What`s wrong With American Politics ?
by smiddy3 inwhat`s wrong with american politics ?.
96% of american people who got off there arse to vote, chose hillary clinton to be president of the united states of america over donald trump.. and the electoral college overode the will of the majority of the people who bothered to vote , and gave the office of president to donald trump who was the 2nd choice, an also ran , of the will of the people.. it`s a furphy to say that some larger blue/red states can dictate to smaller red/blue states or vice versa to rig the elections ,simply because people can, and do change there preferences in any one state whether it be traditionally red or blue.. both democrats and republicans are both guilty and responsible for the gerrymander that is the electoral college.. there i`ve said it ,.
nobody else seems to be able to say it how it is ,.

We have the Electoral College for the same reason we have two houses of Congress. (One based on state population and one where all states have an equal voice)
It was to prevent small states and sparsely populated states from being completely drowned out and silenced.

The 1950s NWT (1984)
by HowTheBibleWasCreated ini did a video on this subject once but feel this is a noteworthy topic.
to be honest the old nwt has come under sonsiderable attack from fundie morons attacking it's nt which was translated with a few revisals in 1950.the truth is john 1:1 and 8:58 and other texts, though despite being odd, are within the translation rules as are the inclusion of the word {other} since this was stated in the forward as an interpolation.
jehovah in the nt is odd but certianly lacking as other translations have added more yhwh.. so the ot?

Dr. BeDuhn disagrees strongly with the insertion of the name "Jehovah" in the NT, pointing out that no translation that bills itself as literal has any business making that kind of assumption.
He's sympathetic to the NWT because he's weary of the Trinitarian bias in Bible scholarship, as a lot of us are.

It's a peculiarity of human nature that groups that on the surface appear to be very close often have a huge amount of antipathy for each other.
If you've ever seen Hopis and Navajos interact together you know exactly what I'm talking about, but the phenomenon is hardly limited to those two groups.
Race (Or the perception thereof) is only one of many reasons why humans decide to dislike each other.

But on further investigation ,I find that both the Republican party and the Democrat party are both happy to leave that situation as it is , and as far as I can tell so do the majority of the American people, all I can say then is.
Yes. And in the same vein, Republicans have been perfectly happy with absentee / mail-in ballots in past.

So what`s the bloody point of giving the American citizens the right / privilege to vote if the Electoral college can overide the majority opinion of voters?

1914 a doctrinal lie that created an entire religion the Jehovah's Witnesses
by Finkelstein inwhen you think about it the jws was foundationaly created upon a single core doctrine which was created close to a 100 years ago, that is the doctrinal year of 1914 .. the leader(s) of the ibsa in 1919 proclaimed that jehovah had selectively chosen them or him as it were by j. rutherford, they also self identified themselves as the anointed class the faithful slave.. from all of these expressive endeavors a new religion sprung up eventually calling themselves the jehovah's witnesses.
years and decades followed where more and more people were lured into the faith making themselves subservient devoted members as well, some also identifying themselves as the anointed class.
the jws proclaimed through their leaders (gb) that they were true loyal witnesses to jehovah's will and purpose, but were they really ?

In 1919, the late Russell was believed to be the faithful and wise servant and this was taught at least until 1923.
In 1928, Rutherford claimed that the Society (i.e. The anointed as a company) was that servant and this idea, with minor modifications was taught until fairly recently.

Anyone seen this? Seems to be a startup JW site for leaning languages
by Funky inscanning thru the usual jw sites, i saw a link to this site:.
https://www.talk2practice.com/.
looks like a standard language-tutoring site, right?.
-
TD
It just seems so sketchy, from beginning to end
It does. Or at the very least, unprofessional.
It says you need a basic knowledge of the target language to participate.
Okay, what would that be? A2? B1? B2? Maybe even C1?
The site doesn't use the basic terms of language learning.

Were JWs Right That There Would Be A Time When Governments Would Go After All Religion?
by minimus inthey have predicted this for years.
religions of the world would become attacked by the governments.
the only difference is when they go after jehovah’s witnesses, then jehovah god will step in and destroy the governments..

Were JWs Right That There Would Be A Time When Governments Would Go After All Religion?
No.
The JW claim was that governments would turn on all religion, making it "devastated" and "naked."
Religion is too basic a human need for that to happen. Sure there are authoritarian regimes here and there and people who dislike religion in all forms here and there, but the idea of it happening around the world is ridiculous.
Imagine how that idea would play out with any of the three Abrahamic faiths, for example. Christians, Muslims and Jews have happily died for their religions for thousands of years. Imagine how the idea would be received in the Middle East, where the distinction between government and religion is debatable.

It seems according to this doctor that there was always a cure for Covid 19
by pistolpete inthe media like cnn msnbc, nytimes, etc.
have incentives to scare the public and encourage lock down--blame trump.. democrats also have incentives, to lock down the country—blame trump.
there were incentives for hospitals to report every death as a covid death------30,000 us dollars funded from the government for every covid death reported by any hospital.

I was talking about other countries. As in Israel. And Germany. And the UK. And Japan. And Canada. And Finland. And France. And South Korea. And India. And China
American politics does not dictate medical practices for the whole world.
