I am not joking.
by Iamallcool inthere was a ms brother that sleeps all the time during all of the meetings for years.
he did give many service meeting parts.
his wife did not sit down with him, just one seat apart from each other so he can sleep better, that is my observation.

This kind of discovery - becoming more available every day.
Online databases of scanned books, newspapers & magazines, census records, old Watchtower's and Awake's and other JW publications expose the manipulations of fact by the Society/Organization.

Another Gem from the Golden Pen of the Faithful Slave
by Slidin Fast inlook at this pile of steaming horse sh*t. this is meant to soften the horror of this god of war destroying 7,000,000,000 men, women and children in a holy jihad.
draw close book p 65 .
19 consider an illustration: suppose that a mans family was being attacked by a vicious animal and that the man jumped into the fray and killed the violent beast.

Here's a better version of this illustration that draws a parallel between this man and God :
The man destroys the vicious animal to protect his family then uses his 'army' to go and kill all the other animals in the jungle. The man uses his own distructive power to napalm the jungle. This further exposes any animals who have sympathy for the destroyed animal. His henchmen kill every last living being. Other humans who fight against the man and his 'army' are destroyed excecution style. The loving father takes their homes and all their possessions and gives it to his family and army.
They all worship this loving, protective man forever and enjoy everlasting happiness.
The end.

"we must be ready to obey, even if it doesnt sound reasonable from a human standpoint"
by stuckinarut2 inso its now all clear!.
the reason why that damned wt article several months back said the quote:.
"we may be asked to do something by jehovahs organization, and we should be ready to obey even if it doesnt seem reasonable from a human standpoint or not".

After re-reading that article, I think that statement was made directly to the elders.
1) You no longer control who is an elder or ministerial servant in your congregation.
2) You no longer control the congregation bank account.
I do fear that the next step will directly affect the publishers - as some of you suggest - i.e.tests of loyalty by stirring up 'persecution'.

The Candace Condi Appeal
by Slidin Fast indoes anyone know what is going on with this?
i am on the court mailing list but there has been a deafening silence on the subject.
i know the wheels of the legal process grind slowly but has anyone got any insider info?.

Appeals can sometimes take a couple of years to be heard. Don't lose heart!
I truly believe that the Kingdom Hall and congregation bank account takeovers are related to this case ... and others around the world. These are court cases that the Org. is preparing to lose.

Is the new donation arrangment communism?
by toto555 inthe "richer" congregations giving off their surplus to the "poorer" congregations around the world.

It's a candy coated idealistic mirage of the distribution of wealth.
This appeals to many Witnesses because it conjures up a teary-eyed version of the "New System" - the 'spiritual paradise' in action!!
In reality, it is a calculated business and legal maneuver.

"They've made us debt FREE !!!"
by gingerbread inso proclaimed the brother that read the wt letter tonight that explained the new kingdom hall funding arrangement.. everyone in the hall claps .... well, like it was the last talk on the district convention.. he says 'what bank would wipe out a debt of $200,000 ???

Also at last night's meeting - the elder that read the letter opened it up for any questions. The questions raised were about the actual contribution boxes - confusion about which boxes will remain and which were going away.
In conversation afterward some folks (who have brains that still think) expressed that they were just putting $'s into the local box - to cover expenses. One older brother said to me that he stopped putting money into the 'worldwide work' box a few years ago because it was probably being used for legal fees and victim hush money.
Now they realize that they have lost control of where their contributions will be applied.
One big SLUSH FUND ....

Yes - AnnOMaly.
Any congregation who had (earlier in the week) agreed to a 'resolution' to send a lump sum every month is now "on hold". The new letter states that each publisher in the congregation will get a 'survey' slip to fill out.
It just got personal - no longer a contribution as a congregation but a contribution from YOU the publisher. They want a $ commitment from each publisher.

"I no longer want to be 'Bloodguilty'"
by stuckinarut2 ini have been thinking of a simple one liner to use when challenged as to why i dont seem to be an "active / good" witness.... "i no longer wish to be considered as 'bloodguilty' thanks" and leave it at that.. if said in a dignified, (not in a smart arse way), then i think this may make people see that my desicion is a sound one based on logic and not emotion..... thoughts?.

Stop thinking like a good Jehovah's Witness.
You don't have to justify your non-activity or give any reason or excuse.
The first step to freedom is realizing that they only have power over you if you give your freedom to them.

The Watchtower leadership (not the Governing Body) is strengthening its financial position.
The Governing Body is strengthening its control position (of the individual members and the body of elders).
As an organization, they are doing everything possible to take ownership of the structure - down to the kids in the congregations.
The appointments or deletions of elders is now controlled by the circuit overseer. The branches now own all Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls. The branch (and headquarters) now controls each congregation's bank account.
I don't know what is in store for the future with the doctrinal issues - but I think it's going to be BIG. Big changes will cause divisions, doubts and anger in the publishers and elders. I also think the the Governing Body is going to create situations (and push loyalty issues) that will bring persecution upon the individual Witnesses.
