You bet I would. Unjustice, that was why I left the org.

Would You Stick Up For A Friend If They Were Being Dealt With Unjustly?
by minimus ini knew many people in the congregation that were dealt with terribly.
but most times, people were afraid to talk to the elders or were afraid they might get shunned by the more prominent ones in the congregation.
so they closed their eyes to their own friends being treated poorly and carried on as if nothing really was happening.

For all those who have started or answered abuse threads lately.. :)
by reboot inthere seem to have been a lot of threads lately on the subject of parental abuse and quite a few of us are still finding this really hard to cope with.
i've been reading them and not getting uset as i would have done a while ago and was wondering why.i think i've finally worked it out and was just wondering if what i did could help you in the way it helped me.
i had a physically and emotionally abusive home life until i left home at eighteen.i spend years alternatively trying to come to terms with it and blocking it all out.

JW &Your Health
by desib77 inwell, i guess this will be my first official question for all of you.....does the stress of the jw religon stemming from a background in it affect anyones health?.
this may seems silly but just thinking about it and other religious options stresses me out.
right now, just from thinking about this for an hour or so, i have a huge headache and am very tense and a little bit shaky.

Oh, yeah! Stress. In fact by the time when I tried to get out, I was going crazy. If I stayed another month, I would have ended up at a mental hospital.

desi,
First welcome to the board! You and I have something in common: jw pioneer mother.
Don't try to convince her because it's no use, at least not yet. Before you deal with your mom, deal with yourself. Ask yourself why you left the organization( Watchtower Co.). Was it because you found out the truth about the Watchtower? Or was it a rebellious act without any reason? For me it was the first reason. Even then I had some problem just like you, too. Then I read a scripture that says not to be afraid of false prophets. It was like God told me that I shouldn't be afraid of the Watchtower Society. I had some experiences when I was a jw that I thought God was trying to protect me. When I decided to leave the organization, I already had enough informations/evidences that this organization was nothing but a cult. And when I read that verse from the Bible, I knew that God was on my side.
Don't try to make any big changes or even to join any other religion yet. Take your time. I've been disassociated for about 1 1/2 years. I've talked to a pastor and to a nun whom I knew well. But I'm not in any church group yet. I even went to one of their bible studies. Now I'm pregnant with my first child. After the baby is born, I'm planning to check out more churches with my husband. I think I'll be ready. No, I am ready now.

1. I think I heard it first from the morning news. So I probably was having my breakfast.
2. I was about to have breakfast, and my boyfriend called. I didn't believe him, but when I turned on the TV, I couldn't believe it. It also brought my memory of a Korean Airline case. It was shot down by then Soviet airforce. Over 200 people died, and they (Soviet) never appologized. I remembered the scenes from the public memorial service. It was so sad. All those grieving family members were so similar to the ones at the WTC.

He is in Oakland, CA.
I know that he is a serious sexoffender, but I feel sorry for this guy. Why is a sexoffender keep repeating crimes? I don't understand. Once they got caught, and put into jail, they should have learned a lesson. Aren't they afraid of the consquences?

"They're out to get me!"
by Nan inis it my imagination, or do jehovah witnesses have an "everyone is against me" attitude??
our daughter-in-law (who is a jw) seems to have this mind-set.
whether its getting the car repaired, going to the doctor, work done on the house, etc., they all have "ripped her off".

My mom (a jw) is like that, too.
