  I have been reading posts here for awhile. Some are very Intelligent and Though Provoking. I see at least two types of people posting here. The ones who never beleived in god and who lived a double live throughout their JW lives and the ones who really beleived it to be the truth but eventually came to grips with their doubts and were likely discourged.

  i am told by those stupid enough to be called my friends, that i think about death far too often for comfort.

  this blemish on an otherwise perfect character is probably a gift of nationality as many of my comrades seem to spend whole days toasting seats in corner cafes, lethargically discussing the latest obituary and predicting the size and quality of the tombstone.

  whenever i visit the mountainous village of my birth, it strikes me that i have seen these same people drinking campari in these same bars for almost four decades.

  The problem will be to make sure your requests are honored

  My father-in-law wanted "I did it my way" played. They decided not to honor that and played crap like The old ragged cross" instead. They felt too embarrassed to play what he wanted.

  Adult Children of Alcoholics

  how do witnesses view aa meetings and aca meetings?

  are they ok with the 12 steps?

  the reason i am asking is because i think it might be beneficial for my jw-wife to attend some aca meetings but i'm unsure of how "anti-aa" the witnesses are.. also, if anyone care to make any comments re aca meetings, i'm all ears.

  AA meetings

  I can't say if they help or not. I can say that I know several people who belonged to AA and what it did for them was introduce them to more friends with something in common. They would go out together after the meetings and bar hop.

  If one truly wants to stop using alcohol, then it may be a good place to start. If one doesnt want to stop bad enough then it could be a good place to make things worse.

  From what Ive seen, I would highly recommend that you or another accompany her as a support rather then let her go alone.

  muslim rebels in the southern philippines have beheaded two christian hostages, part of a group of jehovah's witnesses seized on tuesday.

  the two severed heads were found by the philippines military on the remote southern island of jolo.

  the army chief on jolo, brigadier general romeo tolentino, said that a note was attached to one of the heads, saying: "those who do not believe in allah will suffer the same fate.

  Results of recent studies on the consumption of alcohol and the effects it has on ones attractiveness to the opposite sex are in.

  It has now been shown that 4 beers or 2 glasses of wine will make the opposite sex (or same if gay) appear more attractive.

  Students and their professors conducted studies at a university.

  I forgot to add,

  However the tests results also indicate there is a downside, as the effects of the alcohol wear off, so does the attractivness.

  Fruit Having Youth-sustaining Benefits!

  this idea of mine, which i quote below, i think is sound.

  i still stick to it because i think that it clears up a lot of confusion regarding *the two trees* and their purposes for being in the garden of eden: .

  aside from the variety of other trees which jehovah provided for the daily needs of the first human pair, god had placed two especially necessary trees in the "middle of the garden.

  Needless to say, they both bore seedless fruit.

  For as long as they continued to eat the fruit of THIS tree their bodies would remain young, and thus they would never grow old and die.

  Lets say that they never ate from the tree of knowledge and good and bad.

  And continued to become many and filled the earth with perfect humans that would also live forever as long as they ate from this tree of life.

  That seedless tree would have to produce fruit to sustain millions/billions of people from all over the world?

  Or would God create more of these seedless trees?

  The black market value on these seedless fruits alone would be staggering.

  That would be inevitable since Satan would be around to make sure it or something along those lines did happen.

  i had a conversation with an active witness from the usa lately.

  and when talking about child upbringing he stated that some children need a spank sometimes.

  of course i was upset because of that, and i didn't thought witnesses was that stupid.

  Does making entirely baseless and ridiculous accusations constitute the best you can do in responding to these posts? What basis do you have for making such an outrageous conclusion? Are you under the influence of narcotics? Do you have a prior history of mental illness? Are you sexually frustrated or coming out of the closet? What's your story?

  Would you mind if I use this in my next class as an example of projection? Or will you file suit for copyright infringement?
