Sign of the Last Days

in the sermon on the mount, jesus foretold that earthquakes “in one place after another” would be part of the sign of the last days clímaxing in the great tribulation.. what could jesus possibly have meant?

using a phone app nowadays, there are earthquakes detected in one place after another but is this what jesus meant and did they have so many earthquakes throughout the centuries affter his prophecy or are these modern day detected earthquakes unique to this epoch?

how can we be sure unequivocally that modern day earthquakes are part of the sign fulfilling bible prophecy?.

Many anointed that I know, thought they were “in the truth” as well, and embraced it.

What proof as to Ray being anointed? Because you say so?

Where are these anointed you know? How are they preaching and teaching the world?

Again, as I said if one was truly anointed, they would have never embraced something false believing it was true. They would have known it was false to start with if they tested it first.

And going back to Ray and saying something clicked and he was awakened, that is the case for most here and these are atheist, or at least don't believe the Bible. You don't claim they are anointed, do you?

Wasn’t Paul warning those that they were deceived into believing a lie? These ones, were not “blameless”.

Yes, it is said of them that they are deceived into believing the LIE because the LOVE OF THE TRUE was not in them. There is a judgment attached to believing the LIE. Judgment of death that is why it is said they will perish. This ties in with taking the mark.

10 and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, 12 in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.

Look at this translation for Matt 24:24-25 – “For false Christs shall arise, and false prophets, and will do wonderful miracles so that if it were possible, even God’s chosen ones would be deceived.”

Matt 24:24 [For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.]

They are under a strong delusion of the lie that “Jehovah’s organization”, an idol, will lead them to salvation. (Rom 1:25) God allows this sifting of hearts, this choice of free will, just as was the case in the days of the Pharisees.

2 Thess 2: 10-12 you cited above says that those that believe the LIE did not love the truth that is why they will believe the LIE. What that means then is those that love truth won't believe the LIE.

I think it is safe to say that TRUE anointed love truth, therefore they would never believe the LIE/be deceived, so it will not be possible to lead them astray.

Also, the MOL has not come on scene yet, so the LIE/test has not been put forth yet. The MOL is the same as the wild beast/8th king, KOTN, disgusting thing, KFIC, etc.

9The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, 10and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, 12in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.

Do you play the LOTTERY?

jw view gambling as a sin and sadly people get addicted to gambling causing them financial and health problems.

but is playing a couple of bucks a week on some lottery tickets actually gambling?

Wife and I went to Vegas, not so much for Vegas but because it was convenient to fly, and hotel stay there and then rent car to go to Grand Canyon. Her JW sister and brother in-law (elder) went too. Brother in-law mocks people as we walk through the casino going to and from our rooms. 'Look at all these people wasting their money', etc.

At one point we were standing around talking near some slot machines and near them there were some arcade machines and one of them was the claw machine to try to grab something. He and his wife would not play the slot machines because that was evil wasting your money gambling and as JW's they didn't do that.

Well wouldn't you know it, they had NO PROBLEM playing the claw machine. As I stood there and watched I thought what in the heck was the difference of him putting dollar bills in the claw machine one after another, moving a little stick around and then pushing a button, trying over and over to win a dumbass stuff animal compared to putting dollar bills into slot machine and pulling a lever or pushing a button, to try to win whatever the cash payouts were.

Now while that is true, it also says this about this beast:

5 It was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and it was given authority to act for 42 months. It was permitted to wage war with the holy ones and conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation... If anyone has an ear, let him hear. If anyone is meant for captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone will kill with the sword, he must be killed with the sword. This is where it calls for endurance and faith on the part of the holy ones.

In regard to the ch 17 beast/8th king coming to its end, you also say Jesus will do so. And again, I am presuming at Armageddon, right?

You also say the 8th king is the UN, and the 7th king will be the beast (ch 13) ruling during the 42-months.

So according to you:

Jesus comes at Armageddon destroys both the 7th and 8th king but throws the 7th king and false prophet into the firey like but not the 8th king?

Just out of curiosity, how/when do you think the KOTN and MOL come to their end?

BUT, there was just enough truth to lead all the anointed over the years into its trap, into “Babylon”.

Just in that statement alone shows that you are a very delusional person. All who became/become JW's had to have a study, accept the false teachings, get baptized, and preach/teach the false teachings to others.

Why would any truly anointed person accept false teachings and teach those teachings to others?

5 and no deceit was found in their mouths; they are without blemish.

4 Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement, but test the inspired statements to see whether they originate with God,for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Your so-called anointed within JW land are not without blemish, and there was deceit in their mouth with those false teachings. Something that would never have happened if they tested what they were being taught before accepting it as true.

When and by what means do you say the wild beast and the false prophet get thrown into the fiery lake?

Do you believe the UN is the beast in ch 13 who gets the said 42-month authority?

When they have finished their witnessing, the wild beast that ascends out of the abyss will wage war with them and conquer them and kill them.

Ch 17

The wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction.

These have one thought, so they give their power and authority to the wild beast.

the difference is too big for them to be the same.

Actually, it is the opposite. The similarities are too close for them to be different.

The death stroke on the beast is the going into the abyss. The healing of the death stroke is the coming out of the abyss.

The 10 kings giving their power and authority to the beast is the said 42-month authority the beast is said to be given.

When the beast is said to come out of the abyss, it is said that those who admire it with amazement, etc., that not one of their names will be written in the book of life.

Likewise, the same is said about the beast whose death stroke gets healed.

The first woe should then be described in the next chapter. It is about a 5 month long period of locusts that torment people, but do not kill. It looks like for me that the second woe could be the coming 42 months

That is correct according to what is written.

The 3 woes are trumpet's 5, 6 and 7.

Trumpet's 1-4 and events with them take place before these last 3 woes. The locust event occurs in the 1st woe, then in 2nd woe the 42-months occur and then AFTER the 3rd woe comes, which is Jesus coming with the kingdom- Armageddon.

The said 'one hour' is referring to the 'hour of test' that is to come upon the world. That time of test is the 42-month authority of the beast.

Beast in 13 and 17 are the same.
