Hi Granny
Welcome to the board, and I'm so glad you finally decided to post. My mother in law is similar to what you describe. Sometimes she will say there is something horribly wrong in the organization...then turn around and tell us how inspiring the WT study was and that we HAVE to go back because it is God's organization! They are just so confused!
Tracy, who is no longer confused
i've been looking at the pictures of all the women posters, and they're beautiful!
had i known that jw women looked this good long ago i'd be a member today!.
dana.
Hey ExMormon,
You're a riot! And a great addition to this board. I had a blast with you and the others in chat the other night.
And Seven(Dave)
I gotta tell ya, with your mature outlook on women, I don't know why YOU haven't found a suitable partner! Maybe you and Prisca should get together. Seriously, I appreciate what you said, and I have to agree, that sometimes women have further to go to achieve personal growth...and we all really do want to be appreciated for who we are, not how we look. Looking good is nice, but once you are over 25, it just doesn't have the same importance. Hell, I would kill to have the body I had at 21...but I have never felt sexier than I do now. It all comes from self assurance and confidence in WHO you are...that is all. So you can still give me crap in the chat room ok?
Tracy
here's the moment we've all been waiting for.
the release of the jw.com ladies photo shoot.
please refrain from any lewd comments.
Slayer
Hubby called me at work and said "Wait 'til you see what Slayerlayer did to you gals on the board". I said, "Let me guess, he put our pics on guys bodies!" Doug said, "No, women's bodies". I said "Well, I hope he gave me a GOOD one." Doug said "It's almost as good as the one you have".....sigh....now THAT is true love.
Thanks Slayer....this one is a keeper.
Tracy
we would like to take this opportunity to recognize those that were just too ugly to make it into aour calendar.
we thank you for your audition photos, but we're afraid that you would hurt our business.
again thank you for auditioning.
Slayer,
You are the funniest cousin I have!!! I think if you had done one with the ladies, it would have been funny....but THIS one is to die for.
Keep up the good work. And I LOVE your new portfolio pic...how did you do that?
Tracy
i saw that many person were posting their experience in the jw so i decided to do the same.
my parents entered in this religion when i was about 3 years old so i grew up as a jw and i couln't participate in the activities, at my school.
i saw a topic about a giant conspiracy made by the jw and i do believe it can be true because we had this kind of strange experience when my mothers were sick.
Hi Nicolas,
Welcome to this board, and thank you for sharing your story. I am SO sorry that your sisters are shunning you...believe me buddy, I know the feeling.
My sister and I post on this board, her name is Safe4kids...and we would be willing to "adopt" you as our online brother.
And don't worry about your english, you did very well...and I admire the heck out of someone who can speak more than one language!
Tracy
greetings and salutations!
i've commented a couple times on this post and have hung around for a few weeks and thought i'd tell you a little about myself!
btw...i think this site is awesome and totally therapetic!
Hi Daisy
Welcome to this board! I am so glad that you had the foresight to not be pressured into baptism...and the strength you showed as a young girl bringing attention to the abuse your brother was receiving...well, I am speechless with respect for you.
I am so glad that you are having a happy family life now. I will look forward to reading more of your posts, and look for me in the chat room sometime...we have a blast in there! (For some reason, whenever I'm in there, the talk is all about sex...I can't figure it out!)
Tracy
Dear Troubled
My heart goes out to you. I have not read your other posts, but will do so in an attempt to learn more about you and what is going on in your life.
I believe many here can sympathize AND empathize with what you are feeling. Depression is a terrible thing...doubly so because you can't see when it will end, and the thought of enduring life feeling that way is intolerable.
To answer your question...no, I don't want to take on that responsibility of giving you my opinion.
Just believe me, and the others who have already responded, that it WILL NOT LAST forever...this struggle that you are going through. And if you can hang in there, get therapy, (and maybe some free therapy here) some of your angst will resolve itself. You are at the beginning stages of what could very well be the best time of your life. Please find someone to talk to about this...and continue to talk to us...we care!
Tracy
