  Great posts, both of you. I’m an American, I love my country, but I really do wish we had universal health care. I vote that way, it’s my number one issue. Medicare for all, to start.

  This negates their statement about Rebekah Vardy (UK) that she was not, or never was, a Jehovah’s Witness. She was a child taken to the hall by her parents. She had to live by the teachings. I wish someone had told me I “wasn’t a Jehovah’s Witness.”

  When they say they report right away, they mean they report to the branch, NOT the police, or civil authorities. They are liars, but they say this because they use their definition of a lie, they don’t think the journalists, or others are entitled to be told the truth.

  a well-done news story.

  the original watchtower organization is incorporated in pennsylvania, and the state has taken on the catholic church successfully.

  this is a case worth watching!

  I clearly remember (for whatever reason) I sat without my parents, toward the front of the hall. That particular program, the elder on the platform, read that scripture where Jesus says, “Take my yoke, because my yolk is kindly and my load is light.” The elder then, with a gesture, stated, “See, the load is light.” I knew the load was heavy, I turned around to look at all the faces behind me did not agree with him, either.

  Funny, talking about facial expressions, I came back to the hall for my dad’s funeral. I successfully faded, about 10 years before. My husband was by my side, my toddler daughter on my hip. Many witnesses expressed condolences to me, but their faces looked jealous. Because I was free! And they were slaves. 🙁

  Ecclesiastes 9:5 -"the dead know nothing at all"

  the narrator of the book of ecclesiastes had very little knowledge of many things that jesus and his apostles later preached.

  the author does not make statements, but only wonders (thinks, observes, often raises questions, and leaves them open).

  he looked at the world based on the law of moses and found nothing but vanity, as the earthly reward promised in the law did not always accompany good deeds and earthly punishment for evil deeds.

  My Bible (The Living Bible), has a footnote for Ecclesiastes 9:5. The foot note states, “ This statement reflects Solomon’s discouraged opinion. It does not, however, reflect God’s truth of the matter.”
