  many of you are aware of the ongoing battle over clergy exemption from reporting of child abuse.

  the question is, are we in the field doing enough to push for what is right!?.

  there are always multiple ways of looking at an issue, and the viewpoint advocated by the catholic church, the mormon church and the watchtower church is that the provision of confession without the fear of being turned in to police allows an abuser to seek help to stop his abuse.

  First, who should be permitted to call themselves clergy. IMO, a person who has a degree from an accredited seminary is a clergy member. Not a window washer, or factory worker who is an elder. Second, a confession that is protected, should ONLY be between the aforementioned clergy person holding a degree, and the confessor. Not 3 elders, unqualified, who tell other elders, their wives, etc. It should be established who can actually be called clergy. And then, ONE clergyman, and ONE congregant. Not like the witnesses do it. JMHO.

  Wedding Anniversary #62

  hi friends , i thought i would just let you know it`s my wife and i, 62nd wedding anniversary today.. not that we were able to celebrate much as my wife wasn`t up to it today .. however i did manage to give her a couple of champers at home ,while i had a couple o ales with friends down at the club and managed to put on lotto for tonite and a couple of keno`s from the club ,you never know the god`s might smile upon us for doing something right after all these years.?.

  Bait and Switch "Bible studies"

  mark jones, a witness for over 30 years describes what jws call bible studies offered to the public.. .

  "they (jehovah's witnesses) offer you a free home “bible” study - which turns out to be a study of a watchtower publication with the bible brought out as an afterthought to try and prop up whatever current idea the governing body are claiming is “the truth” this week.. i think it’s underhanded.. when my parents became jehovah’s witnesses and they offered people a free home “bible” study, this is what they brought to study with them:.

  what, did you think they were going to study the bible with you?.

  All the books pictured here, except the “What does the Bible really teach” book, I have in my possession. And, the Revelation book, I have the original, and I snagged my mom’s copy, which has a bunch of cut and pasted stuff. ( It’s loaded) . I guess they are worth something. If I wanted to give them away, I’d send them to Mike and Kim.I have Riches (1936) and lots of oldies. No studies in the scriptures, though.

  a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck southeastern turkey early monday, february 6, 2023. later, a magnitude 7.5 tremor hit the same region.

  a number of significant aftershocks have been felt in the region.

  I think that they hesitate to put anything in print, because it always bites them in the ass. They can wipe stupid teachings off the website like it never existed (1984), but we can prove what they put in print. Hold on to your old literature, it’s a gold mine!

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses who are disfellowshipped allowed to communicate and comfort each other while waiting to be reinstated?

  i just read about a disfellowshipped person who was looking for other disfellowshipped persons to socialize with.

  what does the org have to say about this?.

  I hard faded…and when my elder dad died, of course I went to the funeral. Most came up to me to offer their condolences, and I noticed many had jealous looks on their faces, like they wished they were out, too. I had my worldly husband and my toddler daughter with me.

  JWs and the constitution of the United States

  jws will not salute the flag.

  however they will support the us constitution which gives congress the right to establish the military and to declare and to make war.

  isn’t that tant amount to supporting the country going to war?.

  I know when I went to work for the USPS, I was required to swear an oath to “uphold the constitution”. I was proud to do so. 🇺🇸😀 Btw, there are JWs that work at the post office.

  JWs at Culture Fest

  the state university where we live has cultural festivals educating the public about art, food and music of the minorities in the community.

  it is also an opportunity for some to generate a little income selling their wares and food.

  the jws have successfully put up a booth right in the campus building and used it to actively proselytize and distribute literature.
