  Hi doc,

  Welcome to the board. I am glad you are making friends here already, I know I have made some very good ones. For each one of us, if and how we technically "leave" the borg is a very personal decision. Some choose to drift quietly away so as not to lose family members, some are forcibly pushed out and are very angry and bitter about it. Some cannot tolerate keeping the things they have learned quiet and feel honor bound to speak their mind. It doesn't matter to us what you do about that. We will offer you support and encouragement wherever you are on that road, because we have all taken one of those paths.

  Hi JT,

  I thought your post an excellent breakdown of HOW the borg is able to control even the most intimate details of someones life...without getting themselves in trouble by stating definitely :You Cannot Have Children", but the effect is the same.

  I am sorry you both had to endure that. I agree with what others have said...it's not too late if you both want to still have kids, it will just require checking with a doctor first for Mrs JT. But at this stage of life, you should also seriously consider how much it will change your life! Now don't say "DUH" and roll your eyes at me...I KNOW you've thought of that. Having kids is kind of like having sex for the first time. You can imagine what it will be like...you can talk to all your friends who've "done" it and get their opinions...you can read about it, watch it, etc... But it doesn't really prepare you for the reality of it. Some are extremely disappointed, some pleasantly surprised...you get the idea. Same with kids. I wouldn't take a million dollars for the ones I have, but I wouldn't GIVE a nickel for another one!

  Welcome to the board! I enjoyed your story very much. I too am sorry you had to lose your best friend...but I can see you realize that your freedom is worth any price.

  Not to try to give you false hope or anything, but I was a faithful dub for 35 years, shunned my own sister and brother when they were df'd...but life went on and I eventually left the borg. Fact is, my sister and I left for good at around the same time, and now we are closer than we ever were before. So, you just never know! Give her some time to really start missing you, then maybe try contacting her. Good luck to you, and I hope you find support and encouragement here!

  what type of gift would you send to your favourite poster?.

  perhaps these two new products from japan would be appropriate for someone you know.. small brush cleans between toes to reduce foot odour.

  I'll bite. I would order the bellybutton cleaner for Harmony and Riz...because I think of them as lovely little tarts who probably walk around in those short little shirts showing off their faboulous abs!!!

  I would order the toe brush for JanH and Eman...only because I think they're both "creative" and funny enough to come up with some other than intended uses for them!

  reuters.... in a surprise development today, jehovah, the god of the christian fundamentalist sect 'jehovah's witnesses' made a statement about the recent controversy regarding the watchtower bible and tract society(wts) and its ngo status.

  the 'wts' has now dissassociated itself from its previous ngo connection but had held such a position for the past 9 years or so.

  'i've had enough' said the diety, 'i just don't know what i am supposed to do with these people.

  Hey Expat,

  We've been feeding quite a few of them for months now, we also feed them cheap dry cat food. They are so cute to watch...especially when the mom brings her little babies up. One of our cats, who is named "Sweetie" takes it into her head at odd times to rush them, hissing and spitting...then she stalks away with her tail up high. I swear she is proud of herself.

  We put bungee cords over the tops of the garbage to keep them out. So far, they haven't figured out a way to undo those!
