Shera, tell your story!!! I love hearing spooky stories!!!
Span, that was definately a wierd experience!!! That would have spooked me big time!!!
Wierd things would happen in the house that me and my ex lived in. It was a old two story house from the 1800's that had been gutted and completely remodeled. Doors would shut by themselves, lights would go off for no reason. A picture fell off the wall once. One morning when we got up, all the diningroom chairs were in the livingroom, as if we had company and moved extra chairs in there for more seating. My ex and I argued over it, saying that neither of us had moved the chairs! Don't know if one of us got up during our sleep and done it or not, but it was strange in deed.
Nothing like that has happened since, thank goodness, but then again, I don't live in that house anymore!!! I'm not saying that I had ghosts, but I don't have answers for some of the wierd things that happened there either.

Top Five Scriptures Ignored by the Watchtower
by metatron inwitnesses love to believe the bible is 'their book',.
that it applies to them exclusively, and that no part.
of it contradicts the organization they have come to.

Amen Metatron. Isn't it funny how the scriptures that they do use, they use it to suit their needs and twist them around. CC and I threw our New World Translations in the trash a LONG time ago. In fact, we threw every WT publication we had in the trash!
Thanks for that imformative post!

Letter to my family
by Elsewhere infor several months now i have been writing back and forth to the service dept asking them to explain the difference between "those who simply leave the faith" and those who "went out" (disassociate).
the reason i am curious about this is because "those who simply leave the faith" are not shunned, however those who "went out" (disassociated) are shunned.
i have written twice and received two replies.

Elsewhere, I'm so sorry that you're going through this! As you can see, there are lots of us going through the same thing. I have several siblin's that are still witnesses, the rest faded out, got disfellowshiped, me I disassociated myself in 1999. What I do is associate with the siblins that aren't witnesses and to hell with the rest of them. The JeHover Witnits have a warped view of love. I hold no malice towards my j.w. siblins, instead have a deep pity for them and feel they are missing out on not having me in their lives. It's their loss! I've surrounded myself around good friends that are more like family to me than my j.w. siblins could ever imagine being. Form your own family. Blood doesn't make you family!!!

A question for you....
by Dia ini just got to wondering this, after reading the post by the girl who is thinking of joining the wts..... (this would be for those who became a jw by choice - not birth, tho of course, anyone here can comment).. i'm wondering, what kind of christian were you prior to your conversion to the wts?.
you can give your denomination if you choose.
but what i'm really asking about is what was your experience with religion, in general?.
-
Tinkerbell4125
Dia, I was born into it! All my life, I honestly thought it was the *truth*. Growing up in it was difficult. My mother was a witness and my dad wasn't. There were alot of arguments between my mom and dad and then dad turned around and took his frustrations out on me and my siblins. Let me say, without going into details, life at my home was no picnic. Hubby and I disassociated ourselves in 1999. Needless to say, I don't think the JeHover Witnits have the truff anymore!
