by Princess inmy husband and i have a friend who credits the lord with every good thing that happens in his life.
he is really a nice guy, unmarried, no kids and is now in remission from non hodgkins lymphoma (again, credit to the lord).
what do you think about people who credit the lord for every good thing that happens to them?

It seems that most thinking Americans know to say "God bless this and that" because by invoking the name of God, they invoke the righteousness that goes along with it, and by associating the nation with God, they osmose the divine authorization that will be required to bring infinite justice, er, enduring peace to the planet.
It would be logical to disassociate our or any nation from any divinity whatsoever, but then there goes the moral justification to strike back with righteousness, for both east and west. To strike back without God and divinity on one's side would result, and would only be interpreted as, retaliation. Nobody likes that word in this day and age, particularly pop psychology and new age thinkers, who associate retaliation or martial punishment of any form with "stooping to your enemy's level".

How Do OLD AGE JWs Feel?
by ballistic ini just want to know if jws that have been in the "truth" all their lives, having given all for the "kingdom" die in peace or whether in the autumn and winters of their lives, they are stung by nagging intrusive thoughts... "i have given my whole life to this organisation and where is the new system?".
i ask because these people were taught they were in "the last days" when they grew up many decades or even a century ago.
how can someone go that long believeing it was going to be tommorrow?

Even if they're cognizant that they pissed their life away, they still have the assurance and cushion of many younger generations who look up to them in varying degrees. There's always social relevance and validity up until they can't drive, and then somewhat afterwards if they were careful in their days to cultivate a reputation for being a fun or intriguing character.

a long time jw friend of ours told my husband today that he has already disassociated himself from the organization after seeing the proof of wt's immoral affair with the beast.. this was the last straw for him.. i wonder how many others this info is going to effect this way?.

Demonized Wall Paper!
by D wiltshire inyears ago i studied with a couple, that told me of an elder that studied with them years before.. they were having marital discord at the time and this elder was famous for finding demon posessed objects.. so this elder while conducting his study and talking about their marital problems asked them if perhaps they may have inadvertently brought home a demon posessed object, and that this was the cause of their domestic problems.. well they went through their whole apartment with this elder to see if they could find anything, but were unsucessfull.
finally when in the kitchen the elder said he felt strange and that something in the kitchen must be causing it, they looked and looked but nothing.. but when the elder touched the walls of the kitchen, he felt the presents of something there on the walls that could be the causing of their problems.
so they dung into the wall of the kitchen and found that it was painted over a couple layers of old wall paper.. guess what was one of the pictures they found on one of the layers of wall paper?.

Give the JWs this inch, and they'll take a mile. It might be time here to distribute the maturity of the DNC principle, so these Georgia types, bless their southern-fried soul, don't have to tax themselves to come up with a non-violent solution that plays into the JW perpetual motion machine.
That women and kids thing alone is going to cause so many uninvited violin concertos at the homes of "weak" and inactive types...

She might try singing the National Anthem, which could musically heal those parts of the mind that are still blocked off to chants and mantras. And she needs to look at a calender, remind herself what year it is. Most of all, she needs to give the finger to those negative images of her mother. Giving a mental finger to a lot of JW crap helps immeasurably, helps you draw lines that will not, cannot be crossed again.

They know
by Vida inthe hardcore jehovahs witness know that it is not real, that its all a mind game or if you like a make-believe reality they live in.. all jws sooner or later come to this knowledge and then some decide to stay and some decide to leave.

I contend that they all know it in varying degrees, but that only those with family connections, or lack of confidence in getting along on their own or gaining worthy friendships, stay in long after they know the score. I knew at 14 and stayed till 25, so, I suck. But there's a certain fire and zest for life once you're out that seems to consume you, and you appreciate life so much more.
