Some cheeses go well with some foods/drinks and don't with some others. Some are better for a snack, some are better with wine. It depends on what kind of meal and purpose.

Which Org 'directives' did you blatantly ignore
by Tallon ini remember that we were always encouraged to let everyone at work know that you were one of jw's and therefore would not participate in any of their functions, parties etc.. this i outrightly refused to do.
my reasoning was that i was employed and paid to do a job and therefore my religious beliefs were a personal matter and therefore had nothing to do with my work.
secondly i had to work with these people.

I didn't bother becoming a JW. That organization was shoved down my throat since the day I was born. I didn't have a choice.
I'm quite sure I'm not the only born in who had to struggle to live and be whoever they choose.
I can add a few more. BTW, I'm proud of each one of my actions.
That's what they get when they try to grow converts since the day they are born.

In the years I was a JW I ignored the following things (not in a specific order) that have specific directives from the WT:
- I went to college
- I had sex
- I had sex in the Kingdom Hall
- I had sex in the Assembiles
- I had sex while preaching
- I had sex during the memorial
- I had sex with a few brothers
- I lied about having sex
- I lied about the hours I preached
- I played the lottery
- I got involved in politics
- I celebrated my and other people's birthdays
- I lied to my bones about a whole lot of other things
- I lied to coworkers and some friends about being a JW
- I lied at work about what JWs are and aren't allowed
- I supported a friend who was having an abortion
- I directed people to other religious organizations
- I rarely read the magazines and literature; when I did it was because I felt obligated
- I told my mom that the JWs are full of --it
- I went to clubs
- I danced to Disco music
- I vogued to Madonna in the 90s
- I watched pretty much every Hollywood movie made in the 80s
- I had fancy haircuts, fashionable clothing (that i used to going to the clubs)
- I went to Rock concerts
- I got involved in activism
- I read other religious literature
- I integrated a few concepts of Budhism
- I participated in a few competitions (and won) in school
- I beat the crap out of some homophobic idiot that attempted to bully me
- I didn't get married in the congregation
- Said a lot of "bless you" after people sneezed
- Had a boyfriend
- Lied about having a boyfriend
- Had a JW girlfriend at the same time I had a boyfriend
- Brought the boyfriend to the KH with the excuse that he "was interested". Sat between him and my girlfriend
- Told a person I was giving Bible studies to stop taking them and encouraged him to look for spirituality somewhere else
Those are a just few things I went against WT directives.

The Great October 2016 Invite to the Sunday Meeting campaign ...
by freddo inwell how's it going round your way?
massive increase of interested ones?
did you even know it was supposed to be happening?

The interesting thing is how those things prove that they are full of --it. According to their own believes, as the end comes closer, their numbers are supposed to dwindle since at some point they are expected to finish their preaching.
Remember that according to them when the world is ready for Armageddon, there will be no more people interested, that's what is supposed to be the great sign that the great tribulation is going to start.
Yet, they do not publicize that. Instead they try to exploit their members to bring in more people like a business model that starts failing for not keeping up with the times.

Taking the Bible Lessons And Going To a KH For First Time
by Cold Steel ini've taken the bible lessons but have never attended a kingdom hall.
i was curious as to what point they begin to tighten the screws of control?
let's say you're a baptist.

I want to address the original post:
I've taken the Bible Lessons but have never attended a Kingdom Hall. I was curious as to what point they begin to tighten the screws of control? Let's say you're a Baptist. At what point do they tell you that you can't attend other churches or read anything critical of the Society?
Also, do they print any "how to" advice on how to bring these things up with those investigating "the Truth"? Have any of you guys had to broach these topics with a new or potential convert? What do they say? I've tried to imagine how one would bring up things like this and shunning to a new member or potential convert. I mean, there's a man or woman who's being shunned right there in the Hall. You think a visitor won't notice? Or what happens if a visitor just approaches the person been shunned and introduces himself? Do the handlers say, "Hey, we're not talking to that person!"
So can anyone help me out on this? These are tough subjects to broach. Do you wait until they're baptized before you start unloading these things on them? And when do they become subject to being shunned?
What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to be a JW and then leave? Do you want to stop taking Bible studies? You are not clear about what you want to do. Seems like you are more interested in finding out information about when/how to address people when they express disinterest, but what for and why?

Dumbest elder

Dumbass elders were among the main reason for me to start fading and leaving. Through my life as a JW I saw so many low IQ elders directing a congregation and making recommendations to people on life changing decisions! Not to mention all the crap I had to listen to them saying idiotic things and poor interpretations of facts.
Some men are more intelligent than others, but regardless of training, there are men out there who are just not capable of any kind of leadership. They get recommended and sometimes pushed to be elders for the stupidest of reasons, not based on knowledge, intellect or leadership skills.

Bad Blood - when safe blood turns into bad blood - The patients' body reaction
by TheWonderofYou indespite that the sensational title „bad blood“ was selected to „scare?“ the public.
„bad blood - volte-face in intensive care medicine" by ulricke gehring, 2014. available in english .
its about the fight against public unawareness and resistance.

TheWonderofYou, in all honesty, that's not new. The medical community is more than aware of body rejecting blood (and not only blood). That concept has been around ever since using blood in medicine started.
Those are some of the reasons why the medical industry keeps researching and creating methods and products to substitute blood and to control negative reactions to transfusions. Other reasons have to do with the process of using blood being too costly, and also not having enough blood in blood banks.
The article is interesting; it's good to see the numbers.

BIG news Trump...His lewd conversation leaks.
by James Mixon inif he get pass this, america deserve him...... conversation 10 years ago..

Just my two cents. I agree with those who say that they don't need that piece of evidence to know who/how that walking vulgarity named Donald Trump is. I don't either.
However, even though his popularity hasn't grown a lot compared to that of other candidates, it is still growing. There are people out there, undecided, entertaining the idea of voting for that aberration, some even looking for an excuse to do so, and the reasons that they give are just insane.
As "bad" as they say she is and as imperfect as I believe Hillary Clinton is, I really have to look at who can better lead the country. I love the idea of libertarianism, but unfortunately the choice for that is a clown, not to mention the educational uphill battle that any alternative has. So that's out of the question. At this point, a vote for Garry Johnson is a waste of vote. To me is about choosing who can really address the challenges in this country, and who can work to unify it. That pig named Donald Trump is definitely not the person to accomplish any of it.
What I find really sad and frightening is the rather large amounts of Americans who entertain and are sold on that POS named Donald Trump. It's more alarming to me to see that many people willing to vote for that --it. And the problem, I think, is not the filth that Donald Trump vomits out of his behind when he open his mouth, or what he tries to sell. It's the psychological profile and mentality of the non-politician average American who follows that crap.
Case in point, those who are not aware, look at this article:
This is the real issue that America is facing. That's what I believe needs to be addressed. How do you start dealing with people like that nut job? There are way too many people like her here, and that has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump or any other politician for that matter.
As for me, for as long as every time something that Donald Trump (I ran out of disgusting ways of describing that thing) says something stupid and there's an avalanche of surrogates explaining what he says and trying to divert it to "Hillary said this! She did that!", I'm not taking that candidate seriously.
I feel sorry for true republicans and conservatives, in a way, for having that thing representing them, but at the same time, the Republican party has to look into itself and get their effing act together. That's what you get for the infighting; that's what you get when you become the party of no; that's what you get when you become an "anything but Obama". They earned Donald Trump.

What steps did you take to free yourself from the cult? mentally or physically?
by HereIgo infirst i ignored all of the elders phone calls to send my recommendation letter to my new congregation, truth is i had already started my fade and moved across town and didn't have a new congregation.
i deleted all jw friends on facebook.
i also threw away all of my public talks recorded on cd, all literature, even my book bag and my bible.

To me it was very important to leave in my terms and because I said so, so I did a whole lot of lying and pretending to avoid getting disfellowshipped.
I changed congregations and went to a place where they didn't know me (even though I knew that the record will follow), I started college in the evenings, I started building relationships outside the congregation. I also had a boyfriend who gave me a lot of support in my fading process.
When elders and other people in the congregation started asking questions, I kept my responses vague and will throw something about a very recent WT article so they saw that I was current, and I kept myself as undetectable as possible.
