i was just wondering what do the members of this board think the biggest deception in the teaching of the watchtower society is?.
one of the biggest deceptions for me, one that stuck like a thorn in my side was their deception on earthquakes, hence my previous thread on the last days.
the wts, as i recall, published supposed proof of the increase in earthquakes since 1914. i was so angry when i found out that this was an outright lie.
Their other deception is in their steadfast refusal to acknowledge that 607 is the wrong date for the destruction of Jerusalem. Jerusalem was destroyed when it was destroyed, you cannot change a date just to please yourself, it is like saying World War 2 started in 1919.
Bingo! That killed my faith in the WTBTS but not in the Bible. Just read Gentile Times Reconsidered.

since on many occasions, the watchtower and awake bound volumes have been altered from what was originally printed, and newer editions of hard covered books have also been altered compared to the originals, who's to say that the cds haven't also been tampered with?.

Is there any proof of that? There seems to be a belief on here that the WT has made wholesale changes to their bound volumes, books and CDROM's. Is this truth or pure fantasy? The only changes I know about are that 1988 WT and when new editions of a book come out.
My challenge is this...prove that the WT has made a lot of changes to their bound volumes, books, CDROM's.

I know in the 70's & 80's a DA person was the same as a DF person but a lot has happened since then and maybe its changed. ("Apostates" seem to like to live in the 70s & 80's particularly around 1979-81)

another religious group is now attempting to restrict internet usage by its members.
this news item appeared today (friday july 13).. afghanistan's ruling taliban movement has banned the use of the internet in the war-torn country to stop access to vulgar, immoral and anti-islamic material, an afghan news service said on friday.. the pakistan-based afghan islamic press (aip) quoted taliban foreign minister maulvi wakil ahmad muttawakil as saying the movement was not against the internet as such but was opposed to obscenity, vulgarity and anti-islamic ``stuff'' on it.. ``we want to establish a system in afghanistan through which we can control all those things that are wrong, obscene, immoral and against islam,'' he said.. the ban also applies to government departments, aip said.. it was not immediately known how many people or offices use the internet in a country in which infrastructure is in ruins because of more than two decades of war.
there are not many computers and most of areas do not have electricity.. those who can afford to, including foreign aid agencies, log onto the internet through the few telephone lines provided by neighboring pakistan.
These guys treat women worse than what the WTBTS does..

I got a question. Is there different versions (editions) of The Finished Mystery? I noted a post where a poster said Rutherford changed some of it cos of a fallout with one of the authors. Also, one of my Bible Student friends has it but the cover is radically different (Same colour, different layout.)
