  Why Bother?

  we who actually look at wt history know that they just changed 1874 to 1914 without a fanfare.

  setting up the potential for changing any dates to new dates because "holy spirit" told them to do so.. which makes me ask, why do we bother to watch what they do?

  i mean, we don't care having escaped their greedy little claws.

  in south africa, they are calling for complete genocide of white people.

  Earnest would obviously know much more about it than me, but living in an arid climate myself, I have a couple observations

  Drought recovery is gauged in reservoir capacity vegetation health and soil moisture levels and not by seasonal flooding, which is actually a common problem in drought stricken areas. (Because excessively dry soil doesn't hold onto the water like it should)

  In a similar vein, measuring agricultural output in dollars, is not necessarily accurate, as high food prices typically go hand in hand with drought. (If there is another way to reconcile the apparent contradiction between the two articles, I'm not sure what it would be.)

  If someone today wrote an apocalyptic story featuring a nation symbolized by a woman dressed in a flowing red, white and blue robe with a stars and stripes motif; a sword in her right hand and a bald eagle on her left, everyone would instantly recognize Columbia and the nation she represents.
  

  --Never going to understand why the same common sense does not apply to Revelation or why anyone would assume that they and not the target audience are the target audience.

  i am watching the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of ve day.

  80 years since the defeat of nazi germany in 1945. i find the interviews of the stalwart men and women who played their part very moving.

  these veterans speak with pride and sadness about their experiences, those they lost, those they fought alongside.

  In a similar vein, it's been nearly, 90 years since that generation was stood up at a convention and told clearly and unequivocally that they were the "Great Crowd" of Revelation.

  --And yet the JW's still call this a "bright flash of light". and no one (apparently) can see the problem here.

  there are some things we don't know about existence and whether the earth is a simulation or even a creation.

  but we can do some statistical analysis on it.. the probability of a planet like earth existing in the goldilocks zone and having a moon that perfectly eclipses the sun is extremely low, but it's not impossible.

  the habitable zone (or goldilocks zone) around a star is the region where a planet could potentially support liquid water on its surface.

  Probability (The branch of mathematics) has nothing to do with past events. Once an event has happened, the outcome is certain.

  Even from a purely semantic standpoint, I think the question is unwittingly changed by knowledge of the past event. For example, if 1000 people enter a raffle, the odds of any randomly selected particular one of them winning (all other things being equal) are 1000 to 1.

  However, once the raffle is over and person A has won, some might assert that the 1000 to 1 chance has indeed occurred, at least for person A, but the original question has now subtly been changed..

  The original question: “What are the odds of any randomly selected particular person winning” has now morphed into “What are the odds of person A (the actual winner) winning”

  The odds of the actual winner winning are, or course, 1. Once an event has happened, the outcome is certain.
