Did you ever fake field service?

i know this was very wrong to do , but who out there stretched their field service time by any means possible?

example, letter writing, driving by the same house , when you knew no one was home.

let's be honest here, confess and get it off your chest.... lol

I remember trying to MAKE field service fun!!! One time when I was about 20 years old, I'm 41 now, I was out with a car group with the *Taveling Overseer*! We were way out in the country in Tn. and I went to the door with the Overseer. It was a farm and no one was home *or no one answered!!!* and walking back I told the Overseer that I could make all the cow's upon that hill come to us!!! Well, he was from New York, Bethel and thought that was cute. He said, *Sure, make them come to us!* *in this cocky kind of loving way* ..Also remember, I was bored out of my mind.....and so with this grin on my face, I yelled out, ***SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! About 75 cows started bull dozing down this hill *thinking it's time to feed*. It scared the shit out of him and the car group freaked out! I'm sure they thought I was crazy!!! I was just young and trying to make it fun! Lord, I was sooo bored!!!

Suggestions Please

my mother has been sick for a couple of months and undergoing a battery of tests, she is a jw.

we live 3000 miles apart.

well she just called and informed me that she had just received some bad news from her doctor this afternoon.

I'm so sorry about your mother. I know how hard it is to recieve news like that. I guess you could say that I've had my share of j.w. family crisis! I've lost my parents and I understand, all too well how conflict can happen. I lost my *worldly* dad to depression/suicide in 1996 and my j.w. mom to breast cancer in 1999. I have many siblins and believe me, I could write a book family crisis *What not to do!* Now that the dust has settled, I can look back and reflect on the past and think of a lot of things that I wish I had done differently. For one, keeping my mouth shut!!! I realized in the end, it just wasn't worth it anymore. And I didn't always have to be right. I wasn't going to fix anything. I knew the whole time that my mother was sick that she would, without a doubt, and DID refuse blood. It was made VERY clear from the beginning. I've realized that there are some things that are just out of our control. I realized that I wasn't going to start changing her mind at this point in her life. Our family was a bundle of raw nerves. Anything would set us off. Towards the end of my mothers life, I finally realized that the important thing was to love her, not make a issue out of what someone said, what someone thinks, what someone believes. I finally learned to bit my tounge, for the sake of peace, spend my last days with her, giving her pedicures, manicures, pampering her. She had no contact with me for 14 years *dfed* and when I found out she was sick, I went back to the borg so I could have some time with her. Long story short, I guess in the end, I wanted to make some nice memories for me and my moher. You may not have much time with your mama,ConnieLynn, I hope you can make some nice memories with her.
It will be worth it. =:o)

Daughter Going to College this Fall

my first born baby will be going to college in the fall.

she will graduate high school and spokane community college this year with an aa degree.

I know you must be proud! I too, am glad that you got out of the hovah and encouraged her to go to college! She is sooooo pretty, just a doll!

I hope she know's how lucky she is to have such a great dad!

New Meeting attendance policy??

i couldn't believe it when my daughter came home from a weekend at her cousins.

she had gone to the meeting with them on sunday and had been approached by an elder (an uncle by marriage)..he was of course joking when he said this....he had the nerve to tell her that because i was not attending the meetings (haven't been for 7 months) that they were going to have to come to my home with a shotgun and make me go.

i have heard of shotgun weddings before not shotgun meeting attendance.

I remember my mother telling me that if I didn't go to the meetings, then I wouldn't go ANYWHERE else, and she meant it!!!

You know, come to think of it, she didn't let me do that much anyway! No wonder so many go stir crazy when they leave!!!

Myself, how could we get ahold of Traci Felts. I would love to see her again. I think her mother would freak out if I called and asked for her number! It would be cool to have a apostafest and have all the ex's over that we all use to know. Wouldn't that be cool!

There's so many more that I haven't met that I love to meet!!!

Evidence against JWs' view of disfellowshipping

my father, an elder, is willing to speak with me about the society's view of disfellowshipping.

i actually think that today i put a chink in his armor about the whole thing.

(i'm very shocked, and just a bit hopeful.

I help care for a uncle with my 2 j.w. sisters. We love each other, but I realize that the only thing that keeps us associating with me is the fact, it's a family matter. My sisters and I send each other emails pretty regularly. I wonder if it will change after my uncles passes away. Is anyone in this kind of situation??? My mother didn't speak to me for 13 years. She's dead now and nothing can bring those years back. The borg. should pay for what they do to peoples lives.
