To me to be honest, some of the things explained here, seems to exceptions. At least in my experience, few, if any I know have experienced anything that bear resemblence to the things explained here. But, perhaps, we’re more lax about things in Europe...

Demographics within WTS
by Dune ini asked an elder when i was younger if the society had a census on who was in the organization.
things such as race, gender, age and wealth (kind of hard to find for the last) he told me no.
he said that the only thing that the only thing that was reported to brooklyn was who was baptized and if someone was disfellowshipped.. do you think theres a reason they dont tell us the women to men ratio or am i just looking to deep into this?

In fact, a big survey was made in Germany among more than 140,000 witnesses. I think it showed that some 39 per cent of believeres were male, and 61 per cent female. It even stated statistics on percentage of those who received beenfit from state compared to the general population, and also educational and income level

Also, the Japanese Co-ordinator at Bethel, Honda, was DF. Perhaps that was a big shock?

I’ve been to HQ as well as touring 11 branch offices. The German was the best, far more modern and up to date than HQ, which I found a bit "old-fashioned". The French and Italian were slightly more disorganized than the German and Austrian counterpart. (Interesting sidenote: I had visited the old as well as the new Austrian Branch. In the old branch they had some really ugly, brown curtains in the reception area. In the new bethel I discovered them in a closet re-used for some storage things.. So they at least re-cycle things. The best reception ever was at the Greek bethel, where I was treated with lunch and white wine! The boys played outside, and most men did not wear ties. It was the most relaxed, the German was the strictest...

My wife and I left partly for allowing our kids a normal childhood. They have enjoyed it tremendously. Other people have told us that they have become more relaxed since adjusting to the world... when we first had our birthdayparty, I hung close to 30 balloons around the house (normally most people hang up three... as to compensate for the years lost :-)

Kingdom Hall Spankings
by JH inmost meetings i went to, children were brought to the washrooms in the back to be disciplined.
often i could hear a child yell or cry due to the spanking given by the parent.
people in the hall would have that look on their face meaning that it was alright to discipline a child by spanking him.

We did bring toys/books and even allowed to sleep at times. This was not encouraged, but no one talked to us about it. Perhaps being an elder helped :-)

I’ve noticed that some witnesses accept witnesses being of another race, but being racist towards non-witnesses of another race.... On several occasions.

New Pro-JW Documentary! See the spin!
by Confession injust found out about this.
you can read all about it at www.knocking.org, but here is the homepage intro... from a handful of bible students in pennsylvania to 7 million members worldwide today, the christian group has ministered door-to-door for 130 years.
typically dismissed as a controversial sect, the much-derided jehovah's witnesses lack respect and seem irrelevant.

On the web site, it was stated that his mother was a JW, not himself...
