Is College now wrong for Jehovah's Witnesses again?
by booker-t ini have been out of the jw's for many years now but i still have devout jw's family members.
and i am attending college now at 40 yrs old working on my ba degree.
i was so happy a few years ago when my jw mom told me that the wt is slacking off on telling jw's teenagers that college is bad and it is ok to attend college and universities.

Two sisters just like that came to my door two weeks ago. BTW I took it easy on them, the lead seemed like such a nice old lady.

I enjoy the takeoff, the acceleration in a jet gives me quite a thrill. I can only imagine what it would be like in a fast plane, like a fighter jet. MMMM...G-forces....

District assemblys have traditionally been held in Ogden, about 40 minutes north of SLC. Even the mention of going to one of these makes me cringe...oh, the horror...

"And war broke out in heaven" - Why and how?
by truthseeker ini don't know if anyone has brought up the subject of "the war in heaven" before, but i have a few questions.
maybe leolaia could help out with this one.
revelation 12 talks about a war in heaven - now this is not just any war.

I wonder if the war in heaven was like the battle between Superman and General Zod. They were all indestructible but nevertheless had to knock each other around times square and such. You know Michael delivers a whallup to Satan and he goes flying thousand of light years into some planet, destroying it spectacularly. Then Gog comes roaring back and tackles Michael into some star and they get up toe to toe slugging it out, but not doing a damn thing. The God is like, "you kids, thats enough!! It took me a billion years to make that star! Thats it! Satan you are out of here...."
Makes for a good story anyway.

I'm Happy Today
by Why Georgia in.
well today is my wonderful husbands' birthday.. when we were first together he didn't want presents, cake, no celebration at all.. last night he was so excited about his gifts he opened one in the middle of the night.
he wants pizza for his birthday dinner and to go out for ice cream instead of a birthday cake.. i just feel happy that he's come so far and doesn't see birthdays as some evil happening.. wg

The guilt about holidays and birthdays is one of the hardest things to let go of. Sometimes the guilt with linger for years even after you have made up your mind about leaving. It definately sounds like that may be in the past for him now, congratulations! The elephant is dead...

Could the Spirit world have helped your exit from the religion?
by free2beme inboy, this might be that can of worms i meant to keep closed!.
i was thinking about something though and wondered what your thoughts might be.

I myself am very much a skeptic. I would congratulate you however on your desire to explore, and ask questions. You are now free to do so and it is the only path to knowledge. Isn't it wonderful?
