Honest hearted may be in the Bible, but their “definition “ is different. What they mean by honest hearted is to believe everything they claim, without any question. Or proof.

Honest Hearted Ones
by Sea Breeze inthere are certain wt terms that sound biblical but really just puff up the pride.
hundreds of times the wt has used the term honest-hearted in their literature.
it sounds biblical, if for no other reason because we hear it so often in jw circles.

Yes, Sheol do, reminds me of the case in Arkansas, Roderick Watkins, where his wife defended him (🤮), and the rest of the congregation rallied around him, till ALL the evidence came out in court. Shameful.

“The United Socialist States of America?”
by Fisherman inwhen i was growing up, some people were on welfare but the vast majority were working people that paid their own rent, doctor’s bills, medicine, food, etc.
—and saved money.
so, a working person did not need financial help from the government if they didn’t have vices.

Maybe companies need to pay people more! Then they could pay their own way. Someone I know married a social worker (with a college degree). He never made more than $35,000 a year. Shameful. Even Walmart, with billions in profits, pay people a pittance. Full time workers needing government help. Also, though, some people need to learn how to handle the money they do make, and learn to live within their means. If you work at McDonalds, don’t buy designer purses!

Yes, you are perfectly normal. I feel the same, I had a lost childhood. And, all for nothing. And, I left at 23, not 50. Hugs to you, Punky. ☺️ We deserve 💵 from this evil cult.

Latest jw broadcast referring to allegations of protecting pedophiles
by jonahstourguide inhi folks.. i put this in abuse as i thought it relevant.. a physically in mentally out friend that considers our friendship greater than religion told me that on the latest broadcast steven lett alluded to satans voice being behind people that claim the organisation protects pedophiles.. my friend then went on to say they must be in damage control.. he added, but that is correct, they are hiding their internal records.
is not that construed as protecting the accused?.
if i get the inclination i may post a snippet of what was actually said.. sadly my friend is trying to protect his family relationships and so goes along with the charade.. his situation weighs on me but, as many of you here know, it can be a difficult road to travel.. jtg.

Darlene, you ask how moms can protect their kids. You can’t, in this organization. After it happens, everyone is just supposed to forgive and forget, and move on. And, never tell the authorities because it will “bring reproach on Jehovah’s name.” 💩🤮

Is This New?
by Lost in the fog init is a very long time since i was an elder and the elders textbooks have changed multiple times since then.
going back to when i was an elder, to the best of my knowledge the only way a spouse could divorce from his/her partner was porneia, if that person had sexual relations with a man, woman, child, or beast.
but it had to be proven and that's the dubious 2 witness rule.. in fact, if it was not proven and the innocent party divorced and married someone else, then they could be hauled up in front of a judicial committee and be charged with committing adultery and disfellowshipped!

I don’t think it was a money thing, for some reason my parents were not out in service that day, I think that elder was trying to “teach me a lesson”, and he succeeded. But, it wasn’t the lesson he meant. Lol 🖕

LongHairGal, thank you for your kind words.🥰 I could tell many more stories, I could write a book. Sometimes, I think I could write a whole comedy routine about these experiences, because if I couldn’t laugh about it, I’d cry.

Many, many things, as I was growing up. The extreme lack of love was notable, even as a small kid. I could never understand why we couldn’t celebrate holidays, and I knew there was a scripture which said you could celebrate anything you wanted, let each one be convinced “in his own mind.” Yet, that scripture was ignored. At age 11, I was left out in the D2D ministry, in the winter, while everyone else in the group went out to a restaurant for a break. The asshole elder in charge, apologized to me afterward, claimed they “forgot” me, and I knew he was lying. The faces on the others in the group I will never forget. Then, once I turned about 13, the elders constantly picked on me for how I looked, yet they also admitted that I was dressed modestly. Yet, apparently I looked “too attractive “, and they had a problem with it. Fuck them. Then, I read a book that contained the line, “I’d rather be dead than not really be living.” I thought, that’s me. I’m not really living. The Bible does not say to put your life on hold now, don’t do anything but exist, and wait for the new system. I also vowed to myself that I would NEVER bring a child into the world, if I had to raise that child as a JW. Left for good at age 23, hard fade, never looked back.
