You don’t have to play by their rules! I’m a long time fader (35+) years. Never disfellowshipped or disassociated.

new series "The Good News According to Jesus"
by neat blue dog inthis concept was leaked here not too long ago, and it was just announced at the next section of the 'annual meeting' on jw broadcasting.
they allude to it being a half hour series and say that it will cover literally every detail in all four gospels in chronological order through the course of all episodes.
they also insinuate that it's the most ambitious project yet (i guess making use of that new media production facility).

Sea Breeze, did they really say that in a Watchtower? I was thinking if they put their “spin” on Jesus, it could include things like Him praying to Jehovah by name, and who knows how bold and culty they get, maybe have Jesus say that right before he returns, a wonderful organization teaching “da troof” will emerge. Lol

Profanity on Surrey Kingdom Hall
by lssjr inif it is a non-jw who did this as a result of their pandemic campaign (letter-writing and telephone calls), jehovah’s witnesses really need to check themselves.
they have been directed by their new york headquarters (since last year shortly after the start of the pandemic) to send letters to only people they know.
people don’t like receiving unwanted, unrequested, unsolicited letters and phone calls, especially from jehovah’s witnesses.. if it is a former member who received a letter as a result letter-writing pandemic campaign- most former members do not like being harassed by active jehovah’s witnesses and have been directed by their new york headquarters to send letters to and call only people they know.. .

When I was a little kid, someone spray painted “Jehovah’s witnesses suck” on the street in front of my grandparents house. Of course, this was “persecution “, and therefore proved that it was “the truth”. SMH.

Zoom meetings
by molybdenum inbeing pimo i attend the meetings regularly over zoom.
( i have to as my wife is a dyed -in - the wool, and stick-in-the mud pioneer witness.
i have no possibility of leaving as it would create havoc in my life and at 68 years of age i just don't want the hassle of having to cope with the ramifications of disassociating myself.

Here's another JW / JW adjacent in the national news
by La Capra ini saw this story on a national news broadcast and said to myself, "hey, that's the same ian rogers that was in my congregation.".
i tracked down a local article to confirm it was the same person, even though i recognized him immediately and he looks just like his dad did 35 years ago (except for the hair color).. https://napavalleyregister.com/news/local/mother-of-napa-garage-owner-ian-rogers-describes-gun-collecting-right-wing-views-in-years/article_9c823a90-6cd2-5c54-9f76-26203b17fe31.html.
things the congregation leadership did to his mom during those mid-80s years were elemental to my disassociation in 1987--i wrote them down on paper as i was sorting out my decision..

I remember one woman brought in from the territory, in the 1970’s. They had this woman on the platform describing how she previously participated in orgies, etc. They talked about all these sexual things that she did before she learned the “truth”. I was not the only kid in the audience. About 3 months after she was baptized, she was disfellowshipped. Never saw her again. Lol

Phone witnessing and the Year Book
by Diogenesister inwhen the “year book” is published online next year, and the number of new baptisms is roughly the same as it always is, how are they going to deny that their new “converts” are nothing more than born-in kids of witnesses or already “captive” family and friends?.
the “billions” of hours of service are at best pointless and ineffective and at worse often fabricated.. what say you?.

The USPS has a program called “every door direct mail”. Or EDDM. Many businesses and some churches use this to get their message out. Pizza places, nail shops, and churches who are offering special services, for example, Easter services. If the KH used this, they could cover every door in town in no time at all. That is, if their message is really “important “ and “life saving”.

Introducing www.jwletter.com
by Roger Kirkpatrick indue to current restrictions, letter writing has replaced the door-to-door method of preaching.
however, the typical jw practice of hand printing sappy and childish messages and enclosing what amounts to watchtower "junk mail" is enough to embarrass even xjws.
i decided to compose a letter which completely "spills the beans" regarding current jw beliefs and practices, and here is why i did so.

Great, clever job! And it’s really their “truth”.
