What's with the "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses"? I take it that this is one of the new corporations formed last year. Is this the organization that will be writing to congregations on behalf of the Governing Body from now on?

If this is the "Christian Congregation" are there other, non-Christian, congregations? It sounds like (I said sounds like not it is) a break-away group. Or like the confusion in the 70s when JWs started saying they were Jehovah's Christian Witnesses. After 70 years of being Witnesses of Jehovah have they decided they are Christians first?

Do you remember this Bible passage?

i barely remember a bible account that went something along these lines: some representative of god was trying to show the israelites that jehovah was the real god and challenged them to build a big sacrifice and have their god answer and consume it with fire.

when they couldn't, he began to mock them and as the story goes he prays to god and half the mountain dissappears or something like that.. sorry i couldn't be more precise but it has been a long time.

if you remember the bible chapter and verses, i would like to read it again.. skipper.

I didn't suggest it was Mount Carmel. It was my Dad, at least from 1965 to 1993. Don't blame me I was only 5 and I believed everything my dad said.

I remember something about what you are talking about. My dad used to use something he had heard for prooving the Bible to be true when in field service. I remember as a kid my dad told this stuff numerous times. His story was that at the site, Mount Carmel, scientists have discovered fused rock and crystals and these have also been found at the sites of nuclear explosions.

I have heard lots of unbelievable stories as proof almost always presented as fact in public talks. As for the story, I still like the jibe about Baal "having excrement and having to go to the privy".

Reverse rationalization

question for opposers:.

if world events unfold pretty much as the wts predicts (or rather, as they interpret the bible to predict), and this culminates in armageddon, where jehovah makes himself known and publicly endorses jws.... .

how would you begin rationalize that?

I'm with Venice on this. This question is like asking "what would you do if You Know was proved right and Jehovah publically endorsed him?"

Nothing is unfolding in the slightest way like the WTS predicts.

Welcome to the board. You can believe you posted this you can't believe what is going on and how it affects you. Welcome to the truth. A lot of us have been through similar things to you but few of us have been as close to the leadership as you.

This is a mistake and a mistake of huge magnitude. The WTS is still making a big mistake by engaging in lies to cover up the truth. Corrupt men, yes. I wonder if "heads will roll" before the WTS gets to grips with this.

I did. It seems God uses opposers (their words) to bring things to the attention of the GB. Obviously, the GB doesn't act unless spirit directed too. So God must be directing oposers.

Marilyn is quite right. I posted some figures here and a longer piece on Beliefnet. Less the 1% of all JWs are reporting for preaching in China, India and Indonesia. Those 3 countries make up over 1/3 of the World's poplulation. 50% of all JWs are concentrated in just 8 countries.

JWs are concentrated in Christian countries or countries where other Christian missionaries opened the way.
