for those of you who have read this in someone elses thread, i apologize.
it was suggested i start my own thread so here is my story again for anyone who may have missed it.
i am currently from minnesota and live in st. paul (roseville), but the congregation that i went to was in the apple valley area.
Hi Radiolady
I'm glad you started your own thread to introduce yourself, because I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles with illness and depression. I have an aunt with fibromyalgia...it seems a terrible illness to have. But you sure turned your life around. I am happy for you and your daughter that you got out when you did, and are now enjoying a successfull career doing something you obviously enjoy. I hope the medical community comes up with some relief for people suffering your illness very soon. In the meantime, welcome to the board and thanks for sharing your story with us.

Lilacs,
Your children are beautiful! I love it when people share a little more about themselves with us...makes it seem more like family here. I hope your kids appreciate what a great mom they have.

americans are so emotionally demonstrative.
this ain't no criticism folks, it's just an observation.. take a peek at gently ferals story about the xmas tree, lovely stuff but zilch response from us hard-hearted brits.
oozy stuff from the us!.

Just don't tell her ladyship or FreePeace about this, ok?

these questions are aimed at non-alcoholic ex-jw's who have survived or left an alcoholic relationship.. given that the bible says god hates a divorcing, to what extent did religious beliefs keep you in the alcoholic relationship?.
to what extent did peer pressure from the congregation keep you in the relationship?.
what made you decide to leave the alcoholic relationship when you did?.
RHW,
You have my sympathies. I was married to an alcoholic for 15 years. Most people don't realize it, but it takes alot of strength to stay with one for so long. You have to be good at doing things alone...and taking care of yourself.
For me, I reached a point where I just had no more to give. I had all the joy and vibrancy for life sucked right out of me. I was doing all the giving...and maintaining my own emotional well being...and the well just ran dry one day. He wasn't an evil man...and he probably still loves me to this day, but I had to get out of that relationship to save myself, or my kids would have had no stable adult in their lives. I don't know if it will come to that for you, but you have my sympathies and support wherever you're at.

hey my friends,.
throw me some positive thoughts over the next few days.. my job worries are back and my brother called yesterday to say my mother is going downhill more quickly than i imagined.. mitch and i are off to visit her and dad tomorrow.. i had a terrible panic attack last night.
mitch got a xanax in me in the nick of time and i calmed down and went to sleep.. hope everyone is having a good holiday season.
Joel,
I'm sorry to hear about your mom sweetie. Aren't you glad you have Mitch to be supportive right now? to the both of you.
Things will get better, they always do!

Thanks guys,
You are all so sweet! s to all of you and *WHACKS* to some of you...you know who you are.
We had a holiday open house where I work today, and Doug came at lunch time and brought me flowers and chocolates...and my boss gave me a gift certificate for Christmas to a spa...a massage, manicure and pedicure. And I start a 13 day vacation today, with Xmas just around the corner. Could life get any better? Woohoo! And I haven't even jumped his bones yet, so the best part of the evening is still ahead of me.
I love you all...and that's not just the margaritas talking. Well, ok...just a little bit. But Doug, sigh...you make me smile, I trust you completely with my heart, you stimulate my brain like no one else ever has...and that is the highest compliment I can think of. Well, you stimulate other parts too...but I'll whisper more about that in your ear in just a few minutes. I am grateful that life brought us together right when we both needed to believe in love again.

hey guys,.
the family and i just got back from seeing the movie.
those of you who read the books will not be disappointed!
Hey ISP,
My kids are 15 and 16, and have read the books. Not sure I would take young ones to it, might be some scary scenes for them.
Slip...you purist you I thought they took very little poetic license with things, but that's just my opinion. Even if you haven't read the books, I would think this a great adventure film. Maybe in your case, you would have enjoyed the movie if you hadn't read the books,
