snareandracket. I am interested genuinely. life itself amazes me..hot blooded v cold blooded animals.....plants v animals....communication...choices....beliefs....the older I get the more I realize that anything is possible...as for God...where did 'he' come from if he does exist....as a longtime jw I often gave talks using a sieve as the theory of evolution.....full of holes and doesn't hold water...but since coming out.....keeping options open!

man and apes share about 99% DNA. how come?..and whenever evolution is examined or experiments are conducted one element cannot be replicated in any laboratory .time. ....
my mind is open to ideas.

Question for Believers - Why did god "create" poison ivy, poison toad stools, and marijuana?
by Comatose inif he created them, then he would have had to use divine intervention to protect people from eating them or burning them.
even after being told not to and passing that knlowedge on, small children could inadvertently get into poison berries or mushrooms.
what about bacteria that causes extreme stomach problems like giardia?

What on earth happened to the magazines?
by slimboyfat infor the first time in years today.
to say that it took me five minutes to read the whole thing would be to flatter the rag.
it doesn't even seem to contain actual articles any more, just headings and bullet points and pictures.

the mags have become trivial. trying to appeal to young ones with childish illustrations. wouldn't be surprised if they combine awake and watchtower.

'Great ROI'...successfully fading

about 4 months earlier than that, i stumbled upon an article about the wts being associated with the un.
that got me into finding out ttat eventually.

I would so love to read crisis of conscience but very hard to obtain here in UK. I'm sure many jw members are now waking up to the fact that the watchtower empire has an emperor with no clothes.....constantly changing tack under the guise of so called New Light....which is itself a misapplied scripture quotation....

what happened to 'Make sure of all things ?' etc etc...seems that they are scared oif any questions or discussion of beliefs ..why? because they are on shaky ground. Surely discussing and talking openly about doubts etc is the way to build any real belief or conviction.?..Jesus never told prople what to believe..he asked/answered questions and allowed them to reach rational conclusions?.. what are they afraid of?.... as for the GB....how do they receive instruction from god?...dreams?...or dubious medication?...whole thing seems rotten...

Good time for R&F to preemptively question GB validity
by irondork inwith the new light in the july 15 watchtower, now might be the perfect time for rank and file members to question wether or not the big boys are who they say they are.
in light of the fact that the men who claim to be the sole channel of communication for all mankind could not even grasp their own identity for the last 100 years, wouldn't now be a good time to turn the tables on the elders who are so quick to drag a questioning dub to the back room and demand loyalty to the governing body?.
wouldn't now be a good time to put the july 15 watchtower in the middle of the table and ask to see the credentials on these men without fear of being suspected of apostacy?

too many meetings..really? far too many meetings..2 hrs Sunday,2 hrs thursday, w/t study and prep..public talk (take notes and 'review'),,Examine scriptures daily...personal study (?)....family evening study..cong book study...weekly bible study ...school meeting...items...ministry prep and involvement..C/O visits....Memorial...Assembly Days..Conventions....it just goes on and on..almost full scale mind and life control...never anytime to actually stand back and think!! study and more study and more study.......too many meetings?...you bet!

new light?.....I never believed in black lightbulbs till now.....does Jehovah really expect us, mere humans , to make head or tail of all this?.....much confusion now when you add in the Daniel book about the time of the end and kings etc etc..........rapidly becoming all meaningless gobbledygook....

The July 15 Watchtower and all its new light is only...
by sosoconfused inmaking people cling to the organization more.
when i found out it was up i told so many people frantically that there is a new study article up and that it had so many changes.
my mother started crying saying how happy she is to be a part of an organization that is truly directed by jehovah... only the true faithful and discreeet slave could have such insight.... another person began to say how great it is to see the celestial chariot on the move.. .

seems to me the only legitimate time when you can openly criticize the GB/Organization etc is when you are studying before dedication/baptism. The moment you query or raise doubts about teachings/doctrine etc you are condemned as an apostate and thrown out....!...as for correction of interpretation etc as with the July 15th article..well!! when things are wrong/unclear the society just say to wait on Jehovah and be patient...then when they alter understanding the society say it's 'New Light'.....win /win both ways!! ..finally...if a witness suffers it is always from Satan..but if things are going well Jehovah gets the credit..win /win again!!..all very tiring and designed to clamp shut any who honestly question what thy are being told is 'The Truth'...!
