The only stats I have seen on this,is that a person would have to fly every day for 250 years to be involved in a crash, and the odds are that person would survive it.
I saw that on a TV programme here in the UK about air crashes.
Take care,
Rich.
i'm trying to reconcile the society's stats in the
awake, dec. 8th, page 8!
they claim that there's a 1 in 5,100 probability of being killed in a plane crash!

i've worked for the same company since i left college, for a long time, and so some people where i work have known me for many years.
i am by and large still known as a jehovah's witness who generally refuses social invites.
i have not spoken a great deal to my work colleagues about my change of heart about my religion, just a select few, although people have definitely noticed that i don't preach at them anymore!
Hi Matty.
Some wise words of advice about not getting off your tree at a works party,I learnt the hard way many years ago,and I love a party!.
Congratulations on your first, enjoy it,thats what its there for,if this is any help,I usually watch everybody else getting themselves into embarrasing situations, its more fun,and as Termite wisely said, wait untill you are in the company of friends rather than your professional collegues to let the hair down.
Take care,
Rich.
my grandma was a remarkable woman, with a sense of humour that could crack me up.
and she had the determination to make everything she started a success.
she never gave up, and fought for everything she hold dear.
You have my deepest sympathies Viv.

what's your favourite cheese, please?.
mine's gruyere, a swiss cheese that is absolutely scrummy.http://www.cheese.com/description.asp?name=gruyere.
of course, i still enjoy the noble stilton, danish blue and there ain't nothing to compare to a genuine parmesan with pasta.. but, gruyere takes some beating, i reckon.. englishman.
I rather like a mature Cheddar,a nice bit of Cheshire even, what I go crazy over is a nice Camembeart that has been left to mature on on top of my central heating boiler for a week, wonderfull.,
Cheers,
Rich.
from the article.
"tuna is the most consumed fish in the country," bender says.
"if you're a pregnant woman and you eat over two cans of tuna per week, you can go over" safe levels of mercury.
Yes!,
Cheers,
Rich

Very interesting post Megadude,Thanks.
I have had a problem with seafood all my life,I like it,but it dosnt like me.
Way back to the early sixties, when I was a mere whipper snapper,I had violent allergic reactions to sea food,we were told then that there was a slight murcury content in fish,I have tried eating it in recent years, and I usually end up with a headace,so I tend to avoid it.

a man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
a woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need.
a woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.

i think everyone has had an experience with deja vu; i know i have and it's really freaky when it happens.
i'll be standing there talking to someone and that feeling comes over me that i've done this before; i've had the exact same conversation with this person and i can even predict what they're going to say.. with someone i know, that's one thing; having this experience with someone i've never met before is really bizarre.. i've heard all kinds of theorys as to what deja vu is: a "delay" in the brain, reincarnation, someone in the future has changed the past and we sometimes 'repeat' things, it's all in your head, it's satan.......... i'd be interested to hear what sort of experiences you've had with deja vu and what you think it is........ .
I knew that was going to be said.
another fluff topic that has no useful purpose whatsoever.
i have a big foot.
