Dutch judge rules that elders are not entitled to hide behind clergy-penitent privilege
by Anders Andersen intoday a dutch judge ruled that jw elders and the jw branch cannot invoke clergy-penitent privilege when it comes to information used in a judicial committee.. jw had filed a complaint with the courts because the branch office, two kingdom halls and a few elders' homes were raided by police almost 2 years ago in search of evidence related to child abuse issues.. jw argued that the information that was taken by police is protected by clergy-penitent privilege.
today the judge ruled that 1) an organization doesn't haven't such a privilege, 2) jw elders don't always act as spiritual counselors.
their actions as judges in judicial committees aren't protected by privilege, and 3) conversations jw have with their elders are often not confidential at all (as per jw policy) so jw elders can't rightfully invoke clergy-penitent privilege to maintain absolute confidentiality, because there isn't absolute confidentiality in the first place.. jw are thinking about appealing the verdict..

The Motive of the Governing Body
by jwfacts ini have been quiet of late, developing other interests, happy that there are a whole group of people producing great resources.
however, i found some old emails from ray franz that promoted me to write an article that answers a question i regularly receive.
it is in regards to the motive of governing body members.

Has Anything Positive Come Out Of This Coronavirus Isolation For You?
by minimus ini guess you could make a case of more families being together although that might not be the best situation.
less cars and pollutants mean we can breathe better.
if you were ever uncomfortable in crowds, this could be good news.

Jp1692, they haven’t contacted you because they are afraid of what you “know” and may tell them. Life is quieter for me and Mr. Biahi, but we are both essential and are working full time. But we are saving money because nowhere to go and spend it! We miss our grandkids! We see them only from a distance, like on Easter, we watched them hunt for eggs outside. It was so cute, they are 2 and 5.

Hello
by BoogerMan innot a lot to say, except that i studied with jw's then gave up when i realised it wasn't the truth as they call it.. the ordinary jw's are generally nice people, but their elders are mostly little dictators from what i saw.
look forward to meeting people here who are less judgemental..

Biahi
Welcome to the forum! And yes, most elders are like dictators. Very self righteous and self important.

by JWTom inthere was a letter read sunday at our meeting that mentioned some parts of us are starting to open back up.
however, regardless of things opening up that no kingdom halls should be used for any meetings of any kind.
also, no door-to-door ministry or any form of in-person ministry is allowed.

Do the GB leaders of the JWS make its members delusionaly insane ?
by Finkelstein inthis particular question or evaluation of the people who are participating jws has come up before in debate.
the more one deeply analyzes this the answer usually comes up in the affirmative yes.
when you consider the fact that jws members will abandon their own family, go as far as kill themselves under the direction of these men, it really confirms just how deep the mental and conscious indoctrination these men have gone.. .

I would say yes, in certain cases. My aunt, for example. When she gets to talking about “da troof,” her eyes literally glaze over. She says nutty things, too. Like when my 89 year old grandma was hospitalized with pneumonia, nurses came in and took blood samples for testing. My aunt accused them of taking it to transfuse into someone else because “They know Jehovah’s Witnesses have good blood.” In other words, no AIDS, etc.
