Yes Elwood was in the room. First, when using the board, one is concentrating on the board, not looking around the room .Second, If Elwood were indeed a part of this game, he would have spelled it correctly. The board spelled it Lwood. The boards tend to spell how things sound.

Why didn't I warn the person about to be murdered? In a city the size of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one just does not know everyone. The board did not say where it would take place. Name and date only.

I found it to be a scary thing to fool around with. I would never touch one again. Not everyone has these same type of experiences.
I have no idea why that is. I just know what happened to me.

my brother, before he became a dumbdub said it happened to him - but he was pretty young and probably p'd.

And do you know this from personal experience? Yea, right.
When my husband and I were using it and a teenage neighbor we had just met asked us to ask the board his middle name. Now just how do you figure this is something we knew and our "involuntary movements" spelled it out? His name was Elwood. Neither of us had ever heard the name before but the board spelled it out. It also told us about a murder that would happen the following day. Names and dates. It all happened just as the board said. Yep, no doubt just all our involuntary movements.

Were you a witness when you first posted?

i've just been looking at the first post on this site page 668 or something.all the first posts seem to be from active witnesses, discussing things like the new system and when will the end come.. heres a question for simon first what was your intention when you started this site ?were you an active witness?.

when did things change and why?.

and for the rest , did this site influence you in any way ?.

We had already made our decision and had not been to meetings in several months. I was feeling like I was in limbo and "where do I go from here". I was searching the web for something to latch on to. This site has been an incredible learning experience for me. It has validated my feelings. I know now that there are many more out there like me. We are not alone.
So I would say, no, we were no longer considering ourselves to be JWs we I found this site.

protects abusers and commits abuse, itself.
I was raised in a large family that showed no love or affection. My mother had a cruel streak in her. She knew how to cause great emotional harm with just a few words. I grew up to marry a man who had been raised in an emotionally abusive situation, also. He took over where my mother left off. Then we both joined the JWs. The result. of course, was no self esteem, no self confidence, a weight problem, health problems, etc.
We are just recently out of the organization. My mother is dead. My husband went to counseling and mellowed considerably. And now I have found a web site that has been great help to me. It was recommended by someone who had been greatly helped by it also.

It might seem a little far fetched at first for some. I have worked with acupunture and had been exploring "energy therapy" so I thought I would give it a try. I have been using it for several things with great success. It is not for everyone, but I figured it was time to share.

can someone here tell me what the current policy is in jw conventions in terms of inviting the public.

is the public invited only for the special talk on sunday or can they come in at any time?

if a memeber of the public does come into the assembly hall, are they escorted or kept under surveillance the entire time or just a short while?

I guess I missed that one. I wished I had seen it. LOL. Essemblies were SO very boring that we hoped for some sort of disruption to make it interesting. I lived 30 miles east of Madison in the Watertown area and attended Madison assemblies for many years. And Janesville, too, of course. That is another story.

One year at the district convention some guy came in and got up on the platform and started yelling that he was "The Faithful And Discreet Slave". They really tightened security a lot after that. That was in Madison Wisconsin which is know for a lot of very strange people.

One of the 'Annointed' that I know is in her 50s. Another is in her 40s. There are others I know of in that age range also. Yep, the replacements keep showing up.
