.

Also the fact that Jehovah`s Witnesses will not get in bed with Christendom ,how will they get around a communal compensation of religions for the abused ? suggested by the ARC?

People Asking Me To Help Them Leave

i dont know if it's due to the last convention, the recent broadcasts, the internet or just plain fatigue - but since the convention i've had a few people contact me via facebook messenger asking how i am then cutting to the chase asking me what it's like "on the outside" or "how did you adjust after leaving?

" and asking me how they can leave the wt but keep their families.. my reply is always the same, i show real genuine interest and concern and listen to their situation.

then i suggest a fade, how to fade, to ignore or reject elders visits, to not talk about their doubts to active jws under any circumstances and finally point them to this site.

I think I know how you feel, it would make my heart glad to help JW "friends" and aquaintances in the 33 years of being in the religion to escape it. Kudos to you

I also believe that all of us on here are helping the curious and lurkers who come on here and other sites like this by our contributions to this discussion board by questioning and exposing WT doctrine and practices.

How many faithful old JW`s are now living in Christendoms retirement homes not being cared for by the religion they gave their life for.

it must be pointed out in favour of christendoms religions that they do not discriminate against people regarding their religious beliefs.

many old age jehovah`s witnesses are residents of christendoms age care homes.. isn`t this a conunudrum ?

they, jw`s condemn christendom as part of the world empire of false religion and they cast off their old faithful members to their enemy christendom , to look after them without lifting a finger themselves.. in the meantime they are raking in millions of dollars $$$$ in selling off real estate properties in new york and elsewhere around the world.

Jehovah`s Witnesses / Watch.Tower Society does nothing to look after rank and file members who have spent the best part of their life giving up their free time in spreading the message of the Watchtower into their old age.

They are then suggested to take advantage of the various Government programs to assist them.

The G.B.Jehovah`s Witnesses are Parasites / a Pox on modern day Society .

122 million dollars$$$$$ of taxpayers money down the drain when the the same result could have been achieved by adding this question in the Census that was conducted just a few months ago and saved 122 million $$$$ of taxpayers money that could have been used for other more important things.

Where are the brains of these politicians we have in parliament today ?Both major parties are to blame .

If you want to be a motor mechanic you have to do a course of schooling x amount of years and apprenticeship before you qualify to be a motor mechanic ,5 years or more.

To be a politician ? no experience necessary and they can enjoy benefits well beyond a motor mechanic`s service of 30- 40 years in the work force ,with only 10 or 15 years in parliament.

I have nothing against gays some of my friends and relations are gay and i have good relations with them but the way this Govt.has approached this issue is surely lacking.

It`s non binding and now the Govt. has to debate it in parliament which is anybody`s guess how that will go.

found this little gem when going through the daily texts.... so let me get this straight.... god knows your suffering really badly and wants to help.

he knows you feel like you're at your limit, but he also knows that you are not really - that you can handle some more suffering.

so instead of helping, he "patiently" waits till you are at your absolute limit, and only then does he help!?.

Aaarghh excuse me I take exception to that statement "only then does he help"The facts and history are proof that this is a big fat lie.It has never been demonstrated that a God , any God has ever intervened in human affairs on behalf of humans .(And please lets not quote the Bible here ) If your thinking about this lets have a more modern day experience.

i have been actively involved with the organization for a little over 10 years now.

i began studying in high school, got baptized and my family fortunately did not.

Welcome Splane ,the sad truth is if you leave Jehovah`s organization for any reason sooner or later all of your "friends" will soon leave you .

You don`t have to be labelled as an apostate for them to desert you ,simply stop attending meetings and field service and the fact that you will be deleted as a MS will set the rumour mongers/gossipers whispering about all sorts of reasons of why you are being deleted,coupled with the fact you don`t attend meetings anymore must mean you were DF and they will shun you.

Be prepared for the worst .

Make friends outside of the religion and concentrate on that and goals that you can achieve in this world.

when i do see her, it is brief, she never asks about my life, doesn't ask about my 4 children her grandchildren, doesn't ask about my grandchildren...her great grandchildren, she doesn't ask about my other 2 brothers that she is also alienated from, she doesn't ask about my brothers family.

she doesn't talk about the jw/org either.
