Life really is what we make it.
by SpiceItUp ini have been reading the board today and have noticed alot of ones today are hurting and angry.
my heart goes out as i have been there many times.
it is often hard to focus on the good things in our life when the negative seem to push them out.

I got up this morning feeling pretty rotten,angry and miserable,you see,it is a year ago today that I lost my Mum to cancer,she was 66.
After feeling sorry for myself for most of the morning,I started to think,what am I doing,I know that she would be upset if she knew that I was moping about,she told me that before she died,we talked almost to the very end,she was a very brave lady,even with the pain she suffered she did not complain once.
So I started to think about the good things,I thought rather than mourn her,why not celebrate her life,so I have been remembering,who it was that patched me up after falling out of trees as a child,who it was that always seemed to forgive,even if a dissaproving look went before,and far more than I can say here.
Tonight I feel better,slightly reflective,as I do miss her,but one thing she said is that life is for living,live it,and live every moment as if its your last,because one day it will be.
2 hours after saying that she was gone,my perspective on life has changed dramatically ever since.

I'm back from my hols now...
by meat pie ini just got back and i wanted to say thanks to eman and her ladyship for a really great bbq.
it was fun meeting lots of lovely people too.
now i've got a lot of catching up to do...ps> if anyone's got any pictures of me they can put them up i don't mind.

Bikers are sooooo hot! (fluff)
by zenpunk inwell, i must digress..... i was traveling home from work last night when a biker and i both stopped at ajoining stop signs at the same time.
i waved for him to go ahead of me (two roads were converging into one).
he flashed me this goregous smile and went ahead down the country road in a blaze of leather and hair on his steel gray harley.

Of course bikers are cool,I have an XV750 Yamaha,Im one.
It is the 25th anniversary of my motorbike club next year,out of the approx 150 members most of us are still in touch after all these years,not bad eh.

many of us quickly became aware that some of the locals were feeling agitated because, it was rumoured, one of the regulars had been beaten up.
possibly, it was mooted, by someone who was connected to a local kingdom hall.. .

boomboom car stereos...
by DanTheMan ini live in klumbus ohio, in a neighborhood that ain't da hood but it ain't the 'burbs either.. it seems that if you are a male under 25 in my area and you don't have a 10,000 watt car stereo that shakes the whole neighborhood, well, you're nothing.. i don't get hip-hop culture.
i think that it is a screaming commentary on the cultural rot in the usa.. could someone comfort me or help explain the appeal of this pervasive sub-culture?
the depravity of it all makes me feel so hopeless sometimes.. maybe i'm a little too narrowly caucasian in my outlook.

Over here in the uk,this boom boom stuff from cars that makes your teeth vibrate is illegal as well,it is enforced,not only is the equipment confiscated,but the car as well.
I have to be a bit carefull here though,as like Animal,I am still into motorbikes,and Deep Purple/Led Zep/Ac-Dc,at rediculous decibels still gives me a buzz,occasioally now though.

BBQ Update
by LittleToe inwell, i finally got home, after a round trip of about 1600 miles, visiting 28 ex-jw's and their families, from around britain.
the highlight of the trip was definitely englishman's bbq .
the spider-filled digeridoo, was a real bonus, as was the sing-alonga-eman (shame that not everyone knew "wild rover" .

Englishman's BBQ

we had the most wonderful time meeting about 16 people from this board and the locals from e-mans pub.
i am so glad we made the trip.
