Just what is a "drove"?
You say JWs are leaving in them. Other people leave in them. I have never left in one because I do not know what one is.
Anyone have the answer?
Millie
many opinions have been expressed on this board as to what is killing the society today.
i am positive that issues such as the un scandal, the pedophile issue, etc.
are having a negative effect and contributing to a general slackening off and sense of malaise amongst the rank and file.

the guests have gone home.
you've opened all the gifts.
what surprised you the most about your first year of marriage?.
We were married in 1966. Thirty days after the wedding, my husband got his draft notice. After basic training, it was right to Viet Nam. We were 18 and 19 years old. Now just try to get to know each other when you are on opposite sides of the world. Later he was sent to Germany. It was a very rough time for us. We are now married 36 years. I really wonder how we made it those first few years.

think that farting and burping are sooooooooo funny????????
my son will be 9 in jan and my bf's nephew is the same age only 2 weeks later than my son's birthday.
my son (jessie) and chris (the nephew) stayed over for a couple days.
Jesika:
It's just beginning. Next they get into spitting. Why do men spit? Women can go all through life without having that urge. I find it most disgusting.
If my husband had done all that burping, spitting and farting when we were dating that he does now, there is no way we would have gotten married. They save it up for after marriage when they think it is OK. No wonder there are so many divorces.

i watched a movie on tv the other night called "the others" with nicole kidman.
it got me thinking about ghosts.
of course, my jw thinking automatically kicks in and tells me that its.........come on, you all know the answer.......demons.
I do. I have had a few experiences that have proven it to me. And no, they are not demons.
Millie
based upon your life and circumstances, were you easy prey for witnesses to get to you with their message?
were you going thru some trauma or bad times?
Yes. My baby nephew had just died and I wanted to know what the Bible had to say about what happened after death.
I was no longer active in the Lutheran religion and my husband was not active in the Catholic religion after his experience in Viet Nam. So we were ripe all right.

one beautiful morning an atheist was walking through the forest, admiring natures surroundings... .
he looked up and saw the trees swaying in the wind high above him and smiled... .
he saw the river glisten in the sun twinkle like a new born star and it made him warm inside... .
LOL at Heaven!
You tell him, girl!

Wait just a minute, don't go calling me a believer. I'm not. I just happen to have a sense of humor and I don't take offense at things that are just meant to be funny. Lighten up. I'm not mocking anyone.
Even when I was a JW I could laugh at cartoons that made fun of JWs. Smile. Laugh a little.

He thought to himself that Mother Nature had made a true and wonderful world...
The atheist had walked a little further down the track he had taken when suddenly a bear jumped out of the bushes only a few yards ahead of him and started growling, looking hungry and ran quickly towards him...
Seeing the big bear bounding towards him he screamed in horror and started running as fast as he could away from the bear...
Knowing that the bear would catch up to him and he had no chance, the atheist soon ran out of breath and in a few paces fell to the ground...
As the bears shadow fell upon his face and his paws come down upon his chest, the atheist screamed
"Oh help me God"
Suddenly the trees that he so much admired stopped swaying...
The river he loved suddenly stopped flowing..
And the sky opened up and a voice begun to speak..
"I am god, and even though you dont believe in me, I am here for every being on this earth"
The atheist felt relieved a little bit and asked god...
"Im sort of in this situation, Im only asking if you can help me get out of it"
God thought for a moment and said...
"I will give you one wish to help you and that is all, you may proceed with this wish"
The atheist thought about this wish for a moment and then spoke to god..
"Well, I dont really want to become a Christian, so I wish the bear to become a Christian"
God spoke...
"So be it done"
Suddenly the sky closed up...
The river turned back into its flowing glory...
The trees began to sway again...
And the bear clapped his paws together and said...
"Thank you God for this meal Im about to receive"
what are your thoughts on home schooling?
we had a few in one congregation i was in that practiced home schooling for their kids.
i kina think home schooling is isolationists and for loons.
My son found school to be very stressful and he was sick a lot so after 8th grade I home schooled him. It had nothing to do with him being a JW. He was a naturally outgoing social person and had a lot of friends. He got his diploma at 16 and went on to tech school and is a computer engineer now in Phoenix making $70K+. Not bad for someone in his mid 20s. He also has an internet business that he and his wife run.
I do know some kids that it did not work out for. It depends on the kid, the parents, the school system, the motivation, etc.
It is not a one size fits all either for or against it.
