  New Tax Law

  the only thing that the irs has not taxed yet is the male penis.

  this is due to the fact that 40% of the time it is hanging around unemployed, 30% of the time it is hard up, 20% of the time it is pissed off and 10% of the time it is in the hole.

  on top of that, it has two dependents and they are both nuts.

  help an ex fundie understand

  this is my first posting , even though i've started to at least 7 times.

  i've been reading this forum for 3 months trying to understand how jw's live their lives away from the work environment and how it affects their life decisions.

  i'll explain why i need to know in the rest of the post.

  We now lead a typical moderate life style - moderate alcohol use, sleeping in on Sunday, catching up on a lot of music.

  Sounds like you got THAT under control!

  Now, as for the girl, I'm inclined to agree with nightwarrior. Leave her alone. Nothing but trouble unless of course she leaves the 'hovahs. But even then, years of guilt, shame, loss of family, etc., will make her pretty vulnerable. And, since you're (happily?)married, probably not a good idea to develop a "close" relationship anyway.

  Garage Sale Tips? Ideas? Suggestions?

  erm, i believe garage sales are also known as yard sales in the states?

  anyway, i'm planning on holding a garage sale in a month's time, as i will be moving and i want to get rid of my junk, as well as hopefully raise some few much-needed $$$.. those of you who have held them, what advice do you give?

  any tips on making it more profitable?

  Where I live, serious garage sale shoppers LOVE to show up early on Friday mornings,(6 to 7 a.m.) that is if you plan on a weekend sale. I guess they want to be the first to buy all the good stuff.

  KILLING A CHILD RAPIST?

  is it morally wrong?

  obviously it's illegal to kill a rapist, unless maybe they are caught in the act.

  but to premeditate the killing of a child rapist?

  Is it morally wrong? Obviously it's illegal to kill a rapist, unless maybe they are caught in the act. But to premeditate the killing of a child rapist? Is it the same as killing an abortion doctor? A serial killer? A plain old murderer? Should the courts have leniency for people convicted of killing a known child rapist, especially if the child is related to them? Or would that lead to wide spread vigilanteism and wrongful killings?

  Obviously I have no sympathy for people who hurt kids.

  Abusive JW Elder to be released from jail...

  ...in 6 months for good behavior.. this man, james barratt of rugby england was put in prision last summer for molesting boys, including one of my relatives.

  the fact that he is only going to spend a year in jail sickens me.

  not being familiar with the british court system, i need to ask the board: is there a parole hearing like in the us?

  shouldn't it have been the person who gave you your bible study, that should have baptized you?

  in matthew 28:19,20 it says "go therefore and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit.. the way i see it, it should have been the one who gave you the biblical knowledge, that should have baptized you.

  making disciples is phase one, and baptizing them is phase two.

  Those baptisms are just an assembly line function. Henry Ford would have been proud. Heck, any Gomer could have slipped into line and got dunked. You'd have to be a Gomer to get 'tised as a 'hovah. LOL!
